I find Corbyn deeply unsettling

There is something about the man that makes me shudder - the cold detachment of the man.

I really do worry about what would be unleashed if he were elected.

I can cope with much of the sentiment in the Labour manifesto, but not the man. Similar feelings about Mc Donnell, but he seems to manage to pull out some humanity in interviews

Find this surprising. Whether you like his policies or not I think he comes over as warm and caring albeit slightly awkward.

TitsInAbsentia · 10/12/2019 20:59

@BiologyIsReal I too am politically homeless, I've done plenty of the policy reading/comparing and I always end up back in the same place. I can't even go on personality because there are no personalities that I would feel happy with in charge. I really think hibernation for at least 3 months is my only realistic way of dealing with this....

lesleyw1953 · 10/12/2019 21:00

His silly lies drive me nuts - especially the whole Queen's speech fiasco. No-one cares if he watches it or not. Seriously -it's not going to lose him any votes. So why lie about it?

Justanotherlurker · 10/12/2019 21:05

So much better than having a government that will give us an NHS and a benefits system that keep people alive but is led by someone who looks a bit ill at ease around small children he doesn't know

I agree, we could have someone who has the backing of Storm Front and the BNP that Hope not Hate are trying to highlight.

We can all play political spin, I can call out obvious shills as well.

RedWineIsFabulous · 10/12/2019 21:08

You are right .

He gives me chills. As does McDonnell.

I have read his record on backing Hamas, supporting the IRA, appeasing the Kremlin...

A lot to worry about at the mere prospect of him as PM.

FixTheBone · 10/12/2019 21:10

What you think of Corbyn is largely irrelevant. If Labour lose on Thursday, he'll step aside for s new leader. If they win, he'll step aside aside in time for the next election, which will be early and follow enacting a referendum result...

Hingeandbracket · 10/12/2019 21:11

I have read his record on backing Hamas, supporting the IRA, appeasing the Kremlin...
Where did you read all that shit?

Whilst he was talking to the IRA. so was Thatcher - only she was lying about it.

HotWaterBottleAndABottleOfWine · 10/12/2019 21:11

I find Jo Swinsom more unsettling! And Boris - well ....

AlphaJura · 10/12/2019 21:11

Sorry but I can't see that atall. I think when he meets real people eg at grenfell but all the time in communities, he seems to genuinely care. BJ seems fake, cringeworthy and unable to relate to real people imo. It all seems an act.

Deadsouls · 10/12/2019 21:12

YANBU as obviously you have your own perception of JC and entitled to that.

Interesting, as I have the opposite perception. I find him to be very authentic and BJ full of bluster and lies.

ArseDarkly · 10/12/2019 21:12

Ooh look over here, it's antisemitism! Look look everybody, antisemitism !

Yeah, i know we Tories don't really give a shit about Jews or any other minority group, in fact we hate them all but look over here anyway!

Definitely don't look over there at the the lying corrupt Boris Johnson sneaking into number 10...

ArseDarkly · 10/12/2019 21:14

Did I do that right Justanotherlurker? Hope so, I really want to get on in the Tory party!

Poetryinaction · 10/12/2019 21:14

Nope.
Boris on the other hand.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 10/12/2019 21:15

I kind of know what you mean.

He comes out with all the platitudes about being so caring and respectful, but I always get the feeling that he would throw his own Nan under a bus if he thought it would make him look good to certain people. It is kind of unsettling.

Still I'm going to vote Labour as the alternative is Boris and the Tories so 'whaddayagonnado'?

ThebishopofBanterbury · 10/12/2019 21:17

How bizarre, I completely disagree with you. He seems far more emphatic than that cold shite Boris.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 10/12/2019 21:17

His silly lies drive me nuts - especially the whole Queen's speech fiasco.

Yeah, why bullshit about it?

TheresWaldo · 10/12/2019 21:18

"His silly lies drive me nuts - especially the whole Queen's speech fiasco. No-one cares if he watches it or not. Seriously -it's not going to lose him any votes. So why lie about it?" Did he lie about it - thought he said he watched it on catch up. Though why anyone should care... As opposed to Boris who just lies about everything all the time? He's like a big spoiled child Boris, lying and footstamping. We wouldn't put up with it with our 3 year olds.

Elbeagle · 10/12/2019 21:20

His silly lies drive me nuts - especially the whole Queen's speech fiasco

Did he lie about it? How do we know it was a lie?

ArseDarkly · 10/12/2019 21:22

His silly lies drive me nuts - especially the whole Queen's speech fiasco.

God yeah - that wasn't silly, that was shocking. Actually lying to the Queen about his reasons for shutting down Parliament. And then having to be dragged through the courts to get our parliament open again! Really sickening - that's the sort of thing dictators do.

You were talking about Boris Johnson weren't you..?

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 10/12/2019 21:22

He said 'It’s on in the morning, usually we have it on… some of the time'

Bollocks.

Scummymummy56 · 10/12/2019 21:22

You're not being unreasonable if you care for the Jewish community and also don't like terrorism.

janmag1 · 10/12/2019 21:24

Anyone can write compassionate caring words and pull fantastic ideas out that it is not credible to fulfil. All of them lie.It appears to be a requirement of the job.The best way to decide on how to vote, it seems to me, is to do your own research, be sceptical about sensationalist media, and make up your own mind.If you want out ofvEUbits conservative or brexitbparty. If you want in it’s one of the others

AlphaJura · 10/12/2019 21:24

Actually pmsl 😂 at 'ruthlessness'. Seems these Corbyn haters can't make their minds up. One minute he's 'wishy washy' and an ineffective leader, the next he's some sort of ruthless dictator. I think what they may mistake as his ruthlessness is in general he sticks to his beliefs and principles. He hasn't really changed. BJ on the other hand changes his views more than his clothes and will say whatever he thinks is required at any given time.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 10/12/2019 21:26

And it's not that I care about whether JC watches the Queens Speech or not, or whether he knows what time of day its on, I don't give a fuck. He should just own this stuff, who cares?!

Sneezewitch · 10/12/2019 21:27

Even if Corbyn might be a bit steely somewhere in there-after all he’s spent a very long time fighting for what he believes in-surely that’s a desirable attribute in a leader? And massively balanced by what I’m seeing, which is a powerful belief in his duty to represent the people who elect him. Whereas Johnson appears to only represent himself.
