Lighthearted

I’ve had a few hard weeks but having cancelled all plans for the next few days, things are looking up. DH, kids and I are having some PJ days with very little effort involved.

So what wondrous feast did you have for breakfast?

I had:

1 parsnip
1 carrot poached on butter
2 roast potatoes dipped in ketchup
5 forkfuls of Black Forest Gateau
Handful of grapes
Diet Coke

Currently watching Groundhog Day and considering a second plate, maybe this time consisting of cheese.

Turkey stuffing mayo and chutney sarnie, a spice of M&S Snow Bomb with extra raspberries and lots of tea.

Biscuits and duck pate on toast. Contemplating some triffle.....

Ginsters pasty while watching endgame.

Chickpea flour pancakes with loads of onion, chilli, spices and coriander in them, cooked by vegan BIL. Delicious!

Two Christmas tree shaped crumpets slathered with butter and topped with cheese!

A pig in blanket and some salmon pate (not together obviously). Then a long walk followed by Christmas dinner round two.

Bacon, sausage, eggs, toast

Turkey and cranberry sandwich, 2 parsnips, a few baby carrots and loads of sticky maple sprouts.

Didn't have it until 12 though

Christmas cake. Might have some more for lunch...nobody else likes it here so it's my Christmas duty to eat it all.

Hotel Chocolat chocolates and whisky

Nothing for me, we all over ate. One dc was sick so he had toast, dh had cereal, dc2 had 1 pop tart and I had a cup of tea.

Bombay mix and 3 hotel chocolat chocolates and a cinnamon latte.

Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon and some chocolate mints and a handful of dry roasted peanuts.

We skipped breakfast and by the time we ate it was lunchtime: Honey roast ham sandwiches with garlic butter and the remaining veg, roasties, stuffing and gravy from yesterday's dinner. The chicken carcass is currently boiling away to make chicken soup.

Tonight will be Stilton and Brie, accompanied by a bottle of port.

Twiglets, pretzels, and a cup of duck soup.

American 🥞 pancakes. Divine.

Corn cakes and marmalade. Just had more corn cakes with full fat cottage cheese for lunch.

My breakfast was similar to yours @Merryoldgoat except I had 4 potatoes and gravy

I had hot chocolate with cream on from the garage while I walked the dog. Then I came home and had some crisps. Then some more crisps and some full-fat coke. Might have some more crisps soon.

For dinner I think I will have roast potatoes and gravy. I might put some cheese on the potatoes, just for a bit of protein.

My lovely DH made me eggy bread with maple syrup and coffee before he left for work. I may have then garnished it with a side order of profiteroles.

No breakfast here but I’ve just put away another roast turkey dinner (minus Yorkshire’s) followed by a mince pie with brandy sauce. And a glass of Rioja 🍷
