I've never liked NYE. I have a few mental and social issues and I always feel pressure to have to do something.

I would give anything to enjoy socialising but I just don't.

What are you all up too x

Pub. My first night out in MONTHS as I have a 2yo & 7mo old. I’m excited.

Jocasta2018 · 31/12/2019 13:57

I'll be staying in, dozing on the sofa with lights on & gentle music playing in the background so the cat doesn't get too freaked out by fireworks.

PoppyHxx · 31/12/2019 13:58

Me and my partner will just been at home this evening as we have our 14 month old , soo take away and a few drinks 🥰

Tombliwho · 31/12/2019 13:58

24 weeks pregnant with a chest infection so I expect I will be asleep before well before midnight. Oh the glamour

8Track · 31/12/2019 13:59

Think we might be having an impromptu curry at a really local restaurant! If there's a table free.

Then home for some comedy - quite fancy the 2 Sarah Millican shows that are on the various 4 channels avoiding Jools' delusions of being better than the actual musicians and may watch the fireworks at midnight. A few enjoyable drinks.

Then we'll have a nightcap which will turn into 2 or 3 and make wonderful but ridiculous plans for the next 12 months.

VestaTilley · 31/12/2019 14:00

Heading home with baby DS after a few days at my DPs. We'll be staying in with M&S food and fizz, but will go to bed before midnight. DS was born this year, so I feel we've got a lot to be thankful for, and look forward to, but I'm still struggling (probably with PND), so will spend the evening also just digesting how much our lives have changed in recent months.

Happy new year, OP.

notanotherjigsawpiece · 31/12/2019 14:05

Family trip to Pantomime this afternoon, then home for about 8pm. We’ll have some party food and alcohol, maybe watch a film. I’m usually asleep by midnight! I hate NYE, can’t explain but it always a bit depressing. We try to book a few days away in early January to have something to look forward to

Ilovemypyjamas · 31/12/2019 16:58

We have a 3 year old and a 5 month old.

We'll be putting the kids to bed, eating some nice snacks, playing some board games and then going to bed after the bells! Looking forward to it very much!

tillytrotter1 · 31/12/2019 17:00

Not going to our usual get-together so it'll be a couple of episodes of The Crown then bed, I've already asked that no-one calls at midnight.

DamsonDress · 31/12/2019 17:11

Bath. Pyjamas. Fire lit. Finish audiobook. Also cheese.

Might or might not stay up for midnight.

Don't wish you enjoyed socialising, OP! It's ok to not enjoy socialising. Lots and lots of people don't. Like lots and lots. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. I wish I'd realised that when I was younger instead of putting a nonsense pressure on myself.

Do something lovely that you DO want to do and don't feel bad about not doing something you THINK you should be doing.

I really do recommend cheese....

emummy · 31/12/2019 17:35

DH is playing in a ceiling band miles away, DD1 is off to a friend’s party so it’s me , DD2 & DS. We have made cakes & bought drinks. We will be watching BBC Scotland then going to bed after the bells as I am helping at New Years Day parkrun at 9:30.

BarbedBloom · 31/12/2019 17:39

Having a flare up of my immune condition so plan is make dinner, watch a film and relax. Have never been one for going out for NYE anyway though

Catapillarsruletheworld · 31/12/2019 17:42

Nout! I’m working in the morning so I’ll see the new year in and then go to bed.

Not a fan of new years at all. Staying in maybe order a pizza and watch anything to avoid the countdown.

delilahbucket · 31/12/2019 17:59

Currently cooking a biryani with dp while drinking cherry gin and Coke - yum! Bottle of champagne chilling for later and ds is now old enough to stay up until midnight, so we'll watch some films all curled up on the sofa together before toasting in the new year and going to bed.

user764329056 · 31/12/2019 18:00

On sofa with blanket, snacks and remote control and that’s where I’m staying

Horsemad · 31/12/2019 18:02

Bed early for me. Not a fan of NYE.

Needmorecaffine · 31/12/2019 18:02

Not a fan of NYE.

Both DCs are older teenagers so will be out. Setting all my WhatsApp groups to mute , setting do not disturb on my phone ( which will allow DC to still contact me ).

Calm dog as Fireworks start at midnight !

Hearthside · 31/12/2019 18:04

Staying in .We were going out as i have tomorrow as my day off work but my asthma is giving me grief at the moment so on steroids so can't have a drink after working today just don't feel i got energy or inclination to go out .Not huge fan of NYE but typical first NYS day i have off in years i am ill Sad.

Comps83 · 31/12/2019 18:06

I’m in hospital getting induced!

nearlynermal · 31/12/2019 18:06

Alone on the sofa watching True Blood with two beautiful kittens and a G&T, homemade ginger ice cream setting in the freezer and a duck leg roasting on some diced potatoes. It's been a helluva tough year but I'm still standing...

MonnaLIza · 31/12/2019 18:14

We live in the South East but we are spending NYE in the best city... Manchester 😍! Just chilling before going out. Me DH and Kid B in Manx with Kid A staying at home and having a party in our house with his mates (he's 19). Happy New Year!

emummy · 31/12/2019 18:14

Good luck @Comps83!

girlofthenorth · 31/12/2019 18:15

Have been ill so couple of hours round a friends house if can manage then back in PJs and watch Jools with DH probably though I expect he'd rather stay at the party !
