I've never liked NYE. I have a few mental and social issues and I always feel pressure to have to do something.

I would give anything to enjoy socialising but I just don't.

What are you all up too x

We're having 3 or 4 (depending if one is feeling up to it after being ill) close friends round for a little buffet and some drinks, nothing big or loud. DD and DS2 will be staying at my parents just to make sure they sleep! DS1 is going to his girlfriend's house, not a party, just her and her family!

happyonmyown1000 · 31/12/2019 10:30

I hate New Year's Eve, I really don't know why but it makes me feel really sad and miserable. I can't even bare to watch anything new year related on the telly!! I just want to survive it.

Malacath · 31/12/2019 10:36

It wi be myself and DH, tv until 12, probably off to bed after that. We normally have a few drinks but as DH has been ill for most if last week we probably won't bother. We might play some console games together instead of tv Crown Grin. DC are only 3 and 6 and we're not doing anything out of the ordinary during the day.
I'm from a country where there's lots of fireworks during the day and all through the night as well, must say I don't miss that at all!

Greenkit · 31/12/2019 10:37

@BackOnceAgainWithATinselHalo

Working Nightshift

xJodiex · 31/12/2019 10:44

I've never bothered with it, always just stay in, watch the telly. With my ex we'd have a few drinks but just the two of us at home. It's no big deal for me and I'll likely be asleep by 11pm tonight.

fleamadonna · 31/12/2019 10:44

I work in a pub and we’re having a NYE party. I’ll get slightly tipsy behind the bar. Happily I managed to avoid the brutal NYD lunch shift tomorrow. Last year nearly killed me!

jobbymcginty · 31/12/2019 10:49

Going to the annual nye party in the community hall means we can walk hone drunk with no taxi to worry about the kids all have fun too as party games etc

tactum · 31/12/2019 10:52

House party at my friend's in our village. She's done it for 20 years. Always used to take the kids as toddlers, but they have their own teenage plans now.
I love it - 200 yds down the road, 40 people we've known for years, everyone takes a plate of food, lots of drink and dancing.
And then batten down the hatches for a very low key, sober January full of good intentions...

OlaEliza · 31/12/2019 11:07

We'll probably get an Indian takeaway and maybe have a few drinks. We aren't going out.

Lizzieee2727 · 31/12/2019 11:11

I'm in hospital! 37+6 and was induced on Sunday (reduced movements / gestational diabetes / SPD), still no changes apart from 'mild' contractions despite 4 pessaries so my new year will be enjoyed from the hospital bed on the antenatal ward 😢

TeeniefaeTinseltoon · 31/12/2019 11:37

We're going to my friends house with the kids and their grandparents. Few drinks, nibbles and taxi booked to take us home at 1.30. We've another party at a friends house tomorrow night.

PlomBear · 31/12/2019 11:37

7 course tasting menu at a Michelin star restaurant. 😋

Neither of us are drinking so looking forward to a mocktail.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 31/12/2019 11:40

Having a cesarean and welcoming our baby into the world 🥰

tinytemper66 · 31/12/2019 12:02

Been invited to a party but it is Fancy Dress! I shall not be dressing up and I can't be bothered to look for something.

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/12/2019 12:04

Party food and some bubbles at home. Probably be in bed at normal time.

ScribblyGum · 31/12/2019 12:05

Hosting a Victorian themed murder mystery party.
Will be cooking a goose in a bonnet.

Purplecatshopaholic · 31/12/2019 12:09

Not bothered about Hogmanay these days. Kinda been there, done that, lol. It will be pjs, sofa with dog, maybe a wee glass of fizz. Happy with that. Looking forward to a new, exciting chapter in life though!

SinglePringle · 31/12/2019 12:11

I’m staying home, cooking ramen and reading my new book in my pjs. I’ll be in bed by 11pm I reckon. Bliss.

managedmis · 31/12/2019 12:15

Good luck, sex less

7dayslater · 31/12/2019 12:57

I'm working until 10. Will bring home a take-away, have a drink & watch a movie with DP. This will be my quietest NYE but I think it'll be nice just us (+ DS is 18 months, but he will be in bed).

lynsey91 · 31/12/2019 13:49

I don't like NYE much so happy to stay in with DH. Also one of our dogs although not terrified, does not like fireworks much so we wouldn't go out and leave him.

We are having veggie spaghetti bolognaise to eat. I might have a small glass of wine (don't usually drink because of migraine). We will probably be up and awake at midnight as we often don't go to bed until later than that.

FabbyChix · 31/12/2019 13:49

None I have an emergency operation tomorrow on my broken wrist

Crunchymum · 31/12/2019 13:52

DP is working tomorrow and I am ill.

So I doubt we'll make it to midnight / drink any alcohol

Can't wait for it all to be over now to be honest!
