To ask what time of day you KNEW you were in labour

Just that, 37+3 with number 2 and have been on/off having false labour for hours on end for a week driving me slightly loopy. I know its not an indication that it's about to start. But 90% of people will tell you labour starts at night (I appreciate its due to a rise in hormones) , my first did. It sure makes for long uncomfortable days! Especially sitting on the carpet all day with Dc1 for Christmas and thinking about the difficulties of getting them out the house in the middle of the night! Cheer me up with some alternative stories please. I have an elcs booked in 11 days but am convinced I won't make it (fingers crossed I'm fed up!)

With my eldest, about 9am, with my middle about 11pm, I was induced with my third so I don't think that counts for this.

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 28/12/2019 07:47

I'd take 9am 😂

Had dc1 at 6pm was only in labour for a few hours.
Dc2 was born at 4pm (emergency cection) had gone into labour a few hours before with him also.
I to thought babies were born at night......seems not!!

GlowWine · 28/12/2019 07:58

DD1 4am DD2 11am

OneTooManyBathtimes · 28/12/2019 08:00

6am after 3 hours of pains that I wasn't sure about, but were 15-12 mins apart. Didn't even occur to me they might be false ones.

An hour after my sweep, so 30 mins of having contractions that I could feel. 7 mins apart, 4cm dilated already. Apparently I'd not been feeling contractions for a fair bit according to my midwife.

Both labours really straightforward, but both completely different. DS was 10.5 hours long, DD was 4 hours 11 mins from first contraction. DS was irregular contractions, DD was regular to a fault.

Ginfordinner · 28/12/2019 08:00

2pm when my waters broke.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 28/12/2019 08:00

With DS I had back ache from about 8pm, woke up at 3am with contactions and was at the MLU by 7am. DS arrived at 9pm that night

MsChatterbox · 28/12/2019 08:02

I had some mild contractions at 3am so got a bit excited that it might be starting. Slept until 6am until I woke up with stronger ones and knew at 6:45 I was definitely in labour.

ManiacalLapwing · 28/12/2019 08:02

I woke at 5am with contractions 5 minutes apart, so not really nighttime. I packed my bag in between contractions, made my way to the hospital, DC born at 1pm.

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 28/12/2019 08:02

Ah so maybe a glimmer of hope out there. I'm due on the 15th and having elcs at 39 weeks but from the day I found out I betted on today (28th) as the day... Absolutely no idea why.... So I guess I will be driving myself insane today 😂

DD@ 10pm just as i got into bed
DS@ 3pm
DS induced

Saltnpepper5 · 28/12/2019 08:07

10am

crosspelican · 28/12/2019 08:08

DD1 - 2am (33 hour labour! Shock I've never been so tired in my life)
DD2 - 4am (4 hour labour - all the better for having had the bones of a night's sleep first)

No risk of confusing BH with actual labour for me. Both times I was woken up with a BOOM.

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 28/12/2019 08:12

Yeah I remember thinking that the pain felt different but I am stupidly still second guessing myself this time! I had pains at 9.15pm watching telly on the Wednesday, DC was born at 5am on the Saturday 😬 by EMCS.

If this one could start after breakfast and be out by tea I would be most grateful 🙏 (delirium has arrived....)

My toddler is INSANELY clingy with me at the moment so I can also kid myself he Knows of course

Tumbleweed101 · 28/12/2019 08:15

1st - around 7/8am
2nd - waters broke about 5pm.
3rd - 8/9am
4th - woke up about 5am in full labour!

Treaclepie19 · 28/12/2019 08:16

Waters broke at 3am but by 5PM the pains were bad so I knew I needed to get moving.
Second time around was a little different because I was induced and had a TFMR. That time i knew at 6am it was coming up to go time.
