My 'Christmas Bonus' is that I get to input lots of assessment data, mark 4 boxes of books ready for the book scrutiny we've got on the first day back, plan 6 weeks worth of Geography/RE/Guided Reading and DT...all whilst wearing pyjamas and not having to leave my sofa 👍 Ahhh the joys of 'the holidays' 😩

MarchionessOfCholmondeley · 20/12/2019 08:51

NHS worker so no bonus. Although the consultant I work for is always puts a very generous gift card in with his Christmas card.

DH gets a performance related bonus in April, so after tax that will be about £7k.

He has also been drafted into a crack team to respond to RFI's from clients, they lost a huge sale earlier this year as they couldn't assmeble a team a) in time b) commit for a certain length of time. So to be ready to travel anywhere in Europe at the drop of a hat there is an extra £1000 a month before tax.

He is currently, including commuting doing 65 hour weeks, so he bloody deserves it.

My company give you a £25 voucher for Sainsburys and the management team generally go to an industry related ball in Park Lane at the end of November.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 20/12/2019 08:56

Public sector, so no bonus, obviously. However, I did win a £20 gift voucher in the Flu Jab lottery, and am ridiculously pleased Grin.

Indie139 · 20/12/2019 14:09

£50

SlidingIntoForties · 20/12/2019 14:22

Yes, 2%.

Last job paid a bonus in May and that was around 20-25%. Which was obviously lovely (and is well missed now!).

Tobebythesea · 20/12/2019 14:23

I got a £50 bonus whilst working at Sainsburys at 16, 20 years ago Grin

That was great. We thought we were loaded considering we got paid £3.15 an hour!

I8toys · 20/12/2019 14:39

I am really really lucky. I have got Molton Brown goodies from one boss, 1 bottle of prosecco and 1 one bottle of Moet. £300 worth of vouchers, plus I get a bonus earlier in the year.

Becca83 · 20/12/2019 14:41

Public sector here too, so no bonus, no party and no meal (not paid for anyway!)

elliejjtiny · 20/12/2019 14:42

Dh is self employed so he didn't get anything. I got £10

Tobebythesea · 20/12/2019 14:48

I once got chocolates from the CEO when I worked for an NHS a few years ago. Everyone got them and a lot of staff were offended as we hadn’t had any pay rises for a long time.

Tobebythesea · 20/12/2019 14:48

Trust

silencebeforethebleeps · 20/12/2019 14:49

lol no. No bonus or gift or party.

I did however have to organise a Christmas dinner for my team that they had to pay for themselves, and after they had all 'paid their share' I was left out of pocket.

newmumwithquestions · 20/12/2019 14:57

Get a bonus in April (well hopefully will) should be about 12%. But I’ll be working unpaid overtime over Christmas to do the work to hit targets so I get it.
1 Christmas party, 1 team meal. All paid for (with some but not all alcohol provided).

Saranvenya · 20/12/2019 15:04

Months wages, mince pies and bottle of wine in 1 company I work for.
Christmas party paid for in another.
In the 3rd nothing.

tinytoast · 20/12/2019 15:12

I get my bonus in April! It's a performance bonus though but still £5000!

bookworm14 · 20/12/2019 15:17

I get £500, which is very nice.

DuckWillow · 20/12/2019 15:23

Got given an extra £10 as DS gets PIP and I am his a Carer.

Worked for years in the NHS so no bonus there.

Appletreehouse · 20/12/2019 15:27

Public sector so none, and we pay for our own xmas do. But I've a really good boss who took us out for lunch last week at his own expense, small team of 3. Was a nice gesture.

AGnu · 20/12/2019 15:31

No bonus as such but I did get an unexpected pay rise - from min. wage to slightly above min. wage! Grin

AFAIK, DH hasn't got a bonus this year either. He had done for the last few years but he's always been told that they only give bonuses to a few people each year so I guess it's fair for someone else to get it! It was actual money though, unlike one of his previous companies who gave multiple bottles of cheap wine as Christmas presents to all employees. It's a good thing neither of us are alcoholics...!

nowaypose · 20/12/2019 15:31

I’m a teacher so no bonus. DH gets a 5% bonus, gifts (last year he got a huge cheese board and wine) and fish and chips for lunch on the final day of work. Lucky bastard.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 20/12/2019 15:31

I work in a school and so get a few gifts (chocolate, toiletries etc) from some of our lovely parents who appreciate the work I do with their dcs. But nothing official, not even a card from slt.

nowaypose · 20/12/2019 15:33

They paid for a fancy three course meal (think veal and caviar) and a free bar all night for their Christmas party too. I’m not jealous at all. If you want bonuses, definitely work in the private sector.

coconutty101 · 20/12/2019 15:33

Xmas bonus...
I'm a nurse.
Sadly there's no such thing in the NHS!

cricketballs3 · 20/12/2019 15:51

Teacher - no bonus, in fact after the increased spending I do for my students I have far less than usual.

DH normally gets £1000-£1500 but nothing this year due to organisational changes (we normally rely on that to cover the additional costs, didn't find out no bonus until the other week so this month is going to be really tight)
