I am dreading tomorrow because of religion!

Dreading tomorrow with my family.
They are all strong in their faith Christians and I know there will be praying and thanking god etc.
I was brought up Christian but am no longer and I'm actually quite angry about religion at the moment. (Working through these issues with my counsellor.)
I know Christmas is a Christian holiday but I know I can't have a drink or I'll say something to cause an argument and I have to bite my tongue.
I've already said to dh that we're going away for Xmas next year cos I just don't want to deal with it.
I don't know how I'm going to get through the day without letting something slip!

I would rather be an Atheist and turn out to be wrong (unlikely) than align myself with any religion. Bigoted, sexist, misogynistic to name a few.

  1. how exactly has anything I have shared been “extremist”?
  2. what ,in your opinion, is true Christianity. If anyone has any issues with what i have said I will look to the bible to check myself and get back to you if it is scriptural or not if it isn’t I will redact it.

Why? Why did THIS SPECIFIC thread read to you as the place to evangelise? Why was this particular thread the place you felt is right? What right have you got to tell the Muslim/Pagan/Atheist posters here that they will go to hell if they do not accept Jesus as their saviour? You absolute drivel-filled horrid person. I feel wonderful that Mumsnet has removed the post where she posted threateningly saying those that don’t accept Jesus “you know what happens to them don’t you”. I reported it and they deleted it. Well done: now if they delete my post above I have no probs - they have done the right thing by not letting your evangelising implying to people they will go to hell stand.

The Bible is quite obviously NOT “inerrant”. (Who was Joseph’s father?)

And it is a shameful thing indeed that any educated person (as I assume you are) is able to say that the greatest scientific insight ever is a load of rubbish.

Yes, you DID get it wrong! The OP indicated they are psychologically and emotionally scared by proselytising. So what do you do? Attempt to use her pain, to proselytise some more. You seem to have no common sense, no compassion and sense of self-awareness. Someone with the brain of a goldfish would know this is most definitely not the thread to proselytise in. You shouldn't even need that explained to you. Your lack of social awareness and self awareness is astonishing. The very last thing a victim of religious scarring and proselytising needs is......more proselytising on her own thread. Read the room. Have a sensitivity chip. Anything. But as I said, it is people like you who are determined to 'evangelise' and proselytise that are the VERY....REASON people are turned away from religion. Keep your beliefs to yourself.

People have repeatedly asked you to stop and you haven’t, you’ve kept banging on and ironically turned more people away from your brand of Christianity than you could hope to attract.
