To consider this wedding dress

...for a relaxed country wedding? I somehow fell in love with this dress. It is completely different to what I initially wanted. We are older, already have kids, so I wanted our wedding to be a small family affair and was planning on a very plain and understated dress (which is very me, I like to blend in the background). But I just love this one and can't stop thinking about it. I have tried it on and it looked amazing. Would it clash with our setting do you think? (A rustic farm in the middle of nowhere)

I am not clicking on those links!

Rottnest · 02/01/2020 03:21

I'ts beautiful, go with it

eaglejulesk · 02/01/2020 04:01

Another vote for the first one! It just looks softer and dreamier, and will be perfect for a country wedding.

Best wishes for a lovely day Flowers

Downunderduchess · 02/01/2020 04:50

Can you afford both? Lots of brides are doing that these days, changing into another dress for the party later that night.

The dress is beautiful by the way.

Downunderduchess · 02/01/2020 04:54

Sorry posted before I saw the second one. I can’t choose they are both lovely. But as they are quite similar you will definitely only need one, so forget my two dress suggestion.

lborgia · 02/01/2020 05:25

Obviously you need to buy the first one.

Either because it's so important to you that you're day dreaming about it, or because approx 559 out of 570 mnetters prefer it Grin

it's possible, but I think the dresses are far too similar for that.

northernknickers · 02/01/2020 08:27

@Triglesoffy 😂 they are fine to click...and actually, the last one is really pretty!!

OP you'll look beautiful in either of your choices, but the first dress is so gorgeous!! I can see why you've fallen in love with it...I'd definitely go with that one if it were me. Congratulations 🥰

MotherOfAllChristmases · 02/01/2020 08:38

First one is much nicer imo.

GreenTulips · 02/01/2020 11:21

There must have been a reason you went and tried others on. I think with family they can be a bit pushy.

The first one looks more relaxed and less tussled up!

pilates · 02/01/2020 11:25

The first one

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 02/01/2020 11:26

The first one by a mile.

Can i ask what its called? My dsis has got engaged and we need to find her a dress Grin

TheReef · 02/01/2020 11:27

The are both lovely, but I do prefer the first one. I'm about as far removed from a pink girl as you can get but ended up buying an antique rose coloured dress and loved it! Go for it

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/01/2020 11:28

I love the one in the picture. You don't want to be getting dressed on your wedding day thinking about another dress.

HuggedTrees · 02/01/2020 12:22

Lovely it’s your day, even if your family hate it go for the dress! It’s your day and your dress not theirs! There feelings about it have no impact on your day. As nice as you are to consider it. Even if they are paying for it they should want you to have the dress you want.

FL59 · 02/01/2020 12:38

Sooo... I mentioned it to my closest family member and they are not keen! They just think the other one suits me a lot better and is a lot more "me". I am hesitating, not because I want to please them but because they know me so well and I trust their opinion implicitely. Maybe I am missing something! I also think my fiance would probably prefer the original one too. Choosing the other dress now feels like a big leap of faith, I am nervous!

It's gorgeous

AryaStarkWolf · 02/01/2020 12:42

I prefer the 1st

altiara · 02/01/2020 12:54

Also prefer the 1st dress...

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/01/2020 12:56

Have faith in yourself. It's your dress no one else's. You don't need someone else to tell you what to wear any other day of the year.

Ponoka7 · 02/01/2020 13:02

You shouldn't have consulted your family.

The first dress is beautiful and something has made you keep looking.

I don't like you being put in a box by your family. As we get older we come out of our comfort zone and your wedding is a time to please yourself.

The colour and style is perfect for a rustic country wedding, more so than your original dress.

FeigningHorror · 02/01/2020 13:03

OP, they’re very similar — just buy the one you prefer! It’s not as if you’re choosing between a knee-length fifties sundress and something incredibly formal with a cathedral train!
