Because if you are in Oxfordshire, the council thinks schools should facilitate mixed sex dorm rooms for residential trips, as well as allowing mixed sex loos, changing rooms and sports.

It's on this thread thread

And can anyone explain why one of my previous posts was deleted?

I don't remember seeing your post, so I don't know why it was deleted. You probably stated some facts that some people would prefer were not discussed.

You can report your deleted post to MNHQ and ask why it was deleted.

TheMustressMhor · 05/01/2020 14:35

TotallyFuckedUp

I mentioned AGP in the post - probably I worded it in a way which contravened the MN rules.

Anyway.

I am infinitely grateful to the restraint shown yesterday and this morning to one poster, who seems to have been banned now, and who has truly opened my eyes to the levels of abuse women can face when sticking up for women's rights.

Cushycat · 05/01/2020 14:37

He was such a love wasn't he? He has done sterling work here.

SophoclesTheFox · 05/01/2020 14:38

We’re not allowed to talk about that, themustress - you’re pretty much guaranteed a flurry of reports and an instant deletion there Grin

Enquiring minds may wish to ponder why...why must women not mention that?

BoneyBackJefferson · 05/01/2020 14:41

GColdtimer
Schools will generally ask for sex on the application fo so unless a parent is prepared to lie then the school will know the sex of the child.

That doesn't mean that teachers will know the sex of the child.

TheMustressMhor · 05/01/2020 14:42

Well bugger me.

Where can women discuss such things then?

PityParty4one · 05/01/2020 14:49

Isn't there a sex topic?

AGP is a sexual fetish so maybe it's ok to discuss it there?
I agree I do think it's a subject worth discussing. Especially after reading the trsnswidows threads and reading just how AGP has impacted on women's and children's lives.

youkiddingme · 05/01/2020 14:52

Golly that was an instructive read. I do hope that anyone who pops in does read the whole thread.

OldCrone · 05/01/2020 14:58

Where can women discuss such things then?

I think we are allowed to discuss it. But we must keep making it clear that it doesn't apply to all transgender people. In a discussion with MNHQ about one of my deleted posts when I said that I thought my post had been misconstrued, they said that if it is possible to misunderstand it, then someone will, and then they have to delete.

I had said something about paedophiles infiltrating the trans movement to gain access to children, and someone had interpreted that to mean that I was saying that all transgender people were paedophiles (I wasn't, and you'd have had to have been quite creative with your interpretation to think that).

I had a post deleted which was warning about the danger of paedophiles infiltrating a popular movement. On mumsnet. What sort of person would find that offensive?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/01/2020 15:30

I don't think that all the people who were members of the PIE died or lost interest in children in 1984 when that organisation was disbanded, nor do I think that all were identified. If they were thirty when that happened, they are sixty-five now and some will have become local councillors, MPs, senior doctors.... the NCCL, now Liberty, supported PIE for a while, as did the Young Liberals. Not all will have changed their minds about that. (On the other hand, the National Front strongly opposed them you can end up with strange bedfellows in politics.) PIE received grants amounting to £70,000 from the Home Office in the 1970s and eighties, too.

And I know of at least one case where a fervent advocate of trans superior rights is a friend and colleague of long standing with someone who is very much involved in the TRAs fight against women.

Someone's history may be as relevant now in terms of their probable behaviour as it was when it was becoming their history, chances are.

Datun · 05/01/2020 17:31

Do these kinds of derailing attempts happen on all threads on this subject? I'm assuming "yes."

You assume correctly.

Any mention of autogynephilia (AGP). Any in-depth discussion about surgeries carried out, particularly on teenagers and the consequences. However factual. Any possibility of paedophiles exploiting or being involved in the erosion of boundaries. Evident safeguarding issues.

These ^^ posts get targeted ferociously.

If you actually engage in a discussion with someone and they start to betray themselves, they will often derail, to the point of thread incomprehension in order to get the thing deleted.

The number of times someone has deliberately written inflammatory posts, has them deleted, and then HQ message to say well this looks like Swiss cheese, so we think it's best to remove the entire thread.

Sexnotgender · 05/01/2020 18:04

Fucking hell, “Gail” was a delight wasn’t he😱

rodgmum · 05/01/2020 18:52

Sorry, OP, I know I keep hammering on about Scotland (but the guidance is pretty much identical!), but I’ve just found out that the Children’s Commissioner Scotland endorses the awful school guidance we have. I wonder if he understands the safeguarding implications?

littlbrowndog · 05/01/2020 21:21

How come Gail got loads of deletions on this thread and wasnt sent the go,well my friend you are permanently banned that I got

I thought it was get 3 deletions in a rolling 6 week period and you were permanently banned.

Was gail special ?

On this thread I have seen Gail get a lot of deletions yet can still carry on posting ?

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 05/01/2020 21:32

I think the posts were deleted very late in the discussion. Most posters didn’t want his stuff deleted as it speaks volumes of the mindset of many of the TRAs. It was a shame.

Datun · 05/01/2020 21:35

I think Gail has indeed gone well, littldog. Perhaps the deletions came thick and fast at the end, after they had, um, well gone

littlbrowndog · 05/01/2020 21:38

No,datun they were deleted yesterday as far as I saw yet Gail was still allowed to post this morning

littlbrowndog · 05/01/2020 21:39

@mumsnet can you confirm this ?

Datun · 05/01/2020 22:48

Ah ok littldog.

Well I'm not sure if you'll get a response by atting them. Report your post instead.

GColdtimer · 05/01/2020 22:49

In all seriousness I'd get in touch with Posie Parker. She would know what to do!

GColdtimer · 05/01/2020 23:02

Posie is aware of the court action latte. She has shared information and the crowdfunder but by all means contact her about it yourself.
