Just that really. OK so I know I will get told to focus on my own life and that I'm jealous etc I do actually like watching Holly on TV but I can't help hut think she constantly lands on her feet, I know no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors but she is genuinely happy, I don't think you could fake that everyday! She's super rich, seems to have a nice husband and family life, no money struggles wondering how she is going to pay a bill, always getting new job roles, I don't understand how every area in her life can be so perfect. Over the years I have watched this morning whilst going through phases of being so poor and now a marriage breakup, so I understand you will think its my own issues why I feel like this but I'm just wondering how people go through life getting good things thrown at them and some have shit. Yes she works hard hut don't we all she just got lucky yo be working on TV which not everyone has the chance to do to warn millions

The point of being a professional is that you make your job look easy. She is a professional.

Comparing yourself never works.

Marie Kondo your house, Veganary your January, join a free running club, find a counsellor to work through your own stuff- take some positive action and see what happens. Nothing changes if nothing changes but most people wait for a negative change to happen to them rather than choosing the positive. You can choose a positive change.

shortytrekker · 12/01/2020 09:16

I think she's a bloody hard worker to be honest. I also expect she's very career driven.

Also it really irks me when people assume those on tv are rolling in it. I'm sure she and her husband are sensible with money but people will live to they means. They may still have financial worries at times, just not like my own (finding money for school lunch food this week...). Just look at Katy Price!

I'm not a daytime tv fan and avoid this morning and the like, I'm not a fan of Holly but I do have respect for her career success.

Doubleraspberry · 12/01/2020 09:21

People do live to their means but it is reasonable for someone living on minimum wage to lack sympathy for those who spend seven-figure salaries unwisely and end up with money stress as a result.

No idea at all if Holly is one of those of course. I know nothing about her other than her lack of school run misery.

Sundancer77 · 12/01/2020 09:23

Fearne seems nice, there was the thing of them being best friends for years, but rarely any pics of them out together etc.

zoobincan · 12/01/2020 09:29

Does it? Why is that? With a £600k salary and a net worth of several million I think it's reasonable to say Holly is 'rolling in it'

I'm sure she and her husband are sensible with money but people will live to they means.

Well yes, but there means are fucking massive

They may still have financial worries at times, just not like my own (finding money for school lunch food this week...). Just look at Katy Price!

Katie Price has financial issues because she wasn't the 'clever businesswoman' that so many people tried to say she was. Her issues came down to her stupidity and lack of financial sensibility. Using someone like that as an example of how TV starts are not 'rolling in it' doesn't work. Katie Price WAS rolling in it. She just chose to be a twat with it.

Agreed. Its not like KP fell into bankruptcy because of some awful tragedy that befell her or something outside of her control ruined it. She had 43 million at one point. 43 MILLION. But she blew through the lot with poor business decisions and uncontrolled/frivolous spending. Her problem is arrogance, she assumed that she would always be popular and would always have people wanting to see her on tv and the fact is, they didnt. If she had wisely invested a chunk of that cash when she had it, she could be worth double that by now. Its not as if she couldn't afford to have a financial advisor either.

Doubleraspberry · 12/01/2020 10:08

Oh, Katie Price never had £43m. Who knows where that figure came from but it’s fantasy. She had plenty of money though.

BlueEyedGreeness · 12/01/2020 10:15

I don't like her, I bought her 'parenting' book and it's full of judging and hypocrisy.

beautifulstranger101 · 12/01/2020 10:17

Its not fantasy- its based on the assets (property and companies) she owned and the income she had at the height of her fame from various TV projects. At one point she owned a Bugatti Veyron- that car alone costs 1 million. If you can afford to spend 1 million on a car then you must have considerably more millions in the bank

mindproject · 12/01/2020 10:19

She seems a bit dim and brainwashed to me. I wouldn't want to be her.

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 10:32

I believe that KP has made £45 mill in over 20 years of being in showbiz, deffo, she had books, tv shows, the modelling etc etc.

Doubleraspberry · 12/01/2020 10:39

Making £43m (if she did) is different to having £43m. That’s before tax, professional expenses including agents fees, ghost writers, PR (including of course Carby Claire), payroll etc. And it’s over 20 years, which would be about £2m a year on average before those costs. I don’t believe at any point she was ‘worth’ £43m.

There’s a lot of smoke and mirrors in what slebs own, wear, drive etc.

beautifulstranger101 · 12/01/2020 10:43

Ok, lets say she never had 43 million or whatever the amount is. The point still stands. At one point, she WAS earning millions and she frittered it away. If she had been the "shrewd business woman" everyone likes to claim she was she could have doubled that money by now if she had invested it wisely. The point is- she had it and she blew it. Not sure why its so controversial to say that - its true.

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 10:45

Did anyone see KPs ‘mucky mansion’ in her show on Quest Red?! Ffs it was a shithole and not just dirty, totally unfinishedConfused

Doubleraspberry · 12/01/2020 10:48

Oh, I totally agree that KP mismanaged her (very decent amount of )money and blew it. She should have been set for life.

Sundancer77 · 12/01/2020 10:48

I just can’t see how someone can ‘Act’ that much though? With other presenters, you can kind of tell if it’s an off day or whatever..just seems more honest?

PositiveVibez · 12/01/2020 10:50

I think she's really irritating and have to turn off whenever she pops up.

Lucky for her she got together with an ITV producer which has given her a leg up.

And I think it's hilarious she brought out a book about having a baby.

Thank god for celebs like her and her sage advice. I really don't know how centuries of women have coped with tips from women like Holly and Myleene Klass.

Irritant. Plus she has a daft face.

Nice clothes -tick
Rich - tick
Shagged the right person - tick
Irritant - tick

Urkiddingright · 12/01/2020 10:51

My friend works on Celeb Juice and can’t stand her, says she is the rudest of the lot.

beautifulstranger101 · 12/01/2020 10:55

I read Mylene Klass' pregnancy book. It was awful and so patronising.
At one point she was moaning about morning sickness saying how awful it was she was on a modelling shoot for M&S on a caribbean island and she felt so ill she couldn't go out for drinks with the other supermodels. plays tiny violin
She also said she got sent the entire M&S maternity range as a free gift.
But sure- she's just like "the rest of us!" eye roll

zoobincan · 12/01/2020 10:56

I just can’t see how someone can ‘Act’ that much though?

It's her job. And despite what many say she is clearly very good at it. It's all an act. All of it.

I often watch live presenters and wonder what's happens to them before they went to work. Like imagine having to be happy and normal etc when your world ie caving in because something really shit happened. Imagine if Phil and his wife had the biggest row and were in the brink of divorce then he has to do his show and make like all is just great Grin I used to think this about Trisha Goddard and Robert Kilroy Silk back in the day too (Yeo weird)

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 10:56

Celebrities getting free stuff annoys the fuck out of me, they can more than afford it and these clothes should go to the needy.

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2020 11:01

Lorraine Kelly fought hmrc in court because telly Lorraine Kelly is a perfomance so LK is an actor Hmm soooo they can act on tv

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2020 11:03

Tbf @zoobincan Robert Kilroy silk was a miserable git!

zoobincan · 12/01/2020 11:04

Haha yes indeed!

Sundancer77 · 12/01/2020 11:05

It’s true, but for example, if it’s Ruth and Eamon (I’m on extended maternity leave, catching up on years of never seeing these shows 😂) have had a row or the vibes off a bit, you can see it, and it’s ok..H is constantly ‘On’ and if she isn’t a very nice person as some people have said (obviously she may be, we have no idea) then it’s bloody amazing acting 👏
