AIBU to ask you how much coffee or tea you drink per day?

Also, if you feel you need it in the morning to properly wake up?

I drink x3 cups of coffee a day. Sometimes have a tea although not everyday.

@Katinthedoghouse

Was the doc alarmed by quantity of liquid ie could have been water OR fact it was caffeine? Which was worsening prolapse problem?

I have a decaf coffee in the morning and then a couple of decaf teas throughout the day.
I was told to stop drinking the 4/5 cups of normal coffee I had a day after I developed a very fast heart rate from a broken rib, and i've never started it again after over a year and although it was awful to begin with I don't miss it now.

1forAll74 · 08/01/2020 17:12

About 5 cups of tea a day, all without milk, and only Earl Grey. and no coffee at all.

TheReef · 08/01/2020 17:25

6/7 cups of tea during the day.
I do like a good cuppa first thing, but I'm
Up and dressed before I have my first

Kenworthington · 08/01/2020 17:28

4 coffees usually and they go like this-

Caffeine / at home
Decaf / at home
Decaf /at my mums
Caffeine/ out with mum

Can’t handle more caffeine than that or it makes me feel really ill

Livpool · 08/01/2020 19:07

I don't like coffee so I don't drink that at all. And about 1 cup of tea - which horrifies my DH as he has about 8!

Maverick66 · 08/01/2020 19:48

7-10 mugs of black tea per day. Middling strength.
I drink 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch.
1 mid afternoon and 2 to 3 between teatime and bedtime.Blush

xsarax · 08/01/2020 20:55

I rarely drink coffee as I love tea , so about 5-10 mugs of tea whilst I’m at work then I’ll have herbal or fruit tea in the evening
I also drink water in between , I drink a lot as I have a stupid irrational fear of dehydration or being thirsty Grin

PositiveVibez · 08/01/2020 21:00

1 fresh coffee most mornings before work
1 coffee in the morning in work and 1 in the afternoon.

Don't really drink tea through the week. Just at the weekend when I can make a proper pot and let it stew for ages.

Gillian1980 · 08/01/2020 21:02

About 6 coffees a day.

DH must drink at least 12+ cups of tea I reckon.

One small, strong cup of proper coffee in the morning. I don't "need" it but really look forward to it. I also have between 2 and 4 cups of tea/green tea.

gingerbiscuits · 08/01/2020 22:47

I'm a teacher - I need tons of coffee every day - can't even contemplate life without it! 😂

AmazingGreats · 08/01/2020 23:06

I used to drink back to back coffee all day, but I've cut right down and have a maximum of 2, more often 1 but not every day and no longer need it in the mornings. I do have a cup of tea about once a week and the occasional green tea if the mood takes me. I usually have a sneaky energy drink once or twice a week though Blush can't seem to get past the Wednesday hump without a red bull.

Poetryinaction · 08/01/2020 23:08

About 4 caffeinated tea and 2 redbush.

guffaux · 08/01/2020 23:22

I have about one mug of coffee per hour, up to 7pm, then half a bottle of red over the course of the evening, and a mug of de-caff coffee about midnight

Sometimes I have two mugs, one straight after the other.

My work mug holds around 400mls, my favourite mug at home holds a pint,

I intersperse the coffee with the odd glass of water and occasional mug of tea.

PlaymobilPirate · 08/01/2020 23:27

I drink coffee with milk and sugar and, because I'm.calorie counting I have 3
I'd like 5!!

CrunchyCarrot · 09/01/2020 00:09

No coffee, no green tea, no black tea. All give me histamine reactions so now I drink herbal tea - mainly chamomile but also lemon/ginger, lemongrass. My coffee 'substitute' is roasted chicory.

ThanksForAllTheFish · 09/01/2020 00:20

Most week days I have 1 or 2 cups of coffee. First cup always between school drop off and starting work time - so around 9:30. Occasionally I will have 3 or even 4 cups in a day but not very often. Sometimes I have none at all on the weekend, maybe 1 cup around lunchtime if I’m still at home and can be bothered to grind the beans, set up the machine, froth milk etc.

I have tea once in a blue moon. Generally green tea or chai tea with no milk but that’s more of a relaxing drink than a need caffeine to stay awake drink.

When DD was small and still in the baby/toddler stage I had about 5 cups a day to keep me going but now she’s older I don’t need as much as I get plenty of sleep these days.

LouisaJenny · 09/01/2020 07:59

I have 3 black coffees, no sugar, before 11am.

I then have water for the rest of the day, then finish up with a green tea with peppermint before bed.

DarlingNikita · 09/01/2020 11:29

Only takes about 4/5 hours for coffee to wear off, so this is overkill!

A lot of advice is to stop having caffeine at lunchtime, or even earlier (midday). Personally I find if I have coffee after lunchtime I take longer to get to sleep.

frankincenseandmur · 09/01/2020 11:30

2 coffees and several cups of tea

neverornow · 09/01/2020 11:38

3 coffees per day usually consumed 7am and 11am ish

Damntheman · 09/01/2020 12:34

Coffee is a very rare thing for me. Only on the days I've had 3 or less hours sleep or I can't function. Tea however... between 5 and 10 cups in a day. I do love me a cup of tea!

paranoidmum2 · 09/01/2020 12:51

I like a cup of tea every day if I remember it. It's not a habit for me in that f I don't have a tea all day I don't feel I've missed it. But when I do have it, I love it.
