To think Richard Marx was the killer in “Hazard”

Inspired by another thread about music videos.
The song Hazard by Richard Marx and it’s music video. Been watching it again after many years and I used to think it was the boyfriend that killed Mary but now I think it could have been Richard Marxs Character

Side Note : it’s so eerie when the police drop him off at his burned trailer , it’s like they know he’s at risk of being harmed by the townspeople but just leave him there

Def the sheriff,I also saw Richrd Marx live in concert in the 80's, he was bloody great considering he was only 3ft tall, half the size of his mullet! another fact, the actor who played Jason in the Waltons played guitar in his live band

They played it on Smooth radio the other day, I was driving, and I had to change the station cos I got all emotional and couldn't concentrate on driving!

Hes usually more famous for 'Right here waiting' but this. Is .Just. Perfection.

Saw him a few years ago at Sheperds Bush Theater, an intimate show, just him and a string quartet, I think thatw as it, and I luffs ALL his songs, not a bad one in his repertoire at all, but when he sang Hazard I burst into tears!

Well thanks OP I've just lost an hour of my life watching that video three times and googling it. Better than googling corona stories at 4am though I guess.

I am very cynical and always think 'you SO did it' with all true crime conundrums so I'm finding Mulletty Marx GUILTY.

Richard Marx has been known to jokingly say in interviews that he will answer any question except who killed Mary lol.

He killed his mother as a child in the video, didn't he? He def did in Mary. She was just another woman leaving him for a bloke (in his eyes).

Yeah, he left Mary by the river...after he bludgeoned her to death/drowned her.
'Cos Mary was stepping out with another guy. Sh didn't go walking alone. Naughty Mary.
So, the boy WASN'T quite right, flipped out and killed her in a murderous rage.
I hope he went down for it.
