To be worried about Trump getting a 2nd term

Gemm83 · 05/02/2020 10:11

Anyone else?

I actually think that he will and quite frankly it scares me.

He actually said that America was respected again, under his presidency. It frightens me that they are a number of individuals in America that will believe this dross.

I thought after 4 years, people would of had enough..now its closer I'm starting to think otherwise 🙄

Thoughts?

@ChangingChanging123 The only thing Sanders will do is force the republicans who don’t want Trump is to force them to vote Trump

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 05/02/2020 12:43

I don't see how what he has said is 'racist'.

Oh dear. Can't help you with that, unfortunately - no cure for stupid.

PaddyF0dder · 05/02/2020 12:44

I’m resigned to him getting a second term. It feels guaranteed.

Let’s just grit our teeth (and hope he dies of a miserably painful illness brought on by age and poor lifestyle).

Lweji · 05/02/2020 12:45

With any luck he'll get E. coli from his McDs.

UYScuti · 05/02/2020 12:47

There are multiple signs of cognitive decline surely it can't be long before he's just a babbling idiot ....oh sorry even more of a babbling idiot 🙄

UYScuti · 05/02/2020 12:49

Imo Bernie Sanders just looks like a doddery old man, he makes trump look strong and capable🙈

Saddler · 05/02/2020 12:50

He's got a good chance of another 4 years 🤞🏻

PhilCornwall1 · 05/02/2020 12:50

We've vowed not to go to the US while he's President so I'm worried I'll never get back there!

Well, he can only have one more term, not as if he can be there indefinitely.

leckford · 05/02/2020 12:51

I’m not following it closely but the Democratic seems as clueless as Corbyn and his idiots followers so I think he will probably get back in. Americans do think differently to people in the U.K., especially in the middle of the country which they refer to as ‘the fly over states’ you fly over them to get to somewhere important.

Lweji · 05/02/2020 12:51

Bernie is not my favourite by a long mile, but still... the only people who can make Trump look strong and capable are in his government, or his legal team.

GotYourNose · 05/02/2020 12:52

Yes the USA, a democracy that respects human rights, is better than the authoritarian regime that suppress personal freedoms.

tiggertogger · 05/02/2020 12:53

Why are you scared? How does it actually affect your life? All this scaremongering for no real threat 🤷🏻‍♀️ I dislike the man and what he stands for but yours is a very immature post.

Lweji · 05/02/2020 12:54

I didn't compare the USA with China. I compared Trump with the Chinese government.

Trump has very little regard for human rights, have you not noticed?

GotYourNose · 05/02/2020 13:00

Is he locking up millions of Muslims and putting them in concentration camps? No. He has stopped a few illegal immigrants from swarming his country. Get some perspective. Btw Obama deported more immigrants in his first 6 months than Trump has in his whole administration.

ElsieMc · 05/02/2020 13:02

He will get back in for the same reason Boris got in, because there is no effective opposition.

I think he is scary. He runs the country like a businessman, not a politician as seen by the ruthless way he sacks or badmouths anyone he takes a dislike to or opposes him just as he would sack someone in business. Here we have a "re-shuffle" occasionally or a resignation when there is a monumental cock up of some sort.

Again, he is bolstered by his own impeachment. It is seen as the undermining of the presidency. The tories couldn't get anything through without the support of the DUP and I simply don't believe people - American or British - like to see their elected representatives being held to ransom in some way. Our December election proved that.

He will win another term no matter what he does. You only have to look at Boris's gaffes. I want to believe there are people close to him who are the voice of common sense and rein him in or at least I really hope so.

Lweji · 05/02/2020 13:03

He is putting children in concentration camps.

GotYourNose · 05/02/2020 13:08

Temporary incarceration due to criminal actions taken by their parents is not the same as the systematic arrest and forced re-education that the Chinese are doing

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 05/02/2020 13:12

GotYourNose if the best you can say of him is he's better than the government in China... Grin

PaddyF0dder · 05/02/2020 13:28

@GotYourNose

I truly hope that at some point in your life you learn that two wrongs do not make a right.

It seems like a fundamental and fairly obvious thing that most of us learn in our youth, but I suppose for some people it’s a bit more of a challenge.

Leaannb · 05/02/2020 13:32

@Goryoirnose He is deporting parents and keeping the children in detainment camps. Kids are being ripped from their parents over his shit.

Gemm83 · 05/02/2020 13:43

Is Bernie still the front runner? 🤦‍♀️

In the Iowa caucus, Pete Buttigieg got the most votes, closely followed by Sanders, both at around 25%.

Maybe he's the man to watch.

Lweji · 05/02/2020 14:33

About the children separated from their parents at the US border.

apnews.com/015702afdb4d4fbf85cf5070cd2c6824

"The nearly 70,000 migrant children who were held in government custody this year — up 42 percent in fiscal year 2019 from 2018 — spent more time in shelters and away from their families than in prior years. The Trump administration’s series of strict immigration policies has increased the time children spend in detention, despite the government’s own acknowledgment that it does them harm."

BTW, I mentioned the Chinese government because on another thread Got was on a mission to denounce the Chinese government about the corona virus, while being on a mission here supporting Trump. Interesting reading.

samyeagar · 05/02/2020 15:48

He is putting children in concentration camps.

And the repeated ridiculous use of this type of hyperbole right here is why he is going to get reelected.

Yes, children are being separated from parents at the border. Yes, it's not a good situation, but it is in no way shape or form comparable to to the images the use of that word is trying to conjure.

Leaannb · 05/02/2020 15:58

@Samueagar I agree they shouldn’t be called concentration camps which is why I called them detainment camps. However, you want to say it is still deplorable to rip children from their parents and them back to their home country while their children who are American citizens are detained in warehouses, separated by chain link fences in overcrowded cells with just an aluminum foil blanket and the clothes on their back for warmth. We aren’t much different than China
