My DD took her first steps today and I managed to be at home to see it! Best day ever

A colleague set up a Pandemic Pets thread on Teams and everyone has added theirs - it's ace and makes us feel a little bit more connected.

i just went out and bought the office cake

Windyatthebeach · 18/03/2020 13:06

Our new dpuppy is at last being accepted by our other ddogs. Even managing some play time and toy sharing!!
A very welcome distraction right now..

I phoned my ex’s Mum for a chat. Didn’t realise it was her DD’s birthday today. Her DD had a genetic condition and died about 9 years ago.

Made her day to have someone to talk to. Especially as she may not see her granddaughter, my DD for a while.

The sky’s are blue and the suns out here. I’m sat outside having a cup of tea.

I've made a lovely big pot of chilli and my new plant has a flower on it ( which is a miracle as I usually kill them!)

NewNameGuy · 18/03/2020 14:23

My gran is going home from hospital today, at 94

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 18/03/2020 14:23

My dining room furniture that I only ordered a couple of weeks ago (and expected a 6 week lead time on) is ready and being delivered on Saturday! Strangely excited.

MuseumDad · 18/03/2020 14:23

Last day in the office (some are already homeworking) until at least the beginning of May, and the management ordered in plenty of pizza for those of us still here.

I can't tell anyone in real life as I feel selfish, but I had my work review and got a payrise this week. I get a bit anxious about money so I'm hugely thankful my job is safe for now and I am valued there.
And my elderly parents are home safely from a trip to Europe and have enough at home to self isolate.

OpposableThumbs2 · 18/03/2020 14:25

I'm buying a house. Completing tomorrow 😁

Fluffiest · 18/03/2020 14:26

My new sofa arrived today. It's been on order since mid December and she is so beautiful!

Not selfish at all - well done you.

Lovely thread!

I can’t really think of anything from the last few days to be honest (life has been very very quiet!) but last week DD1 had an amazing parents’ evening. It was the first in five years as she was home educated from halfway through year 3 to partway into year 8 and I was so worried how it would go, but they all love her, praised her attitude etc and I was so so proud both of her and TBH of myself as I worked so hard to help her get more confident. :)

3ismylot · 18/03/2020 14:58

After tracing my Dad (who didn't know I even existed) just before Christmas and giving him the biggest shock of his life, I have now spoken to him every day since the first contact and met a few times, plus I am now in contact with my half brother and sister and have been welcomed with open arms Smile mind you the Christmas bill is going to go through the roof this year with all the nieces and nephews I now have!

Icecreamdiva · 18/03/2020 14:59

I found a five pound note in the filter of the washing machine

Boredoftherain · 18/03/2020 15:00

I have met someone who makes me really happy. I feel like a teenager again, and it's keeping me going through all this uncertainty. Unrelated to that, I'm also feeling very confident about my future and I've lost weight (which I needed to do, really). I really needed a break and now we've been forced to go home due to closures, it couldn't have come at a better time. I can't tell anyone in my life any of this as everyone seems very worried by the situation at the moment, and I am too, but I'm also celebrating my small wins

My four week old is asleep on my chest and he is squishy and gorgeous Smile

I am coordinating the local covid response effort and been utterly overwhelmed with support and offers of help.

Windyatthebeach · 18/03/2020 15:23

I finally found school trousers that fit my impossibly shaped DD. Bought 3 pairs.

Wonder if they'll still fit when schools go back Confused

crazydiamond222 · 18/03/2020 15:35

It is a lovely sunny day here and in less than 2 weeks the clocks change giving us nice evenings.

My 4 month old shocked me today by sitting unsupported for a whole minute and was so pleased with himself.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 18/03/2020 15:37

My son has had his GCSE mock exam results in science today, he does triple science too, average result A A*!!! He has had to miss quite a bit recently too as he's broken his leg and couldn't go to lessons so even more proud 😍
