To think not many people will turn up for the Brexshit 'celebration' in London

I see they've put flags down the mall but I feel like not many people will turn up for this. I know there's the big draw of farage, Widdecombe, and possibly the racist Jim Davidson. AIBU to think there's not likely to be a big turnout?

Nobody will turn up to a big public event because of fears about coronavirus

Now, that is getting your excuses in. Hilarious!

ShonaAndTheWaterHorse · 01/02/2020 00:03

What a nasty piece of work you are Patroclus

I'm a Remainer but I certainly wouldn't want to be a "fellow Remainer" with you.

ShonaAndTheWaterHorse · 01/02/2020 00:06

There are some really vile comments from others I would not want to call "fellow remainers"

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 01/02/2020 00:07

FFS

So many brown nose self interested remoaners on this website

They DID show up . In their THOUSANDS .

MissGuernsey · 01/02/2020 00:08

Well you were fucking wrong!

Patroclus · 01/02/2020 00:21

Cant tell if you're all going a bit mad cos you're out of your tabloid echo chamber or just drunk. Oh dear im distraught rabbits! I never consider the morally weak to be 'fellows' anyway. Enjoy your new 'krauts wont push us around' friends.

Both sky and itv news say “hundreds” in parliament square

So proud to have been at one of the people’s vote marches where you could barely move there were so many people

Doesn’t matter though they’ve got their way. Doubt their happy feeling will last long.

I tell you what will make me feel happy - when £350 million extra a week is ploughed into the NHS. I’m sure BJ can do it he's sooooo amazing Hmm

CharlotteMD · 01/02/2020 00:30

Parliament square was absolutely rammed , some estimates are up to 50,000 people !.

Snowy111 · 01/02/2020 00:35

BBC also saying “hundreds”

Saddler · 01/02/2020 00:36

Looked like a big turn out to me. The only turnout that mattered was in June 2016 and December 2019 thought 😘

From the BBC 'Hundreds gathered in Parliament Square to celebrate Brexit, singing patriotic songs and cheering speeches from leading Brexiteers, including Nigel Farage.'

Oulu · 01/02/2020 00:55

Seems to have been a few hundred at most, many of those the EDL tendency. Compare and contrast with the hundreds of thousands who turned up for demonstrations against Brexit.

Patroclus · 01/02/2020 01:00

Im worried, all our greatest minds should have been working at this important time but these seem to be at the celebration/village fete.

They can’t win, can they? Knocked for a paltry turnout and knocked for gloating if they celebrate too much. Which is it? Are they making too much effort or not enough? Hmm

dimsum123 · 01/02/2020 05:19

@WhereShallWeMoveTo, no you're right they can't win. None of us can. The leavers think they've won but they haven't, we've all lost. The leavers just don't know it yet.

WhereShallWeMoveTo · 01/02/2020 05:26

That’s not what I meant and you know it. If they celebrate or seem relieved that it’s finally happening they are ‘crowing’ or ‘gloating.’ If they don’t celebrate enough they can’t be bothered and are too lazy to go out in the rain. 🤷‍♀️🤔

dimsum123 · 01/02/2020 06:52

True, Brexiteers are just wrong in every way imaginable.

Just dropping this here again

Shmithecat2 · 01/02/2020 07:04

Looks like there was quite a turnout OP.

Well if thousands of people turned out in the rain to watch Farage, Widdecombe, Tice, that bloke from Wetherspoons etc then good luck to them. I hope they also enjoy the next few years and the consequences of what they've inflicted on the whole country, as well as themselves.

If it all turns out marvellously nobody will be more pleased than me. Perfectly happy to apologise if that's the case. Let's see how things are going in two or three years.

This video (thanks P) sums up what remainers think of leavers. I can’t believe what’s happening to this country because so many people are so blind and brainwashed

twitter.com/i/status/1223377890655506433

And further down the link page - Brussels put on a festival of Britishness, while leavers burn EU flags.

Sooooo proud to be British today Hmm

wincarwoo · 01/02/2020 08:32

@Everanewbie not sure you're quite up to speed

PhilSwagielka · 01/02/2020 09:00

@KenDodd I'm not victim blaming. I just think it's a really, really bad idea.

As for locking up Remainers, how is that possible? Like...there are a lot of us. The prisons would be full. Save space for real criminals.

It's like Trump's inauguration again!

Lordfrontpaw · 01/02/2020 09:27

Did Farage get his German passport? Has he still got that rude french girlfriend? Yup he’s a little Brit alright.
