To wonder why on earth Andrew Sabisky is in No.10 and find it worrying

He's an aide to Dominic Cummings according to reports and

-said women's sport is more comparable to the Paralympics that it is to mens sport

  • said it's unclear the extent to which FGM represents a serious risk to young girls
  • suggested enforced long term contraception at puberty to get around unplanned pregnancies creating what he describes as a permanent underclass.

Why is this man being allowed in number 10?

He also advocates the use of cognitive-enhancing drugs for children and thinks the side effects of "one dead kid a year" are worth it.

SimonJT · 16/02/2020 15:26

It’s simple, we have a right wing government, which means they are by default anti women, especially if said women aren’t white.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 15:28

I think when people are openly discussing enforced sterilisation of women we are in very dangerous territory

FrogsFrogs · 16/02/2020 15:31

I've never heard of this bloke but fucking hell that's terrifying.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 15:31

Hoik that's also terrible. Who says things like that.

FrogsFrogs · 16/02/2020 15:41

Googled him.

Long term contraception is something I am target uncomfortable with generally due to the possibility of a range of side effects and you are stuck with it, unlike the pill. Women on here who have had serious mental health side effects have been at the point where they were wanting to cut it out after docs refused to remove it, I think one or two did.

Studies show mixed results but certainly last year a large study linked hormonal contraception and really serious common side effects in teenage girls and young women- mental health issues, self harm, suicide.

The enforcing of such powerful and potentially devastating drugs on all girls in the UK at onset of puberty (he means periods? Which is not onset of puberty. Many girls start very young. Mine were both 10 yr 1 month). This will be a godsend to sexual abusers who like female children I would think? And with a possible massive negative effect from the drugs on the girls from a very young age.

Maybe he can wait till there is a male solution and enforce that on all boys and men but something tells me he wouldn't be keen on that idea...

Girls and women are of low/zero value to many people around the world.

In prisons where they let male inmates in with the women, I imagine they are getting around possibility of pregnancy through consensual sex or rape by forcing all women to have long acting contraception. I mean they must be doing something, right? Ideas about women and girls and contraception are awful really.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 15:51

Yes what I read FrogsFrogs said at onset of puberty.
This man thinks long term contraception should be legally enforced then and that vaccinations have set a precedent for this. Which like you say, could be very young in some girls. Not that I think this should be forced on women at any age of course. Horrifying.

Jesus! Angry

This government really does terrify me.

bringincrazyback · 16/02/2020 15:57

This, unfortunately.

Binterested · 16/02/2020 15:59

What a weirdo. Not only are men the default human beings but they are clearly the only human beings.

PettyContractor · 16/02/2020 16:17

He's someone who applied for a job when they specifically asked for wierdo's with radical ideas. In what seems like the unlikely even that he lasts much longer, I'd trust the people who want to get re-elected to ignore most of the stuff mentioned above.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 16/02/2020 16:20

This stuff won’t go down well with most Conservatives either.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 16:21

That's true pettycontractor But wasn't it Dominic Cummings who asked for the weirdos.. why is he getting this much influence anyway since he isn't elected. In the end the PM is letting Sabisky be employed by and have a say at number 10 and could put a stop to it.

You'd think so kalinkafoxtrot45 Let's hope so!

PettyContractor · 16/02/2020 16:23

I'm not sure what his point was with regard to comparing women's sport to the paralympics, but it could actually be a female-friendly one. He could be saying it's OK to exclude trans-women from women's events, because anything other than mens/open events are allowed to exclude/include any class of people they choose. So in a sporting context, it should be perfectly valid to define "woman" in anyway the sport chooses.

FrogsFrogs · 16/02/2020 16:23

If he does mean onset of puberty rather than periods then he'd put both mine on long term contraception from age 8.5...

Well ok mate.

Why do our government want advice from weirdos?

FrogsFrogs · 16/02/2020 16:23

I mean specifically asking for them to apply.

Nonnymum · 16/02/2020 16:24

It seems as though Cummings wants to turn the UK into a poor mams USA. I dread to think what the country will be like in 5 years time. It is so depressing.

Newmetoday · 16/02/2020 16:24

They aren’t anti women. They’ve had two female leaders ffs. Scaremongering at its finest

FrogsFrogs · 16/02/2020 16:25

That is a very very very generous view petty, especially given his other views on women.

He sees women as a lesser-than class.

Doubt he has much time for people with disabilities either.

Women aren't impaired men. We are a distinct group in our own right.

PettyContractor · 16/02/2020 16:26

With the sport thing, I'm just projecting. I do think instead of "mens" and "womens" sport, we should have "open" and "closed" where closed can restrict entry based on any criteria they like, including sex, age and disability. And the definition of sex can be anything they like.

Nonnymum · 16/02/2020 16:28

This stuff won’t go down well with most Conservatives
I'm honestly not sure that is true any more. They voted in this very right wing government knowing Cummings was Johnsons chief advisor and this is absolutely in keeping with his behaviour I am sorry to say his apoointment is no surprise.

PettyContractor · 16/02/2020 16:28

his other views on women

I've no idea what else he's said. Skimmed one newspaper article, then recognised him in the OP. TBH I don't even remember what I read, so with the sport thing, I really am just projecting my own ideas.

buttermilkwaffles · 16/02/2020 16:30

You also left out some of the other stuff he has said, OP: mobile.twitter.com/ianbirrell/status/1228809833434042369

AlexaShutUp · 16/02/2020 16:30

This is a guy who has also made statements in support of eugenics.

Nothing should surprise us any more about this government. The real question is, what are we going to do about it?
