Unhinged people like to demonstrate in a very OTT way when they find people who feed their wackoness. The cringeworthy acting, the fake elation, Meghan over-animatedly talking to the back of people's heads after they turn away from her, the whole embassy thing, the people lining up, the OTT adulation.. good grief, it'll be Justin Trudeau next laying out the red carpet and offering them "refuge" from the nasty British next.

yoghurty - that would be fine and understandable if they were actually leaving BUT they want to keep their titles, their royal privilege, the £2.3m a year they get from the Duchy of Corwall, their taxpayer funded house and their taxpayer funded security which includes VIP travel arrangements. And the reason they need to keep all of this is because all of their future income will come from trading off their "royalsussex" connections. Taking billionaires for shooting parties etc, you know the score.

They could just renounce their titles, walk away and live quietly and "frugally" off their £30m and everyone would be sympathetic.

She could have simply used the opportunity to discuss their tour of Africa more. “I feel incredibly Lucky, having spent all this time in poverty” Blah blah blah. Totally agree @crispysausagerolls - it was unbelievably poor taste. Like you say, there’s a time and a place and that was most certainly not it.

Ffs Harry has been forgiven a lot of outrageous behaviour due to the public death of his mother. Eg the Nazi outfits and the Vegas naked photos. It doesn’t mean he is able to take the piss out of the Queen and Country.

I’m not trying to be a dick, but I see this happen a surprising amount in my social circle. There are people who grow up with wealth who behave appropriately, and then there are those who marry into wealth and become outrageously narcissistic and out of touch with reality. They grow this huge sense of self importance and behave like absolute wankers. Somehow they usually manage to turn the original wealthy nice person into a bellend.

I kid you not - a friend of mine who takes helicopters when the trains are bad used to be the nicest person ever. Dating a total money grabbing social climber and now comes out with phrases like “I do XYZ to keep me grounded” and other phrases he has picked up whilst spending time in LA with her. I’m sure I am biased due to seeing this happen around me; but it seems like more of the same just on a larger scale with an actual impact.

She was wealthy before she married Harry and she made the money herself.

She didn’t grow up actually wealthy though, did she? I’m sure this will have something to do with why she has been accused of abandoning almost all her friends and family. Of using people.

I also don’t think the money she amassed is anything like being a part of the Royal Family in terms of wealth and position.

Even just wearing a 56k dress for her engagement shoot - it reeks of new money and a complete lack of understanding about how to get people to warm to you, how to ingratiate yourself.

Are there any Canadian courtesy titles? Tbh I feel sorry for the charities and organisations in UK of which they are patrons. They seem to be pretty low on the priority list. What engagements do/did they have lined up for the next month or so? How many did Meghan do after her ml? She could quite legitimately, and without negative comment, have taken the rest of last year off but seemed keen to return to a public role and tour. Hard to believe someone who has only been on the scene for 3/4 years can make such waves.

If I were the Queen I would withdraw the Sussex Dukedom and Harry would remain as HRH Prince Harry with Meghan as Mrs. Mountbatten Windsor. The RF will protect Harry's position as clearly it's not possible to predict the future for this couple.

She went to a private school so presumably didn't grow up in poverty. Regardless it can't be argued that she married into money as she was wealthy already and it can't be argued that she has no idea how "normal" people live.

She isn't "moaning about her privilege". She is moaning about the way she is treated by the press. Whether a not she is privileged is completely irrelevant to whether she should put up with full stories in the media.

When it comes to falling out with or growing away from in-laws I have seen it a fair bit and think ultimate responsibility has to be with the family member not the spouse.

I think this thread really demonstrates why they want to step down from the Royal family. So many posters spouting opinions on her personality when they don't know anything about her apart from what they read in the press and one comment that she made on a television programme which wasn't unreasonable in itself. I don't know whether she is or isn't sport or arrogant as I don't actually know her but neither do any other posters on here. All I know is that she certainly has been vilified in the press and almost certainly many of the stories are false. She doesn't want to deal with any more and just because they are well off I don't see why they should. I wouldn't put up with a job however well-paid if I hated it and clearly they don't want to either.

I doubt any titles will be removed. The RF will be so mindful of history repeating itself that they will want to be seen to be supporting them 100%.

Harry we will be some Canadian special royal ambassador and they will be seen at premieres and shining lights on their favourite charities. The only interviews ever to be conducted will be by their chosen trail blazing team. I hope they are happy, I don't think it will ever be enough for them though.

Agree @GetOffYourHighHorse , it will never be enough or make them happy. Both have dysfunctional families and it seems like an endless quest for satisfaction and appreciation.
