Who is being U regarding lunch?

A and B have had a day out planned for a few months. Day out is a 2 hour trip away and the opportunity for their children to have lunch at a place that sells food they can not get anywhere near where they live. Children are really excited about this. C had asked to join trip last minute which is fine, however, C and children will not eat the food served at this place and has requested they eat at a chain restaurant which they can have in hometown. A and B have said no, kids have been looking forward to this for ages, however if C and kids want to eat somewhere else then that’s fine and they can meet again after. C is mad and saying they are being selfish and not accommodating her palate. A and B refusing to budge as they had trip planned months in advance.
Who is being unreasonable?

Sounds like sorted now but def c!

My friends go to see horror shows/films. I hate that stuff. I dont demand we go out and see something else I just meet them a diff time!

KatherineJaneway · 23/02/2020 12:09

@SidsWife

I had a monkfish tempura burger which was amaaaaazing!

That sounds amazing! I've never seen that on a menu before.

timeisnotaline · 23/02/2020 12:16

Poor Cs kids.
There is no sushi in Cornwall?! wanders off shaking head

juneo63 · 23/02/2020 12:37

@Crunchymum
Yes I did!!
But the two posts above me weren't there when I did my post!!!

Nanamilly · 23/02/2020 12:39

C is being unreasonable. You don't join in on a preplanned trip and ask for the arrangements to change.

Barney60 · 23/02/2020 12:52

c

ILikePaperHats · 23/02/2020 12:56

C is being totally unreasonable and pandering to her children's fussiness. She should be wanting to broaden their horizons. Surely most kids would eat chicken skewers and some rice or noodles?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 23/02/2020 13:09

C is!
I've just nosied at the menu - I absolutely love sushi and Japanese food, so loads of yummy stuff there I'd eat! Looks ace
I can think of one person I know though who's really fussy and would definitely turn their nose up.
Each to their own
HOWEVER she wasn't originally going to come, you've had this place booked and you're all looking forward to it for ages, she is being utterly unreasonable to expect you to change it just for her.
You don't just last minute tag on and expect everyone else to change for you, you go with them, not dictate!
Nothing wrong with meeting up with you afterwards, or having wine or whatever if there really was NOTHING on the menu I'd want.
That's what i'd do anyway lol

Gobbycop · 23/02/2020 13:21

D

FelicisNox · 23/02/2020 17:38

C no question.

She is gate crashing a pre planned trip and is then demanding others accommodate her differing tastes.

Totally inappropriate. End of.

I would uninvite her.

copperoliver · 23/02/2020 17:45

C

Mummy0f3xxx · 23/02/2020 18:46

C IS DEFINITELY BEEN UNREASONABLE! A AND B DO RIGHT BY STANDING THERE GROUND

Lweji · 23/02/2020 19:01

If only C cancelled...
That would be great.

SidsWife · 23/02/2020 19:36

@lweji cancelled the cheque?

OP posts:
AlCalavicci · 23/02/2020 20:28

@Gobbycop
Who is D ?

@Lweji ,
ummm come again ?

@SidsWife
I am glad you found a compromise that suited you and fussy C .
When are you going to take the DCs out ? can we have some pics of the food if you have not already been

Lweji · 23/02/2020 20:33

cancelled the cheque?

Unless you've already cashed it. Wink

TreeTopTim · 24/02/2020 09:54

I am glad that the situation has been sorted and hopefully there will be no animosity between A,B and C.

SidsWife · 24/02/2020 10:21

Definitely no animosity. She’s my best friend. Just a pain in the ass Grin

C is totally unreasonable! And how does she know her children won't like sushi or other things (unless they have SEN perhaps)?

I'm not keen on sushi but DD11 asked to try some the other day, so I got a £1 lunch pack for her in Tescos and she's hooked! Had it at a friends a few days later, and then again a pack from Morrisons at the weekend. Most were not raw fish to be fair, but anyway - C should not be telling her children what they will and won't like, unless they've actually tried it...…

And that menu has loads of other stuff on it. Looks yummy...!
