Who is being U regarding lunch?

SidsWife · 21/02/2020 17:02

A and B have had a day out planned for a few months. Day out is a 2 hour trip away and the opportunity for their children to have lunch at a place that sells food they can not get anywhere near where they live. Children are really excited about this. C had asked to join trip last minute which is fine, however, C and children will not eat the food served at this place and has requested they eat at a chain restaurant which they can have in hometown. A and B have said no, kids have been looking forward to this for ages, however if C and kids want to eat somewhere else then that’s fine and they can meet again after. C is mad and saying they are being selfish and not accommodating her palate. A and B refusing to budge as they had trip planned months in advance.
Who is being unreasonable?

Mind you, I am the evil witch who put her foot down and left FIL at his usual restaurant off the Barbican and insisted on Rockfish for Night #1 and Platters for Night #2.

Told him we'd be there directly. Three hours later....

SpeedofaSloth · 21/02/2020 19:26

C.

everpessimistic · 21/02/2020 19:26

C

TheBigFatMermaid · 21/02/2020 19:26

C is being unreasonable. It's not as if you will part for hours to eat separately. There are loads of places nearby that will suit her - - uneducated-- pallette.

DollyDoneMore · 21/02/2020 19:26

I think A and B are being unreasonable. Chain food can be great and will be something everyone will like.

DollyDoneMore · 21/02/2020 19:27

No, I was joking. C IBU.

Chloemol · 21/02/2020 19:31

C. They invited themselves to join the trip therefore can’t dictate where everyone eats b

Drum2018 · 21/02/2020 19:31

C is being a dick. Leave her and her kids at home.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 21/02/2020 19:32

C can bog off.

YukoandHiro · 21/02/2020 19:33

Do C's children have serious allergies? If not C is being unreasonable.

TimeMarchesOnNeverEnding · 21/02/2020 19:34

@sidswife my kid is fussy. I don't expect people to change plans I just take something she can eat. I'm guessing C won't eat sushi either and that is the real issue.

ffswhatnext · 21/02/2020 19:35

Just read the menu
So apart from this place and the museum, what else can I do in Exeter? Seem a bit extreme to just go for the steak and sushi place 🤣

FraglesRock · 21/02/2020 19:37

C is bu

Don't change your plans

ddl1 · 21/02/2020 19:38

C, because the trip had already been arranged, and she asked to go at the last minute. She can't demand that people change plans at this stage.

ffswhatnext · 21/02/2020 19:39

Do C's children have serious allergies?
It would be a massive drip-feed if it turns out that C has a serious allergy. 🤣
Her children are fine, the op's given them similar types of food.

CherryPavlova · 21/02/2020 19:41

I’ve been taken their by my daughter. It’s fabulous food. There are plenty of alternatives to suit all but contrary palettes. Her children sound like they could do with broadening their eating experiences.

C is being ridiculous and stopping her children trying new things. Tell her to bring sandwiches and sit outside whilst you eat. If you take her children with you, they’ll probably scoff away happily.

74NewStreet · 21/02/2020 19:41

Why would it matter if C’s kids had allergies? She muscled in on a trip she wasn’t invited on. The reasons it didn’t suit are totally irrelevant.

Chickoletta · 21/02/2020 19:45

There's a sushi bar in Truro Sainsbury's now. But C is still a CF!

Leeds2 · 21/02/2020 19:48

C is clearly BU.
But why doesn't she try to help her DC not to be as fussy as she is? I would want better for my children.

blackteaplease · 21/02/2020 19:50
  1. C is being unreasonable
  2. How did I not know there was sushi in Exeter, I may have to go there asap.
  3. C can go to one of the many many other restaurants in Exeter and meet you after.
Waveysnail · 21/02/2020 19:52

Surely they do some chicken in tempura

OscarWildesCat · 21/02/2020 19:53

C!

Eddielzzard · 21/02/2020 19:54

C is ridiculous, but I'm sure there's something on the menu she could eat. She shouldn't be dictating to the rest of you tho.

speakout · 21/02/2020 19:59

D

HavelockVetinari · 21/02/2020 20:02

C is clearly a CF, she can eat plain rice and steak if she's that fussy. Don't disappoint the bairns for her!
