If so, how long do you think you will last before your eyelids droop and you nod off?

I reckon I can last until about 3ish.

Me ...

I've taken tomorrow off work specially for this

But, I was up for work at 4.30am this (thurs) morning so ...

Gonna give it my best shot tho

(is it sad that I love watching the process unfold ?)

Perihelion · 12/12/2019 19:18

Michael Portillo was my MP for a while.
Was in a pub having a lock in on election night in 1997. When he lost, the landlord brought out champagne and we partied for hours.
Back when we naively thought Blair was fab Hmm

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 19:18

actiongirl1978 I've just ordered a pizza and now you come on here talking about bacon sarnies grr - now I want a bacon sarnie and don't have bacon until supermarket delivery tomorrow. Envy

Abc123def OMG, you're going to need matchsticks to prop open your eyes tomorrow.

No way do i want to watch the dire state of British politics get even worse literally overnight.

Kuponut · 12/12/2019 19:20

Planning on it - I love election night! (I did a politics degree I loved politics so much - not the creatures involved, but the observation of them in their native habitat).

Always like to watch the Sunderland count to see who I know who's showed up there.

DuckWillow · 12/12/2019 19:20

Nope, had a job interview today and got myself all worked up because of it.

So I am now officially exhausted.

On the plus side I start a new job in January. 😁

Predicting a Tory majority but only a narrow one.

BloomedAgain · 12/12/2019 19:20

@NotStayingIn that sounds intriguing!
@OlaEliza I think you could watch some live tv on youtube eg Sky news live or some other non Murdoch channel?

TheClausSeason · 12/12/2019 19:21

I might. I've got shit-tons of work that needs doing, may as well do it while I've got the election coverage to keep me company.

gingergittable · 12/12/2019 19:22

I'm five hours behind so that will help. Not quite figured out how to watch it yet though.

ChristmasSweet · 12/12/2019 19:25

No I have a job to go to so can't be sleep deprived. Plus it's not going to be a good outcome no matter what so it really doesn't matter who wins.

madcatladyforever · 12/12/2019 19:27

No, I'm bored shitless with politics and I'm working in the NHS tomorrow.

lavenderbongo · 12/12/2019 19:29

I’m in NZ. I’d like to watch it live this morning here, but I can’t figure out how to watch it online. Anyone got any ideas?

Skyejuly · 12/12/2019 19:31

I want too. But I already know a Tory majority and it sickens me.

Cookie79 · 12/12/2019 19:31

I’m working on a count later so am staying up until we’re let go then back to bed for a few hours and back in the office (council staff).

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 19:32

Have you got enough tech savvy to know how to try and get on iPlayer from NZ?

Ledkr · 12/12/2019 19:33

I might be up as I've also got a bad cold and cough. I'm gonna watch the c4 alternative election coverage I think .

Albern · 12/12/2019 19:34

Yep I am.working a night shift so I will be.

KittenVsXmastree · 12/12/2019 19:35

Hell no.
Ours isnt predicted to be called til 2-3am anyway.
And basically, the country is fucked whatever happens.
There isnt a good outcome in this election. I've voted for the candidate who I think will do best for the area. The parties, and most of their leaders, all suck.

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 19:37

Skyejuly Is there any chance you could not bring party politics into the thread? God knows there are plenty of other threads where you can express your view as we have all done over the last few days.

It would be nice to have one thread where we don't rip each other to shreds.

Obviously it's entirely up to you - I'm just asking.

Skyejuly · 12/12/2019 19:39

Sorry. I just posted with the general reason why!

Skyejuly · 12/12/2019 19:39

I am also working at 7am on a 12hr shift so I don't plan too..but usually sleep quite bad on a ge night and keep checking!

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 12/12/2019 19:41

I can't, I've got work in the morning and no leave left to take Sad

Nquartz · 12/12/2019 19:41

@KittenVsXmastree

That was the approach I took, it's not going to feel like a good day tomorrow no matter what happens.

Monsterinmyshoe · 12/12/2019 19:42

No. I plan to stick my head in the sand for the next few days and ignore the inevitable!

lavenderbongo · 12/12/2019 19:42

I can’t get iplayer over here VanyaHargreeves. I’m going to try a live news broadcast via YouTube.
