I love being German, it makes me feel unique, I know after Brexit there is anti EU sentiment but I LOVE being from Germany!

I'm proud to be English

Mammyofasuperbaby · 16/01/2020 12:36

I'm German too, but the only other Germans I know are my family. I love being German but there is a lot of miseducation where I live which has lead to a lot of anti German sentiment. It has made me cautious about who I tell but im so proud of my heritage and there's no shame in that

YANBU. I’m proud of my nationalities too 😊

I really like Germany - I like the people, food, drink etc and just generally find it very cultured and civilised 😊

#ESC2019 Germany

Not that strong an entry, tbh.

geekone · 16/01/2020 12:59

YANBU I think everything sounds much more important with a German accent

I also love being Scottish

JulietJanuary · 16/01/2020 12:59

I love the umlaut.

I was born in Britain but can’t say I am British.

I don’t really have a nationality to be proud of as my family are from North Africa, Italy, Central Europe and West Indies and Welsh. I have a gf who said he was British but was more Greek than British

Brefugee · 16/01/2020 13:25

they all enjoy digging holes on the beach. They also have absolutely no idea how much the Dutch here hate them. Poor Germans.

I wouldn't bet on it - they probably just hate them right back. It's mayhem here when they play The Netherlands at football.

Also: i have loads and loads of people who have commiserated me on Brexit, ask if the country went mad, etc etc. A couple of people I've spoken to recently, who i don't know personally (via work things) have asked me if I'm ok for Brexit or if they can help me in some way.

Am annoyed though. When i was applying for citizenship they promised me a better footy team. Then the world cup happened...
