No bonus in any company I've worked at sadly, I'm just glad offices are usually shut on Christmas so I'm not complaining. Years ago my dad used to get a hamper in his factory plus £100

WalkAwaySugarbear · 14/12/2019 06:35

£500 before tax, paid in November to help out with Xmas.

dalmatianmad · 14/12/2019 06:35

Me! I get to work Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day 🎅

Sockypuppet · 14/12/2019 06:36

I work in private sector. No Christmas bonus but boss is paying for night out.

iheartyoux · 14/12/2019 06:36

Nothing..work for the NHS

NotwhereIshouldbe · 14/12/2019 06:37

Nothing, not even a Christmas meal! I’m in third sector.

Justgivemesomepeace · 14/12/2019 06:38

£25 love to shop voucher

PooWillyBumBum · 14/12/2019 06:40

We usually get 8-12% in January however our company tracks the stock market and is B2B - we’ve really been suffering under the shadow of Brexit looming so there will be no bonuses.

My husbands bonus will be ~10% in April but he got a £50 gift card for Xmas. No party though - French company and apparently they don’t do that (bit jealous!!)

NemophilistRebel · 14/12/2019 06:42

About £1100 this year, reduced from previous years

piercedmyfootonaspike · 14/12/2019 06:43

Me and my husband are both public sector so never had a bonus or free night out sadly. Everyone brings in homemade goodies (or m and s in my case) if we work over Christmas so the atmosphere is fun. Would love some free money though! Can your husband check with HR/payroll if he's not sure?

Rach000 · 14/12/2019 07:05

We get a Christmas meal and few drinks. We organise it ourselves and get an allowance so can do it with other departments or just out team. So not bad. We dont get a bonus but I did get a letter this week saying I would get a payment from enhanced holiday pay, dont really understand it as it's on top of holidays and bank holiday but wont complain as its just over £100.

KamikazeIdiot · 14/12/2019 07:14

No. I've never worked anywhere in the UK that paid bonuses to employees at my level.

I used to work in Germany, where your annual salary was divided into thirteen equal parts. You received one part each month, with the thirteenth part paid out as two seasonal supplements: one in the summer (Urlaubsgeld) and one at Christmas (Weihnachtsgeld).

MsAwesomeDragon · 14/12/2019 07:17

No bonus, nothing. But at least I get 2 weeks at home as I'm a teacher. I'm very glad I don't have to work over the festive period, and I'm very grateful to those who do work.

christmasbow · 14/12/2019 07:19

No. Never received a Christmas bonus. Am in the private sector

Obligatorync · 14/12/2019 07:33

We used to get £100, but were told in January it wouldn't be happening again. To be fair, nowhere else I've worked has had them and they couldn't afford it really.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 14/12/2019 07:37

Yes, it's usually in the form of gift cards though not cash.

I got £180 last year but I'm not expecting that much this year as things have been quieter, probably due to the economic uncertainty (I work for a small business).

Angeldust747 · 14/12/2019 07:39

Used to be a £35 voucher but this year its only £25 🙄 had to pay for our own Christmas party too!

AlwaysCheddar · 14/12/2019 07:40

Big fat zero ..... oh.... a crap Xmas card which my boss just writes his name in. Nothing else like good job, enjoy the holidays.

BrexitBirgit · 14/12/2019 07:41

Never had one (public sector/HE/Research) but once got a JL hamper. Subsidized Christmas lunch coming up next week.

KatherineJaneway · 14/12/2019 07:41

Not a thing

Fairylea · 14/12/2019 07:41

I’m a full time carer for my disabled son. The government gives me an extra £10 in my carers allowance (£66 a week)...

Singlebutmarried · 14/12/2019 07:45

5-10% of salary dependant on company performance and on personal performance.

Paid December (co performance) and feb/mar (personal performance)

wobytide · 14/12/2019 07:46

Not specifically xmas bonuses just happens that some places paid in January, some in April and current company is December. But been anything from 0% to 16% as performance/ business related rather than festive spirit.

Generally had a xmas party each year laid on with some free stuff

MondeoFan · 14/12/2019 07:47

No bonus, we've had a meal out, plus an activity that was paid for by them, will also get £30 gift voucher

Tiredmum100 · 14/12/2019 07:50

£0. I work for the nhs as a nurse. I'm still waiting for my correct pay after increasing my hours in September that's my bonus at the moment. My sister worked for a building society and would get a couple of hundred pound at Christmas.
