Lighthearted

I’ve had a few hard weeks but having cancelled all plans for the next few days, things are looking up. DH, kids and I are having some PJ days with very little effort involved.

So what wondrous feast did you have for breakfast?

I had:

1 parsnip
1 carrot poached on butter
2 roast potatoes dipped in ketchup
5 forkfuls of Black Forest Gateau
Handful of grapes
Diet Coke

Currently watching Groundhog Day and considering a second plate, maybe this time consisting of cheese.

3 cups of coffee and two ibuprofen
Ate too much cheese and half a box of Adli faux-Bendicks mints last night, not hungry yet. Mother of all turkey buffets at MIL's shortly.

Pork pie, Lindor truffles and Say Yes To The Dress

OccasionalNachos · 26/12/2019 11:18

Cheese on toast, about 10 Quality Street, a mince pie and a huge cup of tea. It was perfect.

Notagainnnn · 26/12/2019 11:18

Crossiants with bacon and cheese.

Oh I'm so jealous. DS(3) is so 'sensitive' to sugar (I.e. acts like madman on cocaine at the merest suggestion of a sweetie!) that I'm having to really moderate what im eating, since he doesnt leave my side!

nanbread · 26/12/2019 11:19

Great thread. I had fudge, honeycomb, toast, cereal and fruit. Now I want Yule log and roast potatoes.

Ariela · 26/12/2019 11:19

Bacon & Brie roll (the roll is from a very good bakery locally, not just your ordinary roll) and a coffee flavoured chocolate from a waitrose selection

BarbedBloom · 26/12/2019 11:19

An almond croissant and a quarter of a chocolate orange. DH had trifle

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 26/12/2019 11:22

I've had a bit of toblerone and a couple of After Eights. I'm getting worried the Toffiffees are feeling left out and wondering if l can manage a turkey sandwich, as l didn't have one yesterday and l'm feeling left out.

bruffin · 26/12/2019 11:22

A bagel with a orange and cider marmalade and a mouthful of Christmas pudding with a caramel macchiati

2 Thornton's continental and a frothy coffee. Building up to boxing day buffet lunch

FurryDogMother · 26/12/2019 11:25

I've got some of those Pilsbury Pain au Chocolate things in the fridge, so will be baking those in a minute (late out of bed this morning). Later it's the traditional (for us) St Stephen's Day feast of cold turkey and ham, hot mashed potato, salad leaves, bread sauce, pigs in blankets, cold stuffing, cranberry sauce and pickled walnuts. Maybe a mince pie or two with Bailey's cream for afters. Currently enjoying the feeling of not being stuffed, after the excesses of yesterday :)

aibutohavethisusername · 26/12/2019 11:25

Two pain au chocolate

Juanbablo · 26/12/2019 11:25

I baked some baguettes and I had a piece with cheese spread and a piece with Nutella. 😂 not sure that counts as a feast. The ds's had leftover pain au chocolate from yesterday. Dd has some baguette with ham and egg and so did dh.

Oldraver · 26/12/2019 11:27

DH is planning to get up shortly and I asked him what he was going to have for breakfast. 'Just coffee', he said.
