No Daily Mail, the young Royals did not lead the clapping last night

They took part.
Just like every other citizen of the UK did
They did not start it.

I know, I know, bigger things to think about and all.

But it has raised the Republican in me to see headlines saying "The clapping was led by the Royal cuties"

We were all part of it. It just started on our street.

@Clavinova

And yet I think the largest number of views on twitter is taken by Selena Gomez. Does that make her suitable to be head of state?

You seem to attribute their worth to the number of online views they get, and use this as a cop out for why they havent done anything of any actual merit during this pandemic.

Regardless of this, the number of online views they get does not justify their position whatsoever, in fact it's a meaningless statistic.

Can you please answer my question about the sovereign grant, the queen not filming a message and why william cant go back to his job as a helicopter pilot?

From now on I'm going to respond to your answers using the following key:

RAA - reductio ad absurdum (implying I want a communist dictatorship)
CTS - changing the subject (your obsession with the sophie wessex video, which you have brought up about 84 times and which answers nothing)
FC - false comparison (comparing the royals to self made millionaires and footballers)
RO - ridiculing others (such as Republic)

You never directly answer a question, you just bang on about the sophie wessex video like that is a sufficient response to a national pandemic, and Republic with whom you are becoming more and more obsessed.

CendrillonSings · 28/03/2020 23:36

In life, you have to be the difference you want to see.

I forgot one - they mistake platitudes for results... Smile

derxa · 29/03/2020 09:30

It's a lovely video. No denying that.The children are very cute - especially the one in the middle. I forget his name. It's Louis as you well know. I love W&K and their family. They're doing a great job.

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:32

@derxa

A great job of what?

chomalungma · 29/03/2020 09:38

t's Louis as you well know. I love W&K and their family. They're doing a great job

Why should I know the name of their 3rd child?

Yes - I know Prince George's name. But not their 3rd child

OP posts:
derxa · 29/03/2020 09:41

A great job of what? Just being here and making their presence felt.

MangoFeverDream · 29/03/2020 09:42

They're doing a great job

A great job of what exactly? Raising their kids, which must be easier when you have a not very part-time job and don’t ever have to worry about money? Oh and have a nanny/cook/pa to help you out as you are oh so busy ...

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:44

Just being here and making their presence felt.

Being where?

derxa · 29/03/2020 09:44

A great job of what exactly? Raising their kids, which must be easier when you have a not very part-time job and don’t ever have to worry about money? Oh and have a nanny/cook/pa to help you out as you are oh so busy ... There are lots of people like that in this country

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:47

There are lots of people like that in this country

@derxa so why arent you praising them on this thread?

Do you not think struggling parents deserve more praise than the ultra privileged? And that it is far easier to raise children with money, land, nannies and the best education you can buy?

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:49

@derxa

And I see 'being here' turned into 'looking after their kids' pretty quickly.

By being here did you mean hiding in their stately homes, expecting the public that keep them in luxury to give up their own time and resources to help one another?

derxa · 29/03/2020 09:50

@derxa so why arent you praising them on this thread? Because they don't have a public profile. I find their presence very calming.

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:54

Crying with laughter hereGrin

Now its Kate and Wills turn to do a staged 'phone call photo', they're 'launching a mental health initiative for the pandemic' aka tweeting a few links on their Instagram so they are justified in putting their feet up until this is all over.

The initiative cost £5 million and was paid for by Kate and Wills as they care so much about mental health and can easily afford it. Oh wait, my mistake, it was paid for by the tax payer.

About as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 09:57

@derxa

What presence? They're hiding from you (and the rest of the public) in their stately homes. Living in luxury whilst watching members of the public give up their own time and resources to care for one another.

How can you defend that?

Clavinova · 29/03/2020 09:59

Wolfgirrl

CTS - changing the subject (your obsession with the sophie wessex video, which you have brought up about 84 times and which answers nothing)

84 times??

4 times according to advanced search - are you David Lammy in disguise? He is prone to exaggeration as well. Grin

derxa · 29/03/2020 10:00

What presence? They're hiding from you (and the rest of the public) in their stately homes. Living in luxury whilst watching members of the public give up their own time and resources to care for one another.
For that I applaud them. They doing social distancing and not putting strain on the NHS.

lmcneil003 · 29/03/2020 10:02

Pampered in their palaces, not lifting a finger except for a photo shoot. They are scroungers, and the monarchy needs to go now. I am not advocating the extermination of the individuals, but the power and wealth needs to be handed back to the people.

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 10:03

@Clavinova CTS and RO

Wolfgirrl · 29/03/2020 10:04

They doing social distancing and not putting strain on the NHS.

So you are disapproving of the 450,000 NHS volunteers as they are risking their health to help others?

derxa · 29/03/2020 10:10

So you are disapproving of the 450,000 NHS volunteers as they are risking their health to help others? Yes I do. Grin Is that the answer you wanted?
Of course I approve of the volunteers. They're far braver than me.

OlaEliza · 29/03/2020 10:13

The power and sort needs to be handed back to the people

And what a shit-show that would be, judging by the panic buying and inability to stay at home.

I'm not saying those in charge have any more sense but a lot of people obviously need to be governed by others.

I love old Queenie, ever since the Olympics when she sat there with that look on her face. No one can say she hasn't served her country. I'll be sad when she dies. Charles, I'm not fussed about, but Kate is great and the kids are cute.

OlaEliza · 29/03/2020 10:13

MangoFeverDream · 29/03/2020 10:14

You can’t be for real. Honestly this must be a pisstake!

chomalungma · 29/03/2020 10:15

We could elect a Head of State to do that.

To provide leadership and to protect the Constitution (such that it is)

As an aside - I assume that only the essential staff are with the Royals and that they are making their own food, doing their own cleaning etc - just like other people who normally have staff to do this stuff have to do now.
