When will this odious individual just clear off

I thought he was supposed to be sorting out the middle east ?

He thinks we have forgotten his illegal war , selling our gold , creating millions of jobs and then giving them all away , his little twist on the Good Friday Agreement allowing immunity for IRA bombers, his millions of pounds and multiple homes , I could go on

I would love him to just Feck off and stay in oblivion !

unreasonable ?

Well he's not wrong.

And I absolutely will not criticise him for his role in getting the GFA over the line, that changed the face of NI.

But his views on Corbyn probably aren't helpful.

easyandy101 · 18/12/2019 16:32

Best prime minister in recent history tbf

Yeah he's a cunt, but puts the current offering to shame

Spent his entire premiership as an avid detractor and protesting against many of his decisions and policies but i guess i didn't know how bad politicians could be at that point

LaurieMarlow · 18/12/2019 16:33

Best prime minister in recent history tbf

Hard to argue with this

Cynara · 18/12/2019 16:36

I'm with you OP He's a smug, self-serving cunt and should shut the fuck up and fade into obscurity.

LellyMcKelly · 18/12/2019 16:36

He’s not wrong though, is he? Besides, he’s got as much right as anyone else to say what he wants. You wouldn’t be trying to shut down free speech now, would you?

Iamtooknackeredtorun · 18/12/2019 16:37

Not forgotten the Iraq war but I also haven’t forgotten all the positive things his three government administrations did. Whether you like him or not he speaks sense on Corbynism. Corbyn supporters are lashing out at everyone (‘Blue Labour’, LDs, Blair, BBC, MSM etc) but refuse to accept that having a leader that a significant number of voters dislike means that you’re going to lose the GE to a politician who everyone knows lies to them.

Taking labour back to true socialist principles is fine but just don’t ever expect to be in power again.

You may not be a corbyn supporter and just anti-Blair I realise.

Katharinblum · 18/12/2019 16:39

Puts the current shower of shit to shame ! Someone posted on twitter all the positive achievements of the labour administration the other day- if only governments of the last 10 years had managed the same.

Leafyhouse · 18/12/2019 16:40

The people more likely to 'shut the fuck up and fade into obscurity' are Momentum at the moment. Tony Blair's on the rise.

Iamtooknackeredtorun · 18/12/2019 16:41

There was this on Twitter today. twitter.com/russincheshire/status/1207071942601248772?s=21

Abraid2 · 18/12/2019 16:43

Tony Blair is right.

Alsohuman · 18/12/2019 16:44

I do hope you’re right @Leafyhouse. His governments were the greatest period of stability in my adult life. His contribution could be very valuable.

GlitchStitch · 18/12/2019 16:45

Yeah, what does he know? He only managed to win 3 elections Hmm

Goldensummer · 18/12/2019 16:45

Best Prine Minister in recent years? 🤔 Is that the same Prime Minister who's government left the country skint so when there was a world banking crash in 2008 we had no buffers whatsoever due to their overspending?

donquixotedelamancha · 18/12/2019 16:48

Spent his entire premiership as an avid detractor and protesting against many of his decisions and policies but i guess i didn't know how bad politicians could be at that point

Yeah, I'm like that. Never voted for him and I could list a litany of problems with his government but the Blair years look like a golden era compared to the shitshow of the last decade.

easyandy101 · 18/12/2019 16:49

Mostly of the thought we'll never know how anyone else would have dealt with the major problems that occurred during his tenure but i can't see that Iraq or the world financial crisis would have gone any differently regardless of who was in charge

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 18/12/2019 16:49

Sure, tell the one Labour leader who managed to put them in power that we don't want to hear from him.

No wonder the party is so fucked

Mintjulia · 18/12/2019 16:51

Oh God, just ignore him. The man is sleaze personified.

donquixotedelamancha · 18/12/2019 16:53

Is that the same Prime Minister who's government left the country skint so when there was a world banking crash in 2008 we had no buffers whatsoever due to their overspending?

The Blair government largely did not increase government expenditure as a percentage in of the economy. Thatcher spent far more than Blair.

I agree, with hindsight, they should have saved more in the good years but given the need to invest in neglected public services, I'm not sure that was obvious and no government has ever done it because it would be unpopular.

stairway · 18/12/2019 16:53

I suppose it doesn’t matter if you leave two countries destroyed, As long as our economy was ok. Might as well just be a conservative.

heath48 · 18/12/2019 16:54

Couldn’t put into words how much I despise this man.

@AlsoHuman,you seem to have blissfully ignored the war in Iraq!!!!

I have lived through the terms of many Prime Ministers.16 in total,he was the worst one by a country mile.He needs to get lost,Vile man.

Yesyesitsme · 18/12/2019 16:54

YABU. He's right.

flickeringcandle45 · 18/12/2019 16:55

Well at least he got elected.

And that is the only measure of a politicians success. If you dont get elected you dont change anything.

Alsohuman · 18/12/2019 16:56

I think the Iraq war would have happened whoever was PM, he was unlucky enough to be in charge at the time. Thatcher would have done it in a heartbeat.

reginafelangee · 18/12/2019 16:57

Most successful Labour Leader ever.

Current party would do well to listen to every word he has to say.

FreckledLeopard · 18/12/2019 16:58

The 2008 crash was a global economic diaster as a result of poor securitisation choices relating to the US sub-prime market - can't see how it was the fault of Blair.

I certainly think Tony Blair is one of the best leaders we've had in decades and it's a crying shame that there is no-one in the Labour Party now who could emulate Blair - the current Momentum mob have led to Labour's current disaster.
