I know super personal but just out of interest.

I’m 5,4 and 13.5 stone- size 14 ish. I’ve just had a baby so losing weight slowly, aiming for 11stone. Which would be the higher end of my bmi, however I feel like I’m too thin and it’s not sustainable any lower even though I’m short..

Insaneinthemembury · 23/02/2020 18:09

Size 6, 5' 1" and 7 stone.
I eat fairly well but run a lot. That's how I lost my baby weight. I'd say 4 times a week about 5km each time.
It helps I love running so doesnt feel like a chore! Generally eat what I want, but dont go crazy. But enjoy treats certainly!
Consisntecy is key, it was easier for me once running became a habit.

peaceanddove · 23/02/2020 18:09

5 foot 7 inches, 11st 13lbs and a size 12/14 depending where I shop x

TheSquitz · 23/02/2020 18:10

5ft 7in
This time last year: 18 st 7lb size 24/26
Today: 11st 2lb size 14

Surfer25 · 23/02/2020 18:11

I'm your height OP and I feel too big at anything over 9.5 stone.

I have been 11.5 stone and that felt huge.

Currently about 9st 13lbs and dont like it.

user1471449295 · 23/02/2020 18:12

5ft 5, 8st 4 and size 8.

MimiLaRue · 23/02/2020 18:16

5'10" 10 stone size 10

TheGirlWhoLived · 23/02/2020 18:19

I’m 5ft 2, 13st 10 and a size 14 :)

BlancheDuBlah · 23/02/2020 18:19

5ft 6 and atm 8-11. I seem to have a small window where under 8.5 I feel too thin, (curves shrink a bit too much) and over 9 stone go up a size and feel chubby, so am happy here in the middle (roughly size 8-10).

FTM2020 · 23/02/2020 18:19

I'm a bit surprised at how many folk here don't understand how people of similar weights and heights can be different dress sizes! As a PP said, muscle weighs more than fat and skeletal structure varies from person to person. Rugby players and bodybuilders, etc. would be classed as morbidly obese in terms of their BMI which is completely inaccurate as they actually have very little body fat.

OhTheRoses · 23/02/2020 18:20

5'7"
11st, 12lb so 6lb over bmi
Size 16
I am surprised so many who are similar say they are 14 but genuinely think I am big boned due to a teutonic frame.

Over 30 years ago I was 7st 8lb and struggled then to get into even a Jaeger 8 and an M&S 10 was tight on the hip but huge on the waist.

And yes, I am a recovered anorexic.

FieldOfFlameAndHeather · 23/02/2020 18:20

I'm roughly the same as you OP, a bit shorter but a bit lighter. I feel huge and uncomfortable at the moment. I can't bend down properly and I heft myself in and out of chairs and up and down stairs, huffing and puffing.

I used to feel too fat at 11 stone but frankly I'd kill to be 11 stone again. I'd feel like a little lightweight fairy compared to now. There is certainly no way I'd be too thin though. Even when I've been 9 1/2 stone I've been a long way from thin. I've never been thin in my life.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 23/02/2020 18:21

5'6". 9 stone

Size 10

MatildaTheCat · 23/02/2020 18:22

It depends a lot on how people carry their weight as to how heavy they look and what size they are. I’m an Apple with thin legs and a tendency to be top heavy. At 5’3”, 8st 9lb I’m quite slim and about a size 10.

My friend is the same height and can be a good stone heavier yet look really trim. She’s a pear shape and has a neat waist and top half. Her bigger bottom and thighs are hidden under her skirt.

Hippee · 23/02/2020 18:22

5ft6 and currently 10st6 (have lost 4lbs in the last month). Size 12-14 depending on the shop. Want to be 9st5 again. Have crept up since having children (late) and hitting my 50s.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 23/02/2020 18:23

I'm also at the higher end of my bmi OP. I've been thinner, but haven't been at the lower end of the scale since I was a teenager. It's just not sustainable for me either. I like food too much and right now I'm struggling to lose weight

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 23/02/2020 18:23

(can fit into a size 8, but for my mental health, I always buy size 10)

edgewater · 23/02/2020 18:24

Muscle does not weigh more than fat.

What a ridiculous comment. A pound in weight is a pound of weight.

I am 5’7
Size 10/12 bottom
Size 12/14 up to
10 and a half stone. Too heavy.

Dita73 · 23/02/2020 18:24

whereishappyat · 23/02/2020 18:24

I'm 5foot6 and weigh just over 12 stone, I'm in a size 14-16. Biggest I've ever been, had baby no 3 17 months ago and I look at him with love but think you ruined me Confused I'm 30yrs old now but other kids I had at 20 & 21 I walked out the hospital and back into my size 10 jeans ... no such luck this time and a lot less energy and desire to care Cake

PhoneLock · 23/02/2020 18:24

Currently 9st 10ish and size 12-14. I don’t understand how people over a stone heavier are the same clothes size??

Maybe they are taller than you. Quoting weight and dress size without height is pointless.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 23/02/2020 18:25

I must say, regardless of fat/muscle/placement - I think you'd be able to work out someones dress size from their BMI quite accurately.
