To think that Brexit is happening. Just get over it. We will be fine.

It is done, what will be will be... what is the point in getting stressed over it now?

Its brexit day

Why can’t you let people who are sad about it be sad about it In peace

People get sad about all sorts of things...ive no idea why people think that starting a thread about how silly it is to be sad helps people to not be sad!

ilovesooty · 31/01/2020 22:58

If you can't see it I don't think I can be bothered to explain it to you.

UnderperformingSeal · 31/01/2020 22:59

I hope I'm wrong but I have a horrible feeling that it's going to let loose some pretty big chickens (don't ask me specifically which ones, it's just a hunch, I'm no political analyst) and in two, three, four, five years time they'll come home to roost and the leavers will blame everyone but themselves.

berryfull · 31/01/2020 23:00

I’m in Scotland too and the country is devastated by this. Can’t believe we have to share this island with you bunch of twats.

Sunshinegirl82 · 31/01/2020 23:00

I have no intention of accepting it. As soon as a campaign to rejoin gets going I will get behind it.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 31/01/2020 23:01

Do you know, it will be fine...cos it will be the eye opening shit show that will push the unsure into the yes camp for Scottish independence and we will wave goodbye to that shower of Tory bastards in Westminster.

Sunshinegirl82 · 31/01/2020 23:01

@berryfull we're not all twats, honest!

Redcrayons · 31/01/2020 23:01

There's loads of fireworks just started here. Twats.

irregularegular · 31/01/2020 23:02

I appreciate that people are 'devastated' etc. But seriously, what is the point? Just because you're sad about it, will not change where we are! So surely we just have to make the best of what has been dealt to us? What is 'goady' about that?

Would you say the same to someone who had just been bereaved? Just because you are sad about it, it will not change anything..

And no, obviously it is not the same thing. But it is not that different either.

Lifeonmars77 · 31/01/2020 23:03

If being sad is how people want to spend their time, let them be. It is their time and they could choose many reasons to be happy, but if being sad is their priority then that is their choice. Let them wallow in their sadness. Personally I have many reasons to be happy so I'm going to focus on those x

Agree. Let’s move on.

Lifeonmars77 · 31/01/2020 23:05

@irregularegular are you seriously comparing Brexit to personal bereavement? Bless you.

Greenpop21 · 31/01/2020 23:06

The remoaners are getting so tiresome, I’m sick of it and I voted remain.

BlueWonder · 31/01/2020 23:06

You don't even know the half of it yet. 90% of 'leavers' will be begging for a referendum to get back in within a decade.

Floribundance · 31/01/2020 23:06

Sorry, I can’t ‘get over it’ right now because I’m busy comforting my dog who’s quivering in fear because some cunts are setting off fireworks

Notthissh1tagain · 31/01/2020 23:07

Lots of lyrics in my head tonight

"Its the end of the world as we know it"

"The Day the music UK died.

Any others?

Seriously though I'm be fine. If you're a Brexiteer - well I couldn't really give a fuck if you are fine or not. You voted for it. You own it

Sleeveen · 31/01/2020 23:07

Are you an unusually passive person, OP, or just politically illiterate?

Greenpop21 · 31/01/2020 23:07

Stop swearing at people who don’t agree with your personal opinion. Do you really think that will change minds? You’re just alienating yourself.

DameXanaduBramble · 31/01/2020 23:08

Get t’fook

tinytemper66 · 31/01/2020 23:08

So patriotic that they had to have the words of the National Anthem projected on a big screen! 😂😂😂

MordredsOrrery · 31/01/2020 23:09

Ah yes, celebrating removing my rights. Can't see the wisdom in that. Sorry.

Personally I have many reasons to be happy

That's great for you. But extremely crass and lacking in class to fling that at people who aren't as fortunate.

Chloemol · 31/01/2020 23:09

Very brave op bearing in mind most of MN will disagree, as evidence by the posts so far.

I also agree it’s time to move on, bitterness over what’s happened won’t make you feel better, you just remain angry which is a wasted emotion.

But all you ones who are still angry carry on, getting more and more bitter

Floribundance · 31/01/2020 23:09

‘are you seriously comparing Brexit to personal bereavement’

I’ll miss being in the EU way more than I’ve missed many of my dead relatives. I’d also trade most of my living cousins for a red passport.

FlourBug · 31/01/2020 23:09

You can carry on getting stressed about it, but it will make no difference to the outcome of Brexit... it will only impact your own mindset.

That sounds so Big Brother. When we went into the Common Market and all the other stages of our membership of the EU people who were opposed did not 'get over it' and i'm sure they wouldn't have taken kindly to being instructed to.

Sunshinegirl82 · 31/01/2020 23:10

Move on?! We haven't even started yet, this will go on for DECADES. This will impact people for years and years.

I have spent my entire working life in the shadow of the financial crash and then just as things started to right themselves we CHOSE to create unprecedented amounts of political and economic uncertainty. Billions have already been spent on this and we will need to spend billions more. I can't find a way to be ok with that.
