Posting for traffic. Can I get your podcast recommendations. I’ve been listening to true crime podcasts like Someone knows something, Serial and s.town. But need something a bit more lighthearted

OP posts:

Wrongful Conviction with Jason Flom.

SidneyPrescott · 25/02/2020 17:49

Oh. I skimmed your post.

NOT lighthearted.

Apologies.

SlothRider · 25/02/2020 17:53

The Guilty Feminist is my favourite. Serious topics often, but presented with humour and interludes of Stand up comedy.

mynameiscalypso · 25/02/2020 17:56

Are you interested in business at all? I've been listening to We Crash which is a short series about the company We Work and it's fascinating

PineappleDanish · 25/02/2020 17:57

So many.

Stuff You Should Know is very good.
Ologies - if you can get an episode with an interesting expert
The Cryptoqueen
The Lady Vanishes
You're Dead to Me (history)
Death in Ice Valley
Paradise

Witchofzog · 25/02/2020 18:01

Dad wrote a porno is laugh out loud with tears pouring down your face funny. Highly recommended!

Wigglewaggle01 · 25/02/2020 18:02

My dad wrote a porno - very funny
Wooden overcoats -really good
This paranormal life - quite funny
The parapod - pretty funny

Lore - good and pretty interesting but not funny.

Thinking sideways - again interesting but not a comedy and have stop making new episodes although they have made hundreds.

FelicityBeedle · 25/02/2020 18:03

No such thing as a fish- factual but hilarious

squeaver · 25/02/2020 18:04

If you like true crime and funny I'd recommend All Killa No Filla.

What sort of thing do you find funny?

HelgaHere1 · 25/02/2020 18:05

What about audiobooks from your library as they are free.

Chickenlady25 · 25/02/2020 18:05

Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster - it'll make you hungry though!

Neolara · 25/02/2020 18:06

How to fail.
Desert island discs
Talking politics

itsme · 25/02/2020 18:08

I like chris and rosie Ramsey- shagged, married, annoyed. You have to go from.episode 1 onwards. They are very funny.

Cloudhopping · 25/02/2020 18:12

Joan and Jericha-very funny but almost too rude for me!

HaddawayAndShite · 25/02/2020 18:23

Gossipmongers is pretty funny. Joe Wilkinson, Poppy Hillstead and David Earl. They get sent made up rumours and then talk about them and pick the best.

Another stuff you should know recommendation. Very factual and entertaining. Occasionally they miss the mark with information but do correct themselves in later podcasts.

If you're into music Disgraceland is very good. It's crime related but about musicians.

Another good music one is 27 club but it's only just started so not many episodes. It's made by the same people as above and about the musicans that died aged 27 (which is probably obvious aha)

Bleublue · 25/02/2020 18:36

The High Low

julsey8 · 25/02/2020 18:48

Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard
Life is Short with Justin Long
Sibling Revelry

missjaysays · 25/02/2020 18:52

My favourite murder - a true crime comedy podcast. 2 female comedians named Karen and Georgia each tell the other a story about crime or murder. There's lots of nine murder related chatter, but that's why I love it.

All killa no filla - much the same as above, but British. It's Northern and I love it.

The teachers pet - an investigative podcast which explores the story of a woman named Lynette Dawson who went missing from New South Wales in the early 80's. Her husband is currently on trial for her murder. Very very interesting story.

This American Life - google 'the best this american life eps' and go from there. I like this one for when I'm in the bath.

Serial - start from season 1 and work your way forward.

Dirty John - again start from episode 1, a crazy and kind of frustrating story of a very bad man named John.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 25/02/2020 19:00

Also love My Favourite Murder. Georgia and Karen are great, and somehow make you feel like you’re hanging out with your incredibly funny friends. Even though you’re not Smile

No Such Thing As A Fish is great for interesting facts and comedy, My Dad Wrote a Porno is hilarious and gross and often anatomically confusing.

And slightly different in style, Blackout with Rami Malek is a radio play style podcast drama about a mysterious blackout and the slow collapse of civilisation. Not terribly lighthearted, but very entertaining.

Mysterian · 25/02/2020 19:18

RHLSTP - The Richard Herring podcast thing. He does ask for voluntary contributions Confused, or to tell other people about it and spread the word. You can guess the route I've taken. (He's a fucking idiot!)

Anyway, listen to it, don't listen to it, whatever. I've uphelp my part of the deal.

Cautionsharpblade · 25/02/2020 19:25

Another vote for All Killa No Filla

Cornettoninja · 25/02/2020 19:28

If you can cope with dark humour The Last Podcast on the Left is fantastic for true crime. It’s my go to and they have a huge back catalogue (they’ve just released episode 400 - JFK - lee Harvey Oswald)

They’re exclusive to Spotify now but I would highly recommend it.

Cautionsharpblade · 25/02/2020 19:29

Date Fight is good for humour mixed with interesting bits of history
