I love being German, it makes me feel unique, I know after Brexit there is anti EU sentiment but I LOVE being from Germany!

How lovely for you

Hmm
Mazyka · 15/01/2020 21:29

Population of Germany around 83 million..... so yes, unique Crown Grin

Good for you.

Lamentations · 15/01/2020 21:29

I don't think there's any anti Germany or any other country sentiment just because people are opposed to being part of a union. I hope you don't feel that.

KurriKurri · 15/01/2020 21:29

Why does it make you feel unique - surely there are other Germans in the world?

JustMyName · 15/01/2020 21:29

Where are you from in Germany?

KenDodd · 15/01/2020 21:29

YANBU
I wish I was German. :)

Isbutteracarb · 15/01/2020 21:30

You do have the best bread...

StarbucksSmarterSister · 15/01/2020 21:30

I worked for years for a German company. My colleagues were fantastic.

Retroflex · 15/01/2020 21:31

Well I'm proud to be Scottish, and we are a very welcoming country with minimal "anti EU sentiment" as you put it, because we categorically as a country voted against Brexit, so... Hmm

PristineCondition · 15/01/2020 21:31

Unique?
I'm German born and live in England and there's literally gazillions of us here.

KenDodd · 15/01/2020 21:32

@Lamentations
Oh, come on! You can't possibly not see all the anti immigrant feeling around.

Retroflex · 15/01/2020 21:32

Feel free to move here if you're currently living in the UK and don't feel welcome...

Glovesick · 15/01/2020 21:32

I am not actually German, but lived there a long time. I get a fair bit of prejudice against Germans, once people know I lived there.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 15/01/2020 21:33

I wish I was German.

This ^ . At least for the last 3 years. Grin

ilovepixie · 15/01/2020 21:34

I love currywurst I would love one right now. Also loved pea chocolate and paprika chip sticks from Germany!

MsPeachh · 15/01/2020 21:35

I work with a few Germans and they are all fab!

MrsJoshNavidi · 15/01/2020 21:35

Well, I love being Welsh, so boo to you!

CarpeSocolatum · 15/01/2020 21:35

You do have the best bread...

Well no tiger bread and no Warburtons so, Bretzels aside, I cannot agree with you Wink Grin

Wheresthebiffer2 · 15/01/2020 21:37

Strangely, I know two other people also from Germany, and they also love being German. Did you have to take self-confidence classes at school to ensure you all ended up with BIG egos?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/01/2020 21:38

In my old job I loved working with the team in Germany. I’m a lawyer and I always got clear answers of them and they had a great sense of humour.

Lamentations · 15/01/2020 21:39

KenDodd perhaps it depends where you live. I really haven't. I don't think everyone's come over all English Defence League since Brexit started.

cousinboneless · 15/01/2020 21:41

You can be proud of yourself and where you're from without making a point of it.
Most don't feel the need to broadcast it to others. I'm not sure why you feel it necessary. It doesn't make you better than anyone else, regardless of where they're from.

RedLorryYellowLorryRedLorry · 15/01/2020 21:42

YANBU to be German and to love it and be proud of it.

YABU to feel unique because of it Grin

BeardedMum · 15/01/2020 21:43

I am not German but love not being British. YANBU for loving not being British.

Plumbus · 15/01/2020 21:43

Du bist nicht unvernünftig.
