Lighthearted

I’ve had a few hard weeks but having cancelled all plans for the next few days, things are looking up. DH, kids and I are having some PJ days with very little effort involved.

So what wondrous feast did you have for breakfast?

I had:

1 parsnip
1 carrot poached on butter
2 roast potatoes dipped in ketchup
5 forkfuls of Black Forest Gateau
Handful of grapes
Diet Coke

Currently watching Groundhog Day and considering a second plate, maybe this time consisting of cheese.

Boxing Day hash: all leftover veggies whizzed together in the food processor with an egg then fried like a giant pancake & finished in the oven. Serve with hot salsa or mayo & a glass of champagne. Lush. DH prepping it now.

Well if you are all having chocolate based goods for breakfast I may as well join you all.... mmmmmmmmm, bloody love chocolate for breakfast me.

f00k · 26/12/2019 10:29

A handful of strawberry Quality Street and a cup of tea.

Brimful · 26/12/2019 10:31

Two coffees and an egg on toast. I feel boring!

DukeChatsworth · 26/12/2019 10:32

Sausage rolls, chestnut stuffing and cheesecake. A classic Boxing Day feast Xmas Grin

rainbowstardrops · 26/12/2019 10:33

I have three sausage rolls, two wantons, a mug of coffee and a glass of orange juice.
DD(14) is currently munching through a tube of sweets.
I've told her this will not happen tomorrow!

Thestrangestthing · 26/12/2019 10:33

Bacon sandwich, caramel syrup coffee. I've already started breaking out in spots because of all the sugar yesterday 😭 got a night out tomorrow!!

SerenDippitty · 26/12/2019 10:33

Slice of toast and marmite, half a banana, tea. We’ll be having a big cooked breakfast later on, it’s a Boxing Day tradition.

feckinarse · 26/12/2019 10:33

I was a very little bit hungover (no one else in this house likes cava, oh dear poor meeee) so I had peanut butter on toast and a big pot of strong tea.

And then 2 L of full-sugar coke. And NOW I'm okay! :)

Movinghouseatlast · 26/12/2019 10:34

A sandwich made from pigs in blankets and the bacon that had covered the turkey. Gorgeous!

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 26/12/2019 10:34

Tempura prawns, stilton and crackers, pickled onions and Christmas cake - food of the Gods!

feckinarse · 26/12/2019 10:35

Reading all these makes me aware of an unexpected downside of having Christmas Lunch in a restaurant, which we did this year (We live somewhere where it's common to have no oven) - it was bloody lovely not having to cook and no washing up, but... I am a bit sad we don't have any leftovers.

NoBlueXmasLightsAllowed · 26/12/2019 10:35

I made pancakes 😁 maple syrup and butter on top

koshkat · 26/12/2019 10:35

And then 2 L of full-sugar coke. Xmas Shock

aceyace · 26/12/2019 10:38

Christmas dinner bubble and squeak, orange matchmakers and some schloer

Serin · 26/12/2019 10:41

2L of coke Shock

We had scrambled egg and smoked salmon on muffins.

OneStepOneStumble · 26/12/2019 10:46

PlaymobilPirate · 26/12/2019 10:47

Pringles

JaceLancs · 26/12/2019 10:47

I’ve just had an espresso and skinny porridge (sat in cafe Nero people watching)
Trying to relax before I go and pick up DM to take her out for the day - she has Alzheimer’s and can be very difficult and tiring to be around
On the other hand I can’t leave her alone on Boxing Day - first one without my Dad who died 8 weeks ago
Tonight I will be with DD DS and DP raiding their fridge and eating all the leftovers from yesterday

CrowleysBentley · 26/12/2019 10:48

Coffee and a couple of mince pies. Yum.

orangejuicer · 26/12/2019 10:48

Handful of Roses

I had a couple of meringues and cream, melon and strawberries and then a croissant with butter and jam.

GruciusMalfoy · 26/12/2019 10:49

Just coffee. I'm hanging a bit, so holding out for cheese and crackers later when I'm a bit more more human.
