To think if you earn under 85k or aren't selfish its a no brainier to vote Labour?

voteJC · 11/12/2019 15:04

It's closer than ever. They have promised to end homelessness, fix the NHS, the biggest grants ever to improve home insulation, pay the WASPI women the money that was taken from them and so much more.

The only down side is people earning over 85k will pay 5% more tax. It's so little for so much.

It's closer than ever and I the country would be so much better with labour.

You genuinely don’t know a single person voting Labour? I would imagine most of us know people voting all kinds of ways, if they choose to say at all.

Further on anti semitism, Labour isn’t faultless here but I’ve not heard any condemnation of the 3 Tory MPs currently under investigation for anti semitism. Boris Johnson hasn’t expelled them.. but then his own track record isn’t great. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/politics/2019/dec/11/boris-johnsons-record-of-bigotry-antisemitism-and-far-right-politics-must-not-be-forgotten

We live in bubbles, don’t we? I don’t know anyone who’s voting Tory so I can well believe some people don’t know anyone who’s voting Labour.

Mmm to some extent! While quite a few friends are left leaning, my closest friend is a Tory, my boss is a Tory and my parents are appallingly right wing! I like and respect all of them, however dodgy I find their politics because how boring it would be to just surround yourself with people who always agree with you?!

Might want to do a bit more reading up OP

I don’t think it works like that. My parents are dead, when I worked it was in the NHS which is overwhelmingly left leaning and my friends tend to be the same kind of people as me - birds of a feather and all that. The lack of conflict is peaceful, not boring.

Christ this is dull now. Any time somebody holds a different opinion, they're a bot?

I think I might create a bot that replies to any post about bots saying "don't be a tool".

Totally agree and I don’t know one single person voting labour thank goddess

It’s also pretty safe to assume that if someone hasn’t told you which way they’re voting, it’s conservative

Well that makes no sense

Yup. History shows voting for an anti Semite is a no brainier for a lot of people. Just personally not something I would choose to do.

I did that questionnaire thingy, which took about 20 minutes and made me pick from manifesto promises.
My result was the Brexit party.

Hell would freeze over before I voted for this woman hater. Like Jo Swinson, he's happy to give away female legal rights to appease a few genderists. Just today he has admitted he plans to remove women's legal protections from the GRA.

That's a completely unfair parallel to draw.
Try again when you can find an anti semitic leader who is worshipped by a cult-like faction that has taken over an existing party, marginalising and excluding the other party members, that wishes to nationalise everything and considers democracy to be a bad idea except when they get what they want.

Not everyone earning over £85k are selfish gits! We are voting Green - our MP is Green - not Tory. And I would love Labour to win.
But I'm not your problem if you want a Labour gov or a Lab lead coalition - it's the WC voters who want Brexit 'done' and vote for a party that treat WC people with distain.

Labour will bring in self ID in the Gender Recognition Act and remove women's sex based protections within the Equality Act 2010.
Lost my vote there...

They’re all doing that. Heard Jo Swinson lately?

Report
Baguetteaboutit · 12/12/2019 09:53

At least Swinson is up front about this policy. Labour were incredibly duplicitous about it, saying on the one hand that they would not amend the GRA but saying on the other that they'd move to a position of self id, thus rendering the former redundant. Playing silly buggers with women's rights with a slight of hand with words makes me deeply suspicious about other bad faith game play.

I've voted Labour, fwiw but pretending that

Report
Baguetteaboutit · 12/12/2019 09:54

this is ok, is bullshit.

The best I can say is that I think and hope they are the least worst option and that the conservatives will hold them to account on this matter.
