Where have they gone?! Just used the last pack in the freezer and the supermarkets didn't have any when I went.

Any similar suggestions? Trying the birds eye ones tonight so will see how we go.

Hope the Quorn nuggets don't disappear now!

I probably am being unreasonable but I know what I like and I don't want to compromise 😁

Quorn seems to have vanished COMPLETELY from my local supermarkets (not UK).

WingDefence · 10/02/2020 14:59

I also am annoyed about the veganisation of veggie food. I'm gutted that Pizza Express has made its Giardiniera pizza a vegan one. For the other options, vegan cheese is not the standard and has to be requested but for some unknown reason, this one starts with the vegan cheese on top. Every time I order it I now have to request proper cheese at ordering and then double check when it comes (and I still inspect it with a beady eye in case they have forgotten). Why have they done that!?!

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 15:06

If I wanted to be a vegan then I'd become... (anyone?) a bloody vegan!

EvilPea · 10/02/2020 16:49

Just looked on Twitter. They seem to be discontinuing a lot of stuff

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 17:05

I was just in Tesco- quorn shelf was full or rather nasty looking ready made lasagne, cottage pie, curry etc. So more like a ready meal than a bit of a meal.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 10/02/2020 17:15

I’ll be gutted if they make all their products vegan. Vegan quorn is not nice and I feel like after 25 years of supporting them, that we’re being sold out for the Vegan fad. Just like in all the bloody restaurants.

I don’t want to be vegan!

DropZoneOne · 10/02/2020 17:26

*TellMeItsNotTrue

They have discontinued the best of British sausages*

WHAT?? WHY?? They were the best tasting ones, i tried a lot of veggie sausages before they came out and they were by far the best especially for barbecues.

I'm another getting fed up by the encroachment of vegan food. It usually involves the addition of chilli to compensate for any other flavour, and i hate chilli.

RiftGibbon · 10/02/2020 17:27

Blush the 'meatballs' I slated previously were not Co-Op but Waitrose. Horrible, horrible texture.
I shall track down and try the Co-Op ones.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 17:44

But it’s now February! All the veganarites have gone back to eating their Greg’s sausage rolls...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/02/2020 17:49

My guess also is that the majority of people buying vegan processed food are really meat eaters who want the occasional vegan product to make them feel better about eating meat, meaning that us vegetarians are now out in the cold and they have it both ways.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 17:52

Well I looked at the ‘vegan’ section of Tesco and it looked like vacuum packs of vomit or diarrhoea. Do vegans just hate food?

KatherineJaneway · 10/02/2020 17:54

But it’s now February! All the veganarites have gone back to eating their Greg’s sausage rolls.

And stopped going to the gym Grin

Tombakersscarf · 10/02/2020 17:54

It's a bad marketing decisions for quorn to go vegan as they are good at veggie food and their vegan stuff tastes shite

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 17:59

That’s pretty much what I said on my email (and bring back the hotdogs)

TellMeItsNotTrue · 10/02/2020 22:11

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, it was a sad day in our house when we found out 😔

I have struggled to get them since Christmas, thought maybe it was increase in purchases in January but towards the end of the month I checked their website and the best of British sausages had been removed, I then checked visitor posts on their Facebook page and it was basically post after post asking about the best of British sausages

TellMeItsNotTrue · 10/02/2020 22:13

I still mourn the lamb grills, and the frozen mini Cornish pasties and mini sausage rolls - they were amazing (fresh sausage rolls are crap)

I asked about the mini Cornish pasties (should be Quornish!) and sausage rolls a few years back and they said they would be back out for Christmas period - even bigger disappointment when that didn't bloody happen and they have never been seen again 🤬

PumpkinP · 10/02/2020 22:27

I was looking for them the other day and couldn’t find them. But I also couldn’t find the birds eye ones either. I’m also getting sick of everything being vegan. I went somewhere the other day and asked if something was vegetarian and got “yeah, but it’s not vegan!” Well if I cared if it was vegan I would have asked! I’ve never had that response before when asking if something was vegetarian, everyone jumping on the vegan bandwagon.

thenightsky · 10/02/2020 22:40

quorn shelf was full or rather nasty looking ready made lasagne, cottage pie, curry etc. So more like a ready meal than a bit of a meal.

Yes. If I want a quorn lasagne, I want to buy a bag of mince to make my own enormous dish with decent (non-vegan) mature cheddar cheese sauce, to feed a family of four plus guests, not a little plastic tray of bland ready-made stuff.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/02/2020 22:45

I have a feeling that for many 'vegan' is the new 'gluten-free'.

Crockof · 10/02/2020 22:47

I've moved over to the gro range at co-op. Definitely the best new product. I've also supported Quorn for years and I'm sad that they are ruining it. Quorn vegan sausages are inedible.
To a pp, no vegans don't hate food, but equally they don't eat this new processed crap.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/02/2020 22:51

The gluten free sausages taste weird. On their twitter account they are saying that yes, they HAVE stopped making the best of British sausages (shit) but the meatballs and patties are just sold out because of the recent high demand (dammit veganary). Please tweet them to voice your demands...

LionelRitchieStoleMyNotebook · 10/02/2020 23:08

The IKEA veggie balls are nice, not really like Quorn but tasty!

Arseaboutdarkly · 10/02/2020 23:10

DP loves those ikea things as well. They're more like falafel I think, not really a meat substitute but they're very nice and probably better for you

Lordfrontpaw · 11/02/2020 06:58

The are definitely courting the fast food outlet and ready made markets. So horrible ready made packs rather than ‘elements’ of a meal - I don’t want to buy a pie or curry, scotch eggs or sausage roll. I don’t want an inferior tasting vegan version of something I enjoy!

I have been eating Quorn for pushing 25 years now. Now it’s gone mainstream and vegan it’s just making the food I don’t want and the taste is going downhill.
