I've never liked NYE. I have a few mental and social issues and I always feel pressure to have to do something.

I would give anything to enjoy socialising but I just don't.

What are you all up too x

Rave

Bouledeneige · 31/12/2019 08:44

Usually something comes up like going to friends for drinks but not this year. I shall stay in and watch TV.

DD is having friends round for drinks, o don't think DS has any plans.

KTD27 · 31/12/2019 08:44

Chinese takeaway and margaritas on the couch. Bliss

SVRT19674 · 31/12/2019 08:46

We all have dinner at our home, we're having roast chicken and tons of home made chips. Then our neighbours will come over to toast for the new year at around 11.30 and then chit chat chit chat until we feel the need to end it. Best plan ever.

Barmaid101 · 31/12/2019 08:47

Work!
Just like Christmas Day Boxing Day and New Year’s Day! I’ve had the crap end of the stick this year!

Straycatstrut · 31/12/2019 08:48

Oh GOD the FB speeches where people talk about their year and how incredible it's been and how even MORE incredible they hope 2020 will be.

Mine will be peaceful. Boys with their dad (ha! sorry, dads parents because he's going out Hmm ) so just me, my little dog, big cups of tea and Netflix, watching "you" back to back.. (the programme not actually "you"....) Grin

Flicking 2019 away like an old bogey. I've cried and sobbed, experienced the darkest of dark places. I could have ended it all. 2020 will be me fighting for changes. New career, new friends (hopefully) new adventures. Fingers crossed.

What @HostessTrolley said.

BestIsWest · 31/12/2019 08:51

We’re off out for a curry then going to the cinema to see Knives Out.
We’ll be home by 11 to watch the Hootenanny in our PJs

PumpkinPie2016 · 31/12/2019 08:55

Not much at all Crown Smile

Never do - I don't particularly like NYE.

Me and DS are off to do the food shop soon (very rock and roll lol). Then might tidy up a bit at home so that we can watch a film tonight.

SimonJT · 31/12/2019 09:00

We’re off to the zoo in a bit, just waiting for someone to really sloooooooowly finish his breakfast.

A friend always has a NYE party so we’ll go to that tonight, it isn’t anything wild.

Arrowfanatic · 31/12/2019 09:03

Toyed with the idea of going to a friends for a party but I'm still fighting the cold that never ends so decided against it.

Will pop out shopping in a bit, then meeting my friend for a drink & pool at the pub after lunch and then home, dinner, prosecco and a movie and given my awful sleep last night i doubt I'll make it to midnight. My street always has a bag pipe prosession at midnight so if i do fall asleep it'll wake me up anyway (no, we're not in scotland.)

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 31/12/2019 09:04

PJs., Bailey's and some movies on Netflix or Prime .

I have done the pubs , the clubs, the house parties etc and quite looking forward to a staying home this year.

DavetheCat2001 · 31/12/2019 09:12

Friends over to us for dinner.. dress code is slobwear.

Get kids to bed, watch film, watch fireworks and then go to bed.

I'm totally partied out this year.. been drinking far too much so going dry for January and maybe February too.

TheNemesisOfLame · 31/12/2019 09:14

Sober and on bin bag and vom patrol as DD is having a NYE party.
Too many people invited and we are nervous...

stuckinthemiddlewithtwats · 31/12/2019 09:14

I hate New Year's Eve. I have absolute twats for neighbours and I know they'll be screaming, shouting, fighting and playing wanky dance music until the early hours.

It's the first time my DP has the night off as he usually has to work it so would have been lovely to have a quiet night in.

Trying to decide whether to stay in as I'm worried they'll do something stupid and burn my house down (they've almost done that once before) and I know they'll be scaring my cat with their noise. Or maybe go out to the cinema which will mean coming home just before midnight so not having to listen to their bullshit for as many hours. There's only little women on late though and I'm not that bothered about seeing it.

TheRattleBag · 31/12/2019 09:16

I'll be working the first of three 12 hour night shifts.

Hopefully I'll be able to see some fireworks from the office window!

GrandTheftWalrus · 31/12/2019 09:17

Working a 14hr shift.

DavetheCat2001 · 31/12/2019 09:17

@TheNemesisOfLame that sounds horrific 😱

SinkGirl · 31/12/2019 09:17

Wait, is it NYE?

Steak and wine, early night. Maybe some Yule log if I really feel like pushing the boat out.

Jessica7689 · 31/12/2019 09:19

We have family friends with a son and daughter the same age as our son and daughter, and every NYE we either go to theirs or they come to ours and we do a murder mystery. We have a lovely dinner together in the middle, and it takes us all the way up to midnight, when we watch the London fireworks on the telly, have some champagne, and then get a taxi home.

bumpysleighridejack · 31/12/2019 09:20

In hospital with my 2 month old, his 3rd hospital stay in his short life. DH and DS 3 have gone home and we're not in a local hospital because he was admitted while we were visiting relatives for Christmas, so not close enough to visit. We weren't going to do anything tonight but had planned a family breakfast out to a special event tomorrow morning, I've told DH to take DS on their own. First time we've been apart at New Years and I'll be seeing in 2020 from my parents camp bed. Hopefully we'll get home soon.

mbosnz · 31/12/2019 09:21

We're off to see the NZ New Year in with Kiwi friends with a pub crawl, and then we've a friend coming around to have a BBQ and see the NY in with (appalling grammar there). Gotta have a BBQ on NYE!

flipperdoda · 31/12/2019 09:22

Baked cheese, a glass of wine (although I've come down with a horrible cold so might skip the wine), crisps and sofa. Probably be in bed earlier than midnight, if I'm awake I'll be reading in bed.

Single this year and loving not having any pressure to "do" NYE!

WooMaWang · 31/12/2019 09:23

We still haven't decided. I'm pregnant so going out among the really drunk seems a crap idea. We might go out to watch the early family fireworks the city council does, get some dinner and come home reasonably early. DP wants to watch jools Holland.

Timmytoo · 31/12/2019 09:25

My DH and I will either be having a BBQ party with friends or family. We are not in UK. Or I will be in labour with our first baby Grin Bear
