Who is being U regarding lunch?

A and B have had a day out planned for a few months. Day out is a 2 hour trip away and the opportunity for their children to have lunch at a place that sells food they can not get anywhere near where they live. Children are really excited about this. C had asked to join trip last minute which is fine, however, C and children will not eat the food served at this place and has requested they eat at a chain restaurant which they can have in hometown. A and B have said no, kids have been looking forward to this for ages, however if C and kids want to eat somewhere else then that’s fine and they can meet again after. C is mad and saying they are being selfish and not accommodating her palate. A and B refusing to budge as they had trip planned months in advance.
Who is being unreasonable?

Of course its c

theemmadilemma · 21/02/2020 18:41

C. It sounds like the trip in the main part is for the food so why on earth would you now change it.

Catapillarsruletheworld · 21/02/2020 18:43

Obviously it’s C being unreasonable.

Thinkingabout1t · 21/02/2020 18:44

Is C short for CF?

GreenTulips · 21/02/2020 18:46

we’ve only just got a kfc

We’ve got one coming in April! Can’t wait.

Lweji · 21/02/2020 18:50

I know my DS would be very upset if there was no sushi, even though he loves pizza and McDs.

At some point the only way to get him to agree to come to work with me (holidays) was the promise of a sushi lunch.

C and her kids should be more adventurous with their palate.

Lweji · 21/02/2020 18:53

Having said that, is it possible that it's the prices she doesn't like?

Still, she shouldn't try to make you go to a chain with her instead.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 21/02/2020 18:55

I don’t think I could live without KFC. I’m trying not to go there as I’m wedding dieting but man it makes my soul happy.

Katypyee · 21/02/2020 18:57

C is a CF.

Sushi is my kids favourite meal out! Plenty to eat on there if you don't like sushi too.

pooopypants · 21/02/2020 19:00

C

CF

KarmaStar · 21/02/2020 19:03

You don't have to ask do you?

HeronLanyon · 21/02/2020 19:07

C without question is being unreasonable. I think your idea of them smoking off somewhere else and meeting later is good. If she’s not happy then so be it. She can come on your next outing when you have all arranged it. She is joining an already planned thing - your kids are excited (and you).

HeronLanyon · 21/02/2020 19:07

Sloping not smoking.

AnneKipanki · 21/02/2020 19:10

C is unreasonable.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 21/02/2020 19:11

C is being very shellfish 😂

AnneKipanki · 21/02/2020 19:12

C and kids could always get a bucket while A and B plus kids have sushi .

AnneKipanki · 21/02/2020 19:12

😂@We3kingsoforientareandabump

Cherrysoup · 21/02/2020 19:14

The menu is fabulous and has something for everyone. I think your friend has a massive cheek saying you’re being selfish when you’re all excited for the sushi! She can meet you after she’s been to McDonalds, dear me!

AteAllTheAfterEights · 21/02/2020 19:15

I don’t like sushi and would happily eat off that menu CiBU

Mamato2gorgeousboys · 21/02/2020 19:18

C is being unreasonable. Tbh, if I was A and even if B has said about going to a chain, I would have suggested splitting for lunch. If it’s food we couldn’t get in our hometown, for me it would be more important for my dc to enjoy their day and experience something nice.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 21/02/2020 19:19

C is being very unreasonable and I am happy to take her place Grin

couchlover · 21/02/2020 19:20

C is totally being unreasonable. I am veggi and my kids are fussy non fish eaters but I would just suggest we eat elsewhere. No way would I expect it that plans to change for me.

MitziK · 21/02/2020 19:21

If you're going through all this effort to get yourselves to civilisation Devon, you stick with your sushi and leave them to IKEA and a 50p hotdog.

TalaxuArmiuna · 21/02/2020 19:22

C is BU

I wouldn't eat steak or sushi but who doesn't love tempura? it's stuff fried in batter. what's not to like? salmon tempura is surely acceptable to most kids. Just claim it's extra special fish fingers.

BarbaraofSeville · 21/02/2020 19:24

I really hope A and B stick to the original plan

So do I, because what usually happens in cases like this is that everyone inexplicably caves in and does what the unadventurous eater wants and never gets to go anywhere more interesting than mediocre food from boring chain restaurants.

OP do you have any Waitroses with a sushi counter down your way? It's made fresh in store and is world's apart from normal supermarket sushi. And yes officionados, it might not be authentic or as good as Japan or London etc, but in many places it's as good as it gets.
