To think it’s utterly disgraceful that Corbyn hasn’t resigned

The man is the reason the Labour Party didn’t stand a chance in the GE

Yet today he doesn’t even have the good grace or integrity to step aside

Is their anyone at all who supports him in that decision?

@Branleuse

Classic. It wasn’t Jeremy’s fault. He would have done better if only we have a better electorate. Genius.

Sorry, I meant utterly barmy, deluded and wrong.

tilder · 13/12/2019 19:44

Fucking nut job. Charming. So somebody doesn't agree with you, you insult them. Great political tactic there.

He and labour can be as nice and fair as they like. Counts for nothing unless they can win. The message does not seem to be getting through. The Corbyn/Momentum brand is not a winner.

Please wake up and sort your house out. We need a strong opposition. Or we will end up in hard right Brexit land (if we're not there already).

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 19:45

He has and had absolutely loads of support. People aren't rioting in London for no reason.

It's just that Britain is massively right wing, as PP stated.

needsomehelptoday · 13/12/2019 19:45

People in this country are massively right wing?????

😂😂😂😂😂

4cats2kids · 13/12/2019 19:46

YANBU a lot of his ideas, like free broadband, just made people think he would get the country into huge amounts of debt. Sure, the majority of the press are biased, but labour won’t win until they have a moderate leader who voters can trust.

Amanduh · 13/12/2019 19:46

Some of his supporters sound like they’re in a cult. Hero, amazing, dignified, none of this is down to him, he only lost due to the media, it would be funny if it wasn’t sp worrying!

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 19:47

Yes, this country is massively right wing. Did you read the news today?

jewel1968 · 13/12/2019 19:48

I do think people put way too much emphasis on the Leader. It is a party with members and processes etc. I think the same of BJ and the Tories- it is a party.... it is like we are primates or something. Oh wait....

Bearbehind · 13/12/2019 19:49

Some of his supporters sound like they’re in a cult. Hero, amazing, dignified, none of this is down to him, he only lost due to the media, it would be funny if it wasn’t sp worrying!

This ^^

I honestly don’t understand it

The man is so bad that he’s allowed Boris Fucking Johnson to win because he’s the least worst option, yet still his disciples are praising Corbyn.

He's a fucking fantastic cult leader, his followers would follow him right of a cliff edge if he asked.

Labour could have walked this election with a different leader.

MarshmallowMuggle · 13/12/2019 19:51

Yeah, and he should write his resignation in the blood of his firstborn too. Hmm

The man is stepping down as soon as the party has had chance to nominate someone else. I cannot bear him, but come on, what more can he do right now?

Happinessinapeartree · 13/12/2019 19:52

If you've associated with the IRA and support antisemitisim then the british public will not elect you.

Find a leader who has zero connection with those two areas and labour might stand a chance in 2024.

kinsss · 13/12/2019 19:52

I think he wants to have an input on the next Leader.

Egos or us.

He would have been so much more respected if he had gone this morning. But Command and Control wins out now. Sadly.

Odious egotistical person IMV of course.

noblegiraffe · 13/12/2019 19:52

what more can he do right now?

Resign immediately, like every other normal leader does when there’s a massive fuck-up.

Cherrysoup · 13/12/2019 19:52

Trouble is, an awful lot of voters defected because they didn’t like him. You could exaggerate madly say that a broom handle could have got more votes for Labour, but ultimately, knowing how he is viewed by many former Labour supporters, he should have stepped down some time ago.

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 19:54

Whereas a man who refers to watermelon smiles and women being letterboxes was a shoe in.

Bollocks.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 13/12/2019 19:55

Agree Corbyn wants his input in who shall take over - sadly will be someone from the left

Will take a little time for Labour to sort themselves out and the left can go back to planning the revolution, rubbing shoulders with dubious characters or whatever the fuck they did for years before they got the chance to keep Labour in opposition

koshkat · 13/12/2019 19:56

JC followers are deluded they will excuse him time and time again. Labour were absolutely trashed yesterday down to Corbyn and co and Momentum
100% this.

He should have nothing to do with his successor and the fact that he clearly wants to get involved is worrying for all Labour voters. The JC worshippers just do not get it do they?

noblegiraffe · 13/12/2019 19:56

People keep going ‘oh but 2017, people liked him then’

No, people voted Labour in 2017 because Theresa May was promising fox hunting, grammar schools and more austerity with the grace of a robot. Not because they really liked Corbyn.

This result is the one that should have happened in 2017, except worse, because it gave more time for the antisemitism crisis to develop.

Bearbehind · 13/12/2019 19:56

Whereas a man who refers to watermelon smiles and women being letterboxes was a shoe in.

Exactly

The fact that man was a ‘shoe in’ only confirm just how bad Corbyn is

TheBlueStocking

Just because you loath Corbyn does not make you a supporter of Johnson

I blame Corbyn/Momentum for making it so easy for the Tories

koshkat · 13/12/2019 19:57

Plus he hates women and wanted to amend the GRA AND the EA2010. Bloody scary.

ColaFreezePop · 13/12/2019 19:58

@Expo agree with you completely.

@MarshmallowMuggle Just go. Like the Lib Dems the labour party can appoint an interim leader. Then again he isn't a leader.

BelleSausage · 13/12/2019 19:59

@TheBlueStocking

Yes, and that odious man beat yours by a country mile. What does that tell you about the quality of your offering?

The voters are no different now than they were in 2017. The difference is that most voters are centrists. All they want is stability and the middle of the road. Corbyn failed to offer them what they wanted.

That is HIS fault not theirs.

tilder · 13/12/2019 20:00

I loathe Boris. Am a staunch remainer.

Had a chat with dh last night. 'What do you think is worse. Tory majority and Brexit or Corbyn majority'.

One of us works nhs, the other in an industry that will be destroyed by a a right wing Brexit.

What a horrible choice. We both thought Corbyn would ultimately be more damaging to the country.

Voted for neither.
