Just that really. OK so I know I will get told to focus on my own life and that I'm jealous etc I do actually like watching Holly on TV but I can't help hut think she constantly lands on her feet, I know no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors but she is genuinely happy, I don't think you could fake that everyday! She's super rich, seems to have a nice husband and family life, no money struggles wondering how she is going to pay a bill, always getting new job roles, I don't understand how every area in her life can be so perfect. Over the years I have watched this morning whilst going through phases of being so poor and now a marriage breakup, so I understand you will think its my own issues why I feel like this but I'm just wondering how people go through life getting good things thrown at them and some have shit. Yes she works hard hut don't we all she just got lucky yo be working on TV which not everyone has the chance to do to warn millions

I like her, she seems bubbly and happy and whatever. But TBH, she doesn't seem particularly interesting. "Nice" is a good way to describe her, but there doesnt seem very much beneath the surface. Thats just my opinion, I'm not bashing her, but there are lots of other people I find far more charismatic and interesting than HW.

As for her life, Ive honestly never given it much thought. Who the heck knows if she's happy at home or not? her and her H could be miserable for all we know- I'm not saying that to make OP feel better but its a fact isn't it? None of us know what goes on behind closed doors. I think its very very foolish to look at her TV persona and assume she "has it all". Firstly, she HAS to be bubbly on tv- noone wants to tune into This Morning and be faced with her looking like a bulldog chewing a wasp whilst droning on and on about the massive row she just had with her husband and how she thinks she might have got thrush, or the kids smeared Nutella all over her brand new expensive rug do they?

All we see is her interviewing celebs and giggling away- thats whats she's PAID to do. You can assume absolutely nothing from that fact alone. Dont get me wrong- I''m not wishing bad things on her or anything but all I'm saying is- you cannot compare your life to the short polished tv clips you see in the media. You know nothing about how she feels when the camera stops rolling. You know nothing about what fate has in store for her in the future (how its highly likely that as soon as she hits mid 40s, they'll draft in another younger, pretty blonde to take her place), as I say, not wishing anything bad for her, but shit happens to all of us in time.

EmeraldShamrock · 11/01/2020 12:32

@DecisioNN 👍 Totally. The majority of work experience for teens around here a WC areas is a week at the local salon or supermarket.
I wish those who could offer a better chance of work experience in a professional job would step in.
Show these DC the opportunities they'd have if they work hard. It is so far from their grip they've a much smaller chance of success.
But nobody has time.
When I see anyone who looks really happy in real life or even a celeb I feel really pleased
Me too.

Inappropriatefemale · 11/01/2020 12:33

Yeah I agree that she doesn’t seem an interesting person at all, Fearne Cotton seems a bit more edgy and so I was surprised that she and Holly are BFFsConfused

vincentsleftear · 11/01/2020 12:37

I don't think you can know enough about her to judge. I remember reading a Hello feature on Jill Dando and thinking similar - a few weeks later she was shot dead. Life can turn in an instant.

thepeopleversuswork · 11/01/2020 12:38

Sorry OP you asked not to be told this....

But if you compare yourself to wealthy famous people you're going to make yourself miserable.

Have you never heard that expression "comparison is the thief of joy"?

I find it slightly disturbing that anyone would be that preoccupied about a woman off the telly tbh.

a) you have absolutely no idea what her life off camera is like
b) you will drive yourself mad comparing yourself to anyone, let alone someone like this.

In the kindest possible way, I really think you need more stuff to focus on in your life.

dottiedodah · 11/01/2020 12:48

HW is a good lightweight presenter .But like everyone she will have issues, as my good friend always says .It must be stressful with DC and having to always look Tip Top every Monday morning! Sometimes what you see on TV is a well groomed image really.

DollyDaydreamss · 11/01/2020 12:59

@zoobican always wakes up on the wrong side of the bed

Twatty comments on every thread I see him/her on

Stayingstrong24 · 11/01/2020 13:05

You could pick out 100 people and assume they have it all, but I can bet you 100% that at least 90% of those people who seem to have "the perfect life" have their own set of problems behind closed doors.

zoobincan · 11/01/2020 13:30

always wakes up on the wrong side of the bed

I can assure you I do not. I just tell things simply as I see them without any fluff. A lot of people don't like different opinions, I think they are great.

