To wonder why on earth Andrew Sabisky is in No.10 and find it worrying

He's an aide to Dominic Cummings according to reports and

-said women's sport is more comparable to the Paralympics that it is to mens sport

  • said it's unclear the extent to which FGM represents a serious risk to young girls
  • suggested enforced long term contraception at puberty to get around unplanned pregnancies creating what he describes as a permanent underclass.

Why is this man being allowed in number 10?

Newmetoday what is scaremongering. Cummings has appointed that man and those are his published views. Those are just the facts.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 16:34

Bloody hell buttermilkwaffles I hadn't seen that about saying black people have lower IQs than white. WTAF. Shock vile

I agree with what you said op, it is frightening but he's there. What are we or can we do about it?

Some people do hold very questionable views but at the end of the day he has an active interest in politics and the running of the country and has got the job.

Let's hope the others on no. 10 challenge him on these views and keep the extreme views at bay. The other alternative would be to get involved in politics as an mp who can position themselves to challenge him.

So yanbu in thinking what you do but yabu in the sense that unless you are working in those circles to make a difference then what do you propose you do?

There are questionable people in many influential roles the only people who can deal with them are the people they work with.

Insideimsprinting · 16/02/2020 16:40

AlexaShutUp

What are we going to do about it? Exactly, we can be horrified by him but the average Jo blocks like us can't so, unless my position in the world changes I'm not dwelling on it.

There are problems we can fix but he's not one of them.

Warsawa31 · 16/02/2020 16:41

Blimey, just looking through his previous tweets.
“A permanent underclass” is a horrific way of describing anyone.
None of his ideas should translate in any way towards policies or legislation.

I fear that even if they did the sheep would still vote in the tories.

Bluewavescrashing · 16/02/2020 16:41

How very Handmaid's Tale 😲

Patroclus · 16/02/2020 16:55

ohhh but its labour quietly nodding along to basic trans rights women we need to be worried about. Conservatives are above criticism.

rosie39forever · 16/02/2020 17:00

Well done to everyone who voted Tory, we're getting the government we deserve, Boris is a lazy egotist who is quite happy to let people like Cummings and Sabisky run the country for him less work for him, and once Braverman has dismantled the judiciary well all be fucked.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 18:17

I don't think Conservative voters are to blame as pretty sure none of them would have voted for this! I do blame the PM and the cabinet though, for letting this happen.

The real question is, what are we going to do about it?

Agreed. I don't know. But somehow standing by and ignoring this feels wrong.

OP posts:
Patroclus · 16/02/2020 18:44

Well they voted for a man who has frequent meetings with Steve fucking Bannon, so they did vote for this really.

Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 19:00

I don't think people realised, I suppose what I mean. Not helped by the lack of any decent opposition. At least that is one thing that will hopefully change soon.

OP posts:
Squeazypeasy · 16/02/2020 21:11

Apparently Labour have called for him to be sacked.

OP posts:
quicktan · 16/02/2020 21:20

Awful! Thanks for highlighting this.

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/02/2020 21:27

All parties appear to comprehensively hate females.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/02/2020 00:28

All parties appear to comprehensively hate females.

Seems like they comprehensively hate this bloke ...I'd never heard of him, so googled and I get this
'Ministers and special advisers are flatly refusing to work with Andrew Sabisky' :

Tellmetruth4 · 17/02/2020 04:13

Well if even the DM commenters are up in arms, you know Cummings has gone too far. We’re only a few weeks into the new government and the DM are starting to turn on them. Now the threat of Corbyn has gone, more scrutiny is being put on the Tories.

We were never a left wing country but we were also never an extreme right wing one. This will not end well for any of us.

Tellmetruth4 · 17/02/2020 04:19

I’m sure Walkingdeadfangirl/zombiefan et al will be along later to explain why hiring incel Twitter trolls is actually a positive thing and spout some whatabouterry about Corbyn who’s irrelevant.

user764329056 · 17/02/2020 04:39

“Much of the hue and cry seems like moral panic”

This is what he says about FGM

For all you Tory voters, pat yourselves on the back, congratulations on supporting a government that hires someone like this

Hopeisnotastrategy · 17/02/2020 06:01

He’ll not be there long. Allegedly many of the Cabinet are already refusing to work with him.

longwayoff · 17/02/2020 06:26

Ha! Expect him to be special adviser to Chancellor by next week. 5 years of this to come.

lljkk · 17/02/2020 06:30

Seems as if Milo Yianopolous got into govt.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 17/02/2020 06:31

I’m sure a lot of the thugspeople who voted for this government agree with that kind of remarks. And honestly, By voting for Boris, WTF was people expecting? A better Britain? Ha, they have put Cummins in power but probably they do not ev

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 17/02/2020 06:31

En know who Cummins is.

FleabagTeabag · 17/02/2020 08:40

I don't understand how this guy has ended up with a job as, what, a government advisor? Is there not a rigorous process for these types of jobs? I'd read he replied to an advert asking for 'weirdos' to apply but what was the thinking behind that campaign? It's baffling. And scary.

longwayoff · 17/02/2020 08:49

Interesting point fleabag. Years ago, a friend was seconded to the Cabinet Office, working with, but not employed by, government of the time. The security checking was extensive but other than that no further rigour applied. Worrying, especially when you know how strict civil service requirements are.
