To report this ASDA worker?

Asda are supposed to be rationing (x3 of one thing per shop) guy behind us buying 6 crates of beer - she says, that's ok I'll just put it through as two separate shops.

Then, she checks how many baby formulas I have (x1) She then says "I've bought loads, I give it to my elderly mother in porridge and coffee because she's vulnerable"

I said, well I have two vulnerable parents and in-laws but I'm not giving them baby formula, it's for babies?? She then said "well I won't begrudge someone buying 6 tins per shop if want it. Their parents could need it too"

I could see her letting people buy whatever they want as long as they put it through as a separate shop (pay twice) but was arsey with me for buying formula for my 5 month old who was with me!

I'm probably being OTT but yesterday we couldn't find milk anywhere after about 8 different shops and I got really scared, I just think she's being irresponsible.

She's really pissed me off. I want to report her but I think that's just because I'm really anxious.

Just chill out and forget it

cinammonbuns · 19/03/2020 16:15

What do you want to report her for? For the fact she let the guy buy 6 packs of beers? That’s reasonable.

But her deciding to give her mother baby milk. Weird and makes no sense (meal replacement shakes would be better for an adult) but has nothing to do with her job unless she broke the 3 per order rules when buying the milks.

Thee rest is just chitchat I don’t think there was anything there worth reporting.

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 19/03/2020 16:17

I was going to say meh, she’s just trying to make her job a bit easier in these stressful times, it’s the stupid customer pushing it who you should be mad at. Then I got to the milk boy. I’m in disbelief, are people actually doing this 🤦🏻‍♀️

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 19/03/2020 16:17

*milk bit!!!!

maa1992 · 19/03/2020 16:17

Just let it go...

EverythingChanges321 · 19/03/2020 16:19

Yes, I’d report her to the store manager.
Stockpiling essentials that others might need can’t happen if shops don’t allow it.
She needs additional training at the very least.

Disquieted1 · 19/03/2020 16:31

Report her. It is imperative that she be sacked immediately.
Or consider whether you're overreacting.

Chloemol · 19/03/2020 16:32

YEs i would report. It’s defeating the object of the exercise, the one person still buys shedloads with nine for anyone else

PaddyF0dder · 19/03/2020 16:35

Don’t be a Karen.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 19/03/2020 16:35

Why would she put formula in her mother’s food? Weird as you can get build up shake for adults mil has it stirred in porridge. Why would anyone use formula??

The beer I couldn’t get worked up about as it’s not an essential he was buying

Skittlesss · 19/03/2020 16:39

Her mother would be better off with ovaltine or Horlicks!

JigsawsAreCool · 19/03/2020 16:40

I would report. Every one will be struggling for stuff

DesLynamsMoustache · 19/03/2020 16:41

Her poor mother. It must taste like shit. Formula tastes and smells horrific.

MartinJD1976 · 19/03/2020 16:43

Have you nothing better to do then report a poorly paid front line shop worker who's at risk of catching COVID? Dear oh dear.

Best,
MJD

Marieo · 19/03/2020 16:43

There needs to be something really strict around formula, under 6 months prioritised, the shortages are scary, there's nothing else you can give a baby at that age. Some people are so selfish, why didn't she buy powdered, evaporated, or long life milk FFS. I doubt there's much point reporting, but overall the formula issue is upsetting.

Bluntness100 · 19/03/2020 16:44

Is there some form of social services for the elderly? If so that’s who to report her to. Why the fuck is she giving her mother formula?

FlamingoAndJohn · 19/03/2020 16:44

Six boxes of beer, who cares.

Buying baby formula for her mother is disgusting. Not only is that surely going to be unpleasant and unhealthy she is possibly depriving a baby of their formula.

pictish · 19/03/2020 16:45

Yabu. What is with people who want to ‘report’ others all the time. Just ignore it and get on with your day.

MauriceandAlec · 19/03/2020 16:46

I doubt they'll do anything to her, far too many going off to self-isolate the staff in those places are desperately needed now.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 19/03/2020 16:46

Why on Earth does she think vulnerable people need formula?

The mind boggles.

EmeraldShamrock · 19/03/2020 16:51

Did you mention the beer? Is that why she got arsey. I think store worker's are under so much pressure some have been attacked. Who brought up giving formula to parents. Do you use formula for your vulnerable parent. Other shoppers with babies are raging over people stock piling formula for porridge.
Everyone is on edge. No I would not report I suspect you had a word then.

Babyg1995 · 19/03/2020 16:51

The beers wouldn't bother me the baby formula would piss me right off as we have to go round everywhere for miles just for 2 tub .

EmeraldShamrock · 19/03/2020 16:52

Oh I reread it the assistant buys it for her own DM. Yes it seems to be common now formula is the new power milk.

midsomermurderess · 19/03/2020 16:53

It's beer for God's sake. Not basic essentials like toilet paper, milk, soap, but beer. People like you would have loved East Germany, denouncing your way to happiness daily.
