Brexit will have soon cost the UK more than all its payments to the EU over the past 47 years put together

SchrodingersBox exactly right

thepeopleversuswork · 26/02/2020 19:38

Never was and never will be. I am still depressed about what these people are doing to my country.

However I have accepted that it is what the (narrow) majority voted for, twice effectively, and have resolved to make my peace with it until the other shoe drops.

youknowitmakessensedunnit · 26/02/2020 19:38

yep unabashedly pro brexit and no some silly article wont tell me otherwise. And I'm well educated (MA Econ Cantab)

Megan2018 · 26/02/2020 19:39

Yes

Devlesko · 26/02/2020 19:39

Never was, not changed my mind. Lord help us all.

Doodlesquah1 · 26/02/2020 19:41

Yes I am.
I voted remain in the referendum but quickly changed my mind

HenHarrier · 26/02/2020 19:42

MA Econ Cantab

But let’s face it, that’s not a real Masters degree.

Theworldisfullofgs · 26/02/2020 19:42

Kruger Dunning effect.

It's like a disease.

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 26/02/2020 19:45

Yawn.

It reminds me of something similar. Where someone asks a question, people answer and then get met with hostility by a certain group, spouting the same word over and over again, thinking if they say it often enough, it’ll come true.

I can’t say the word though. I believe it’s banned on here.

Theworldisfullofgs · 26/02/2020 19:52

Yeah.. I agree if the government tells you enough people think it's true.

What was it they told farmers? We'll keep things the same or even increase subsidies....

wherearemychickens · 26/02/2020 20:34

Those same farmers who are now at risk of losing 25% of their subsidies?

Theworldisfullofgs · 26/02/2020 20:38

Yes those ones.

wherearemychickens · 26/02/2020 20:42

Sigh. Nowt as queer as folk. You can't eat sovereignty, unfortunately.

IFellOffADivingBoardInGuernsey · 26/02/2020 20:43

Speaking of candles...some people just want to watch the world burn!

KenDodd · 26/02/2020 20:47

I believe Patrick Mitford said Brexit would mean the end of farming in the UK. Most farmers are believed to have voted Leave, they must have known what they were voting for.

mindproject · 26/02/2020 20:49

I have never been pro-Brexit, I've never waivered, I campaigned for remain.

Brexit is how the elite blame the people for all the problems that are coming our way soon. I could see that 4 years ago and it's still obvious to me.

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 26/02/2020 20:50

Yep, more than ever.

SchrodingersBox · 26/02/2020 20:52

@KenDodd being part of the single market, customs union (even if not in name) was there for the taking. It would have been Brexit in name only but there was easily a majority in parliament for it but MPs over reached. Personally I think it's a good thing that we're getting the version of Brexit we're are. The EU is a failing institution and the UK is better being out of it when it finally implodes.

Vikki69 · 26/02/2020 20:52

Not one true fact in that article, must have been written by the guardian.....🙄🙄🙄

Chocpear · 26/02/2020 20:54

No - and never was.

Theworldisfullofgs · 26/02/2020 20:59

The EU is a failing institution and the UK is better being out of it when it finally implodes.

Still this guff, when there is no evidence.

HenHarrier · 26/02/2020 21:03

The EU is a failing institution is a Brexiteer comfort blanket.

mothertruck3r · 26/02/2020 21:04

My husbands work is in medical research, an industry that will not exist in the U.K. within a very short amount of time.

Well, I'm sure many working-class leavers in the north felt the same way about the jobs they loved that were gradually destroyed by competition from EU migrants and the reduction in earning power.

KidLorneRoll · 26/02/2020 21:05

Why would people change their minds? If they were stupid enough to vote for it they aren't going to be convinced by pesky things like facts now.

Theworldisfullofgs · 26/02/2020 21:06

So let's destroy the whole country then.
Hmm
