Just that really. OK so I know I will get told to focus on my own life and that I'm jealous etc I do actually like watching Holly on TV but I can't help hut think she constantly lands on her feet, I know no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors but she is genuinely happy, I don't think you could fake that everyday! She's super rich, seems to have a nice husband and family life, no money struggles wondering how she is going to pay a bill, always getting new job roles, I don't understand how every area in her life can be so perfect. Over the years I have watched this morning whilst going through phases of being so poor and now a marriage breakup, so I understand you will think its my own issues why I feel like this but I'm just wondering how people go through life getting good things thrown at them and some have shit. Yes she works hard hut don't we all she just got lucky yo be working on TV which not everyone has the chance to do to warn millions

Fairenuff Robin Williams was divorced twice and married to his third wife at the time of his death. During the 1970s he was addicted to cocaine, and he was a recovering alcoholic. His death was a tragic loss but I don’t think he’s comparable to what this OP is saying about Holly W.

I wouldn't think into it too much. I know someone who works in the TV industry and said behind cameras she is a demanding diva and always gets her way. Also been told she wouldn't have got where she is now if it wasn't for her husband who also apparently work in the industry.

That is just someone's opinion, but don't look into it too much. X

I love Holly but this won't go down well in AIBU. You've no idea about her life or journey. Comparison is the theif of joy.

Hardly anyone who got into TV work got there by luck. It may seem to the viewer that they appear from nowhere, but in the preceding years they have been plugging away and doing the groundwork, auditioning for everything left right and centre, getting their faces known in the industry. As a child they probably went to numerous acting, singing, dancing, stage school, doing local productions and competitions, etc. etc. Not that much luck involved- more persistence and hard work.

What did you do OP?

Kate Bush is hugely talented though. While I don’t begrudge HW or any other successful person I can see people do begrudge those with little or no discernible talent who just seemed to have lucked into success.

There are always going to be people doing better than you, but on the flip there are always people struggling more. Obsessing over one celebs seemingly perfect life is utterly pointless.

Don't compare other people's exteriors to your own interior self. Best advice ever.

I don't think she is just lucky.
I think she believes in herself, her parents done a good job.
So much of our life is based on the starting foundation.

I’m sure she does work hard. She must have to get up so early. She probably misses loads with her kids and I’m sure there are days when she really can’t face standing in front of the camera and being all happy.

She is very successful though, so good on her. I hope you find your own success in life too, OP.

OP, comparison is the thief of joy.

If all you do is search out lovely, sparkly, shiny people to compare yourself to, then of course it will make you feel despondent. It also makes a person lose from their true self if the tendency is to try and find something "bad" in the perfect person's life as a source of comfort that it isn't that perfect.

Quite frankly I don't need to declare some false happiness for HWs amazing circumstances because we don't know each other and I can't imagine her needing to care what people like me or you think. She's too busy getting on with her life!

Nothing wrong with using it as a motivator to change things in your own life that you're not happy about, though.

Time is the great equaliser. I used to feel this about friends when I was younger. I had a horrific childhood, problems as a teen etc my friends had it all. No bereavements, no money issues, easy relationships etc. Well guess what- now they envy me. All their relationships broke up, one has had to move back in with his mum, lost jobs etc I’m not saying this because I’m happy it turned out this way rather just that no one escapes the shit life inevitably will fling at them. Everyone gets their share of crap. It might not be now, or in a month, or this year. But it will happen, sadly.

She’s done really well. Obviously no-one knows if she is happy or any other struggles but she’s cornered her market and kept her position which can’t be easy. There’s not many presenters that have had the longevity she’s had.

She clearly works hard, is talented etc.

I don't particularly like her presenting style, but millions do, so she must be doing something right. However her life isn't perfect - noone 's is. She's just another human being.

No point focussing on her. Focus on yourself. Is there one thing you could do to improve your life? Decorate a room? Start exercising? Look for a new job? Once you complete one step, you can take the next. Month by month things will improve.

As the saying goes "be yourself, everyone else is taken".

She’s lovely looking and although she seems a bit dim sometimes she’s is warm and kind. Her squeaky voice is probably a side effect of her smoking and it puts me off her completely. Every squeak reminds me that she probably reeks of stale smoke. I’m assuming Philip is a smoker too?

There is no point in comparing yourself with others & no one knows what's going on behind the scenes.

HWs clearly successful but personally I don't get the appeal eg don't watch her TV shows or like her style.

Nobody has it all OP. If you have decent health you're already ahead of the game.

I openly admit I am jealous of her figure and wardrobe plus she gets all the holidays off. Seems like she has the perfect job maybe.

She does seem to have it all and is certainly lucky with work. Let's face it, she has no real talent, but her looks get her work.

In tv though work soon dries up for women as they get older so this could well happen to Holly.

I have also read that her marriage is not as happy as she makes out although, obviously, have no idea whether that is true or not
