Lighthearted

I’ve had a few hard weeks but having cancelled all plans for the next few days, things are looking up. DH, kids and I are having some PJ days with very little effort involved.

So what wondrous feast did you have for breakfast?

I had:

1 parsnip
1 carrot poached on butter
2 roast potatoes dipped in ketchup
5 forkfuls of Black Forest Gateau
Handful of grapes
Diet Coke

Currently watching Groundhog Day and considering a second plate, maybe this time consisting of cheese.

Mini pork and cranberry pie, 2 cocktail sausages, 2 kiev bites, pringles and dip. Oh and some chocolate biscuits !

Vilanelle · 26/12/2019 11:29

3 small slices of tiger bread toasted with tons of butter, orange juice, a cup of tea and a mini mince pie. The kids slept until 9.15 this morning. It was bliss! Especially after the 5.15 wake up yesterday and cooking Christmas dinner for everyone.

schafernaker · 26/12/2019 11:32

An orange... by this I obviously mean chocolate orange

Bacon toasties and enough coffee to drown a small horse, followed by half a bowl of honey peanuts and some haribo

Pancakes with syrup at 9, just turned the oven on to cook some mini sausage rolls, chicken nuggets and onion rings for ds2 whilst me and eldest ds have turkey and stuffing sandwiches with left over pigs in blankets and roast potatoes, will then carry on with the chocs, Weird dh is upstairs watching tv and won’t eat any more Christmas food as isn’t a fan of it, I would ltb but it just means more goodies for me this way

I am being the laziest person! Still had no breakfast as in bed with the dog watching shit TV and wondering what to eat I may also have a wine hangover

GrannyBags · 26/12/2019 11:43

A glass of Prosecco. Have only just got up, had a bath and got dressed. DH is in the kitchen and I’m on the sofa. My best friend and her DH are on their way over for a relaxing day of food and films. I love Boxing Day

Ponoka7 · 26/12/2019 11:43

Lidl orange chocolate.

Then bacon butties.

Around midday I'm having bubble and squeak and sausages.

It's a three course breakfast.

ScabbyHorse · 26/12/2019 11:45

Toasted brioche with chocolate spread. Quality street and spicy Doritos with sour cream.

Armi · 26/12/2019 11:46

I made pancakes - proper, thin crepes- from scratch. I am feeling very smug about it as normally I just throw toast at everyone. Set the table with little bowls of different fillings, Christmas napkins, best plates, nice glasses for orange juice and everything.

That’s it for the day though. All other food will be scavenged from the fridge. I’m opening the port as soon as everyone is dressed (there’s still at least one child running around in a state of deshabille.)

Two vegetarian sausages with ketchup on a fresh bread roll ( just back from Tesco)

chilledteacher · 26/12/2019 11:55

Those pain au chocolat and cinnamon roll things you get in the fridge section at the supermarket in a tin that you make and bake with hot chocolate. And Yule log

MapMyMum · 26/12/2019 12:12

I had a quarter baguette with sausages and my mums homemade stuffing followed by a few Tofiffee. Have had 2 glasses of water rather than the remains of the fizzy pop so Im feeling righteous! HaloGrin

onlyhereforthefood · 26/12/2019 12:12

Just a small bowl of porridge here, we're cooking a boxing day feast that looks set to be bigger than yesterday's dinner so I wanted to save room!
