Do you believe in Heaven ?

Just that. Do you believe in Heaven? If so what do you think it’s like. Im not religious but do believe there is a Heaven or would like to believe there some place we will see loved ones again and find peace ourselves.

Of course not. It's a ridiculous idea - as is Hell. I can absolutely understand the impulse to believe in it though - it must be comforting (probably).

I get why people would like it to be true, but there is no reason to suppose it is true. We don't assume that ants go to heaven or frogs.

I believe in reincarnation and that we can experience heavenly states the more we train our mind. But that just like this life, they are no more than an appearance to the mind like a dream. Not external places, just created by the mind. So heaven and hell and everything in between is possible, just like these places are created and experienced in dreams.

I don't believe in heaven, don't believe in anything supernatural. But when I face death, it's occurred to me that it could be comforting to revert to the faith I grew up with! Reunion with my dead loved ones, eternal bliss, what's not to like?

Therefore it's different for everyone. Same will hell. I think you'd face your worse nightmare over and over for an eternity.

I do, I believe we originate from Heaven and go back there when we are finished with this earthy life.

When you think that Donkeys are born with the cross on their back, and a Donkey carried Mary to give to birth to Jesus.
The way a baby grows from a tiny egg and sperm in just 9 months, and a little girl is born with all her eggs, so in effect her children.
You can't really argue that there must be something.

The thing I do question about Heaven and Hell. If we all go to either agrees be place or another. Where do ghosts come from. Are some peo ple given permission to go back down to earth or even up to earth to visit the livng.

Nope. I was brought up catholic and my husband believes but a good friend's death recently confirmed for me that I no longer believe in God or an afterlife.

Everything about us, our memories, personality, hopes and dreams, are stored in our brain (which is why all these things are affected by brain damage), and so once we are braindead there is literally no way for us to still exist as a person. It's clearly an act of pure fantasy to believe otherwise.

Millions of people all believe in exactly the same heaven, that cannot be a coincidence, so it must be true. Because lots of anecdotes = fact.

I believe heaven is place of peace and calm where our loved ones wait for us. I truly believe, when we lose some close to us, they watch over us and stay close.
Of course, I've no evidence either way, but that's my belief and it brings me comfort . I suppose that's called blind faith, even though I'm not one bit religious.

If believing in heaven (I do) makes you think twice before you are a dick to your fellow humans, then heaven is as important and valuable and true a belief as anything else.

I don't think so. I wouldn't like to think people who commit heinous crimes can repent on their deathbed and end up in the same place my amazing grandad is.

I hope it exists, my grandmother died last week and right up to the end, she said she would see all of us again in heaven. I miss her.
