Nope and we pay for our Christmas party - NHS. I'm not complaining because, despite public opinion on nhs salaries, I feel I'm paid well and has the best night in a long time at the Christmas party. My previous employer used to give me a bottle of alcohol like Bacardi (10 years on it's still in the cupboard).

PsuedoSatisfactionBaby · 14/12/2019 13:02

No Christmas bonus but dinner and night out with team paid for and sometimes an extra days holiday. We do get an annual performance related bonus in March though

scoobyd2 · 14/12/2019 13:26

None here, although annual bonus is in April. At Christmas we usually get something from manager, either a bottle of something or a voucher, but that is up to each manager. This is my 13th Christmas at the company, new boss only been in the role since June, and suspect this will be the first one where we don't get anything (although he'll almost certainly get something from HIS boss - and tell us all about it)

Emeraldshamrock · 14/12/2019 13:32

Yes I get a €100 gift card with a staff night out. As it is a 24 hour business the staff who don't go for the night out and work get an extra €50 in their wage next week. me tonight CBA going

Serenity45 · 14/12/2019 13:44

No bonus or meal paid for by the organisation (I work for a charity). But we are paid well for our sector and get Christmas Eve off as an extra day without having to use annual leave. If it falls on a weekend day we get the Friday off.

tillytrotter1 · 14/12/2019 19:21

In teaching I never got anything I didn't pay for at Christmas, at least it removed any obligation to attend nights out etc.

londonrach · 14/12/2019 19:24

Nhs dont do bonuses....if we lucky a nice patient might give us some choc biscuits to share in our staff room with no windows if we get time to eat them that be amazing. We do remember the patients that do!

Sooperkat · 14/12/2019 19:24

I got 7.5% and a Christmas lunch in the canteen. We’re going on a team night out but that’s self funded

DonnaDarko · 14/12/2019 19:25

Everyone in our company is getting a bonus this year for smashing our target. It's not a big company but it will £1000 each , pro rata for anyone who started part way through the year, like me. No Christmas do but that's cos we do something big in January instead.

Thestaffarealwayswrong · 14/12/2019 19:31

Hospitality and no Christmas bonus, Christmas event of some description after Christmas when we're all exhausted.
Will consider it a bonus if I get more than one day off before Jan 2nd and manage to get through working a party night without being called a name, splitting up a potential scrap or cleaning up vomit. Can't see it happening!

19lottie82 · 14/12/2019 19:32

I’m 37 and have never worked anywhere with a Christmas bonus!

Notnownotneverever · 14/12/2019 19:33

Public sector here. No bonus. No Christmas do. In fact only the electricity is supplied. We supply the tea, coffee, milk and kettle.Grin

Notnownotneverever · 14/12/2019 19:35

Our staff room is also a storage cupboard.Grin

BringOnTheScience · 14/12/2019 19:41

I'm ex utility company - performance-related bonus and subsidised team meal.

Ex teacher - gifts from pupils/parents and pay for your night out.

Now private company - generous bonus 10% of annual salary, 2 festive lunches & an evening party, plus other goodies.

No comparison! 🤣

KittenVsXmastree · 14/12/2019 19:42

Looking on the bright side, I get to spend this Christmas with my husband. Spent 3 of the last 4 years with him 3000 miles away working.

Pinkblanket · 14/12/2019 19:44

No, I have never worked anywhere that gives a bonus, public or private sector.

Serin · 14/12/2019 19:51

OneForMeToo · 14/12/2019 19:56

DrMartenswillcunow · 14/12/2019 20:28

countdowntochristmas · 14/12/2019 21:01

I work for a big drinks wholesaler so got a decent bonus of over a £1000 was really surprised and pleased it's the most I've ever got . We also get a paid for Christmas party , a bottle of alcohol to choose (wholesale prices )so usually get a nice bottle of gin . And we usually get catering in one lunch time . I'm know I'm lucky I've worked in places lucky to get some chocolates.

Inliverpool1 · 14/12/2019 21:09

Not employing anyone at the moment but when we do there will be a 10% of basic salary Christmas bonus. Cheaper than hiring staff in January

babymidgetgem · 15/12/2019 10:06

Well, this is the first year where we haven't been told that there is a threat of redundancy in the new year...

villamariavintrapp · 15/12/2019 10:12

NHS so absolutely nothing.

marriedthegambler · 15/12/2019 10:21

We get 15 mins extra for lunch break and luckily I get Christmas Day off 🥳🥳🥳
The days leading up to Christmas and after new year are some kind of fresh hell so that 15 mins will go a long way to helping refresh us 🤣

Mrsfs · 15/12/2019 10:28

We goy £500 as a Christmas bonus and a fully paid Christmas meal.
