There seems to be a change in tone on threads, the tedious 'racist!' accusations seem to be reducing as more and more people realise Harry and Meghan are using and exploiting their royal platform for their own very specific and woke agenda. What were they thinking launching that website without even running it by his brother or Dad, let alone the Queen.

For once I agree with Piers Morgan about these two. The pair of them are hypocrites. Can’t have it both ways. Can’t be financially independent when they expect the public to pay for their security etc and whilst they are still living off Daddy’s money.

I cant work out how a couple with an estimated £34 million wealth have to WORK AT becoming financially independent. They could give up all current income, never work another day and still live a life of wealth and luxury.

I am a royalist and I think this stinks.

The role of the Royal is duty. It is a job and a tough one. No one picks it, you’re born to it.

So letting people opt out is fair enough.

But what you absolutely cannot do is cheapen and exploit what your entire family has worked towards for the past three generations by cashing in on your status.

I dont blame them for wanting to leave at all. The UK Press have not treated her well and he's had the example of what happened to his mum to frame his low opinion of them.
However i do think that if they "abdicate" from their roles that they ought to pay for their own security and not receive monies from Her Maj.They've also said they wont use the Royal Pool for releasing stuff to the press which i think will unfortunately make the press even more rabid about chasing them for photos etc.

It was precisely after Diana left the royal family that the press continued to pursue her. Although Diana was no innocent victim and courted the press when it suited her.

I suspect that the reason for going to Canada is to avoid the press, because if they remain in the UK there’s no way the press will leave them alone. But once they’ve disappeared out of the spotlight for a couple of months they can come back to the UK and people will have stoped caring.

I certainly wouldn’t want to live that life and I have no idea why anyone would want to marry into it. But Harry knew what to expect. He’d seen it first hand with Diana, He saw it with William and Kate, and while he didn’t ask for any of it he can’t claim to be surprised now that it’s happened.

I also suspect that the royals are unhappy because while the press have been able to comment on Harry and Megan they’ve largely not been concentrating on Andrew. Now that Harry and Megan are out of the picture I suspect Andrew might become fair game.
