To think consistent lateness is pretty rude ?

Every time I arrange to meet with friends, "sorry might be a bit late" virtually every time. Ok it's not hours, but at least 10-20 minutes.
I have only been late for work once in several years because my alarm didn't go off, otherwise I am always on time.

Same with meeting friends, if we arrange a time, I get there for that time.

It's just very annoying and it feels like they don't respect your time. At work my employers know I am reliable, but with friends it feels like they just take it for granted.

Anyone else feel this way ? I know sometimes things can come up, but when it's virtually majority of the time that's different.

“People who are punctual have strategies to be on time - it doesn't come naturally to anyone“

Well yes, but I don’t have back up strategies for all my strategies in case they fail...Some, sure... but not everything.

To be fair though, everyone that’s said they’re often late has said they’re talking about being 5 or 10 minutes late.

Not the hours that other people are saying people are late.

My friend lives a 15 minute drive from me on a good run but there is often a lot of traffic and you sometimes have to wait for trains at the level crossing.

I allow 20-25 mins to drive to hers so that I will be on time. In her mind it takes 12 minutes.

If she is meeting me at mine she will without fail phone me EXACTLY at the time she agreed to arrive, saying she is just about to leave her house. She never is just about to leave the house at that point though as she will try to fit in doing something else first. So she is usually 30 mins late.
