I love being German, it makes me feel unique, I know after Brexit there is anti EU sentiment but I LOVE being from Germany!

What's the best thing about being German?

theoriginalmadambee · 15/01/2020 23:04

I love your breakfasts and your sausages. Glad to be Scandinavian though Smile.

HighNetGirth · 15/01/2020 23:06

The beer, surely.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 15/01/2020 23:08

How lovely for you.

GoodDogBellaBoo · 15/01/2020 23:25

HYGGE is all I have to say..and no need to brag about it either.

ViciousJackdaw · 15/01/2020 23:44

@KenDodd With that username, I reckon you're pro-Deutsch for the same reason as me 👓⚽🏆

Chocolatemice · 15/01/2020 23:53

It would be a terrible shame if you didn’t. I’m human and I LOVE IT. Isn’t this a fun game?

PickAChew · 15/01/2020 23:56

It's only people like my late 80s ex FIL who have anti german sentiment. He was equally anti brown skin, anti Lancashire and so on.

BorneoBabe · 15/01/2020 23:57

YANBU. Germans are the best. I love when they apologise for their 'poor English', and then go on to speak it better than any English person ever has in the history of the language. Grin

StoneofDestiny · 15/01/2020 23:59

I love being Scottish - just saying.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Durgasarrow · 15/01/2020 23:59

Why shouldn't you love your own country?

SockQueen · 16/01/2020 00:00

My DSis has German citizenship and lives there. I'm quite jealous with all the Brexit shite going on here.

FramingDevice · 16/01/2020 00:03

Half the Germans I know want to be Irish.

ShakeItUp · 16/01/2020 00:05

Fellow German here, married to a Scotsman.
Politics are fun in this house 😂

hagsrus0 · 16/01/2020 00:05

For he himself has said it,
And it's greatly to his credit,
That he is an Englishman!

For he might have been a Roosian,
A French, or Turk, or Proosian,
Or perhaps Itali-an!

But in spite of all temptations
To belong to other nations,
He remains an Englishman!
He remains an Englishman!

windycuntryside · 16/01/2020 00:08

Yabu to not realise that you are not unique.
Where is my proof? There will be others from Germany and they will also be proud.
I’m interested to know why you think anyone would be interested????

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 16/01/2020 00:11

Isn't this OP the definition of nationalism? Which, you know, is rather frowned upon by the Remainer crowd?

Dita73 · 16/01/2020 00:12

YANBU Germany is a beautiful country and the people are absolutely lovely

Besidesthepoint · 16/01/2020 00:13

@SheSawHorsesHorsesHorses

Schnitzel originates from Austria

But yes, german sausages are the best. weisswurst, krakauer, tueringer, all are lovely.

I'm happy to be Dutch myself, but also wouldn't have minded to be Danish or Swedish.

CatAndHisKit · 16/01/2020 00:20

I love Britain even though born elsewhere (lived here all my adult life) it's the case of 'in sickness and in health' for me!

CatAndHisKit · 16/01/2020 00:20

But if it wasn't for the above, I wouldn't mind being French or Danish.

theoriginalmadambee · 16/01/2020 00:28

@Besidesthepoint
I'm Danish, lived in the Netherlands for a while, it was lovely and in some areas we are quite alike WinkSmile.

EL8888 · 16/01/2020 00:28

Well, you are hardly unique…. If l was to choose which nationality to be then German wouldn't even hit my top 20 l am afraid. I would prefer to be something more like Swedish, Brazilian, Finnish etc

Kleptronic · 16/01/2020 00:57

I worked for a German company and there were some wrong 'uns amongst them.

I now work for a British company and there are also individuals I would not buy a pint.