Twatty comments on every thread I see him/her on

Because it's 'twatty' to point out that HW does more than miss the morning school run Confused

Scarylady · 11/01/2020 13:30

@DollyDaydreamss it’s worrying because I wasn’t shooting down her opinion, I was asking her to explain. She obviously knows something I don’t and it’s a very patronising to just imply people are stupid for not knowing what you know. Normal people help others to learn and if that’s how she treats those around her then I really feel for them!

Scarylady · 11/01/2020 13:31

@zoobincan you’ve still not explained what you think/ knows she does with her day! You are simply interested in arguing aren’t you

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2020 13:31

I don’t think I’ve ever watched her but it’s crazy to hold someone on the tv as a standard of anything. She’s just doing her job, a persona, it’s not worth comparing your life to.

zoobincan · 11/01/2020 13:32

Oh and for the record, I am NOT a man.

I'm sure MNHQ could trawl though my history to verify that if you think it's necessary.

zoobincan · 11/01/2020 13:35

you’ve still not explained what you think/ knows she does with her day! You are simply interested in arguing aren’t you

Not remotely interested in arguing. That's why I didn't google every show she does/has done alongside TM since having kids. That would only be to argue and prove a point. I'm really not interested in that. If people want to know they can check it out themselves. I simply pointed out HW downer just turn up early in the morning and pop home in time for the school run 4 days a week as previously suggested. She does shitloads more work than that.

zoobincan · 11/01/2020 13:36

She obviously knows something I don’t and it’s a very patronising to just imply people are stupid for not knowing what you know.

I'm very sorry if that what you took from me not being arsed to google it for you.

It wasn't intended. I certainly didn't mean t o be patronising. Apologies.

Chickerboom · 11/01/2020 13:43

As a previous full-time nanny to a few celebrities & extremely wealthy white-collar business entrepreneurs I can categorically say you never know externally what is going on behind closed doors.

Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not going on.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 11/01/2020 13:47

I think HW is ok..I have no issues with her but swap places? No !! Not for all the tea in China. She is at the top of her game now but how much has she had to sacrifice to get there? Probably lots. How many parents evenings, nativety plays, sports days has she had to miss,,How hard must it be to be lively and jolly and not being able to stay at home to look after your kids who have been poorly or just missing mum and having to run out the door to entertain everyone else? Money cannot ever buy that time back of not being able to be there if your kids need or want you when just mum will do....I think many sacrifices have been made by her and I hope its all worth it I do but there will have been a personal cost to her and her family over the years....

Landing232 · 11/01/2020 13:58

sally you are right she would have missed alot of those school moments which I would have hate to have missed, I still don't get how she could smile through that because I don't think I'd be able to be cheery knowing my child has got toncilitis or at their nativity without me but I think she is defo one of those ms that puts herself first too and understands the importance of looking after herself and those mums tend to be happier I think and don't carry as much guilt

Inappropriatefemale · 11/01/2020 13:59

TV presenters aren’t really allowed sick days are they so would HW have a choice to take a day off if one of her kids were sick?

Mrsjayy · 11/01/2020 14:02

She can put in for days off like other working parents do Confused

Reallybadidea · 11/01/2020 14:07

This is why Jeremy Kyle was such a good show - however shit things were in your own life, you could see that there was someone who was having it even worse

Mrsjayy · 11/01/2020 14:07

Of course she can have sick days she works on this morning they have stand ins

EmeraldShamrock · 11/01/2020 14:09

She lights up when talking about her DC.
It can't be easy to juggle it all even with paid help. Mothers guilt. ♥️

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 11/01/2020 14:12

Robin Williams seemed to have it all too. You just don't know OP

This, unless you're the person in question, how would you know unless you were them?!
You have no way of knowing.
Concentrate on what's making you fixate on strangers and eating you up instead only then will you maybe find a bit of happiness yourself.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 11/01/2020 14:15

She has to smile cos she is paid to...I also think as with many people being the main breadwinner is so much pressure so she has to do that and secure the household finances before she is replaced by new talent too....its a burden she has to juggle ..something has to give in her life in order for her to do it.I don;t think its all as rosy as is painted for her. Fame is a fickle thing and while its good it must be great but it can turn on its head in no time I wouldnt want it
