One of our customers have me a box of soap the other day, does that count?

ColleysMill · 14/12/2019 07:51

I remember the days we used to get an extra half a days annual leave for christmas shopping. This was NHS and as staff we really appreciated it - it was great for morale.

Long gone now though. The shopping day I mean. Cant comment on morale!!

AgnesNitt1976 · 14/12/2019 07:54

I don't receive a bonus nor increase in hourly pay for working Christmas day, yet again third year in a row.

Christmasbonus · 14/12/2019 07:54

I don’t get a bonus but dh does
At Christmas he gets a 20 m&s voucher
His actual bonus is in April I think...usually 1.5k up to 2.5k (related to business performance...not personal performance)

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/12/2019 07:55

Nothing, nada, rien. I work for a charity. They don't have the money to pay bonuses.

NotSorry · 14/12/2019 07:57

I got £150 - it usually varies due to how well the business has done but the most I got was £200 a couple of years ago

Ironess · 14/12/2019 07:59

Ours was taken away from us in September, I'd had one every year for 20 years previously.

lottiegarbanzo · 14/12/2019 08:02

Wouldn't you get more useful answers if your husband asked his colleagues, rather than you asking people in wildly different fields of work?

hereiamagain84 · 14/12/2019 08:04

Nothing, I’ll be down 1 1/2 days pay down though due to industrial action (NHS N.Ireland)

Alloalloallo · 14/12/2019 08:06

Yes, last year it was £250.

Not sure this year, our workshop staff will get £100 plus a £50 supermarket voucher

We regularly give out discretionary bonuses throughout the year when someone goes out of their way

I once worked for a company who put everyone into a draw for a £10 ASDA voucher - we didn’t have an ASDA anywhere near us at the time

3drawercinemaclub · 14/12/2019 08:07

A&E. Working the Xmas period. I’ll get as much flu, MRSA and abuse as I like

Catapillarsruletheworld · 14/12/2019 08:09

I used to get a £50 Sainsbury’s voucher, from an employer years ago. I haven’t had anything for a long time and won’t this year.

grosseconnasse · 14/12/2019 08:12

I'm self-employed, so nothing.

BeyondMyWits · 14/12/2019 08:14

We usually have to take bank holidays from our annual leave allowance - except for Christmas day - so I guess monetarily that amounts to £65.68
(8 hours at minimum wage) - not to be sniffed at...

TheMostHappy · 14/12/2019 08:14

Public sector here, so absolutely zero. No party, no bonus, nada 😁

Biker47 · 14/12/2019 08:15

Yes, 3%, private sector.

Fuzzyspringroll · 14/12/2019 08:16

Yes. I teach at an independent school and we get about £1500 extra with our November pay.

happystory · 14/12/2019 08:18

I'm getting £100 which considering the shoestring budget we have is unexpected and very generous

FoxFoxSierra · 14/12/2019 08:19

£50 m&s voucher

DoTheHop · 14/12/2019 08:21

Yes, £10. Rock and roll on the dole. Wink

My MP was voted in again. He designed UC. So thank you Mr. Duncan-Smith for me tenner! 'Twouldn't be Christmas without ya!

BlackSwanGreen · 14/12/2019 08:22

I get £100 (public sector). DH would get more (a % if salary, private sector), but he's just changed jobs so won't be eligible this year.

TFthatsover · 14/12/2019 08:22

Nope nothing. Was getting £20 each towards a Christmas meal out but the restaurant chosen was miles away and rubbish so no-one wanted to go. Not totally ungrateful though as my job is flexible and I work from home a fair bit at short notice.

SproutinducingFarti · 14/12/2019 08:24

I'm self employed so nothing and i also have to factor in the fact that I don't earn anything over the holiday either!

Inspiralcarpetry · 14/12/2019 08:24

Absolutely nothing. Actually, that's not true. My colleague and I each got one Quality Street-I didn't even get my favourite orange cream!
Working in a school, I do however get to watch my lovely teaching colleagues receive HUGE amounts of vouchers and wine. I'm happy for them but am a tiny bit envious! Xmas Smile

lazyarse123 · 14/12/2019 08:30

We shared a damaged box of celebrations and £10 towards a meal which hou have to attend to receive it, i'd rather have the tenner. Retail. I love my colleagues but can't afford the meal with all the additional expense.
