It is done, what will be will be... what is the point in getting stressed over it now?

'Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.'

Wow... so because my opinion doesn't meet with that of many, I have received a lot of abuse. No worries. That seems to make it ok for people to call me names e.g. 'goady fucker' and more. What happened to healthy debate? Remoaners just prove why they were outvoted in my humble opinion

Pywife2 · 01/02/2020 00:07

You can carry on getting stressed about it, but it will make no difference to the outcome of Brexit... it will only impact your own mindset. If you're ok with that, then carry on. Personally I'd rather let my own mind be taken up with things I can actually do something about x

But takes the time to start a thread about the issue. Hmm

FlourBug · 01/02/2020 00:09

You're not debating - the very opposite, telling people to get over it. You're deliberately trying to provoke people and grind them down - fortunately it's a very tired technique and visible a mile off so cetainly won't work with me

ItWillBeBetterinAugust · 01/02/2020 00:10

Brexiteers are obsessed with telling people to get over it, it's quite peculiar.

I remember being told "it's done now, get over it" about Brexit the day after the vote in 2016 - which I still think was very telling indeed about brexiteer insight...

TheBlueStocking · 01/02/2020 00:10

Stupid post

StCharlotte · 01/02/2020 00:11

We will be fine.

I'll hold you to that!

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:13

@pywife2 yep, a few seconds in the big grand scheme of things 😂 Ahh bless you xx

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 00:13

Of course the OP is deliberately goading. She just doesn't like being challenged.

And I can't get over someone using the term remoaner and criticising other people's language.

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:15

@stcharlotte Great! Shall we schedule a date in 2022 to catch up? 😊

OP posts:
Pywife2 · 01/02/2020 00:17

Bless you too, my child. Your sincerity shines from your posts. A few seconds, two hours, who's counting.

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:18

@ilovesooty For the last time, I am not deliberately goading anyone!! These are just my opinions and if people don't agree/see them as goading then that is on them!!

OP posts:
Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:19

Yes it is happening and there is nothing to do to prevent it but it doesn't then logically follow that 'we'll be fine' as you state.
It might be, it might not be, depending on your definition of 'fine'.

ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 00:24

@Lifeonmars77 pull the other one.

ForestDad · 01/02/2020 00:25

Yabu to say just get over it.
We will be fine: jury's out.
I'll be ok; whether the people who mainly voted for this will be any better off we'll see.

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:27

OP I think you are being disingenuous in your protestations of innocence, 'I'm not being goady'.

'Goady' is not an adjective I would use, more like provocative.

You have to have known that in posting this thread with your opening comments, on the day we leave the EU, on the most divisive subject of recent times, that you'd be stirring the pot. It's obvious isn't it, that you'd receive comments that range from virulent disagreement to hostility, on this emotive day?

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:28

'We'll be fine' is my opinion. I don't expect anyone to agree or have the same expectation as me. So please don't see this as me trying to force my opinion on others, but if this is what I believe,.don't disrespect it by calling me names, getting your knickers in a twist/getting on your high horse. We all have our own opinions. Let us respect that x

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 00:29

@Deadsouls she's posted on Brexit threads before. Of course she knew what she was doing.

FlourBug · 01/02/2020 00:32

Probably better off letting the thread die out - being ignored is the greatest punishment

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:34

Of course you can have your opinion and belief but you posted this in AIBU, which is a forum in which there is usually disagreement or agreement, and sometimes a gray area in between.

So some people disagree with your opinion as you state it.

I still maintain that it is a provocative post because of the reasons I've already stated. If you can't see this, then you must be a quite naive to not expect you'd get some hostile replies.

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:34

@ilovesooty what have I done wrong exactly? Or am I only allowed to post things that should attract people that will agree with me/the majority??

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 00:36

@FlourBug you're probably right. I've wasted too much time on her already really.

Rubybluesy · 01/02/2020 00:49

Double bollocks

Lifeonmars77 · 01/02/2020 00:53

Right, seriously. Can any of you please advise on this? Genuinely. Those of you that are mad/raging/stressing/worrying/upset over the decision to leave the EU, which incidentally has already happened. Could you please explain, logically, what that emotion will realistically achieve and change in terms of the outcome you require?

OP posts:
sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 01/02/2020 00:53

OP, can you explain your confidence in your assertion that 'we'll be fine'?
Please provide all supporting evidence upon which this is based, and what reports you have consulted to have come to this conclusion. I'm sure my many, many friends who are directly going to lose jobs, funding etc will be reassured. Not to mention those who are in a state of limbo as to whether they will be allowed to continue living here, or within the EU as a result.
Genuinely would love to see all the research you've done into trade deals, supply chains, and EU regulations too. Surprise me! Cheer me up with solid factual information and data that 'we will be fine'!
