I find Corbyn deeply unsettling

There is something about the man that makes me shudder - the cold detachment of the man.

I really do worry about what would be unleashed if he were elected.

I can cope with much of the sentiment in the Labour manifesto, but not the man. Similar feelings about Mc Donnell, but he seems to manage to pull out some humanity in interviews

But I am enjoying this whole it's not a publicity contest approach of labour supporters. So you know your leader hasn't the right personality for the job, but you still want him in. I'm not even sure he wanted to lead labour in the first place.

Homelessness is a very complex issue. Whilst there are genuine families displaced, the majority of the homeless are addicts and are unfortunately there because they can't and won't break the cycle. Helping them doesn't particularly work. It's true you have to be the one to make the change when it's an addiction issue.

ditto - but for me it's Boris Johnson - self serving idiot

Santasleftboot · 11/12/2019 07:29

@whatyournamebabee

how convenient that the homeless people are mostly to blame. Let's just ignore them and crack on eh?

JoyceJames · 11/12/2019 08:03

Me too OP. You'd have to be pretty dim not to notice a problem with him. The election has really brought it out.

Besidesthepoint · 11/12/2019 08:13

The past few years a lot of people wanted a new vote over brexit. The EU extended with the provision that there would be an election. This is it. Why now is not brexit being discussed or campaigned for or against? There are all these threads discussing parties and people for the short term instead of discussing the long term brexit/no brexit. There are even a lot of people thinking of spoiling their vote. As an EU citizen I hope that we don't extend any longer, it just doesn't seem to me that you are taking brexit seriously, since when you get the chance to rectify the vote and get a definite answer you all do pretty much nothing.

Harpingon · 11/12/2019 08:19

Despite disliking Corbyn I have had to change my vote at the very last minute to Labour. I have never voted for them before but I spoke with my child's nurse last night about how things in the NHS really were behind the scenes and it is worse than I could have believed.
How we treat the old, the sick and the disabled defines us.

Onescaredmuma · 11/12/2019 08:21

I actually agree something about him strikes me as off in a bad way. I don't know whether it's the teenage defiant stare on an old man or something more sinister I actually would probably vote Labour for any one but him as it is I'm Spoiling my paper. He strikes me as someone playing the part of human and he fucking terrifies me.

Elbeagle · 11/12/2019 08:21

The election has really brought it out

But it has brought out nothing but warmth, compassion and honesty in Boris Johnson Hmm

MuthaFunka61 · 11/12/2019 08:37

You do understand how
peace negotiations/ conflict resolutions work OP?

You need to be impartial, you need to invite people to meet to discuss, you need to show warmth and empathy to all fractions. It's these and other skills which have awarded Corbyn peace prizes.

Jeesh!

bluebell34567 · 11/12/2019 08:50

royal mail privatized, NHS on the cards.
BJ's brother left tories, if he didnt see something wrong he wouldnt leave.
JRM is a chancer.
tories dont look trustworthy.

B0bbin · 11/12/2019 08:53

Exactly, but the whole idea of trying to work towards peace doesn't compute with Tory voters right now. If they cared about other humans they'd not be voting Tory.

Lumene · 11/12/2019 09:33

If I thought Corbyn would actually make Britain a better place to live in I would absolutely vote for him. Unfortunately he couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.

How do people think he is going to turn around the fortunes of the NHS when it is struggling under the weight of an ageing unhealthy population? It’s easy to say you’ll pour money into things but it has to actually exist in reality.

CunningOperative · 11/12/2019 09:40

Lol at the offended Corbyn fans Grin

There's something creepy about him, I met him an he made me shudder. It doesn't mean that I like Boris any better. And i'm still voting labour, because the tories must be stopped.

billysboy · 11/12/2019 09:42

Corbyn is a deluded twat

he can promise what he likes , may as well promise everyone a free christmas dinner as there is no chance of him getting elected as leader

I cant wait for Thursdays exit poll would love to be a fly on the wall

Labour have missed / going to miss a massive open goal

Time will tell

Boris and the torys arent ideal but best of the two with a chance of getting in

Sagradafamiliar · 11/12/2019 10:03

I find it more disturbing that our PM's persona whether it is an act or real, is that of an actual CLOWN.

Hefzi · 11/12/2019 10:13

I find it deeply unsettling so many people are prepared to overlook this degree of rampant antisemitism in the party, but there we go. Based on what I have seen on here, I would say we're heading for the government we deserve - what that says about the UK is also deeply unsettling.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 11/12/2019 10:22

Yes having a government that looked after the poorest and most vulnerable first rather than appeasing millionaire donors would be really bad state of affairs Hmm

BertrandRussell · 11/12/2019 10:31

And I have to say, him being personally “creepy” is a new one!

MyDcAreMarvel · 11/12/2019 10:32

Absolutely not op! Corbyn is the total opposite of your description. Now Boris on the other hand ....

I find Boris' prolific lieing terrifying. And the extent the tories are going to try and win making up so many false claims on social media and discrediting peoples stories in the NHS by sharing false information and apparent hacking of people's accounts. Making up one of their own was punched by a Labour supporter. Lucky that was filmed to show that was rubbish. The awful comments he made about single mums and the working class as well as his own dad saying most of the country were illiterate.
The lengths they will go to to try and get people to vote for them is astonishing.
People need to start waking up. How anyone could want Boris as prime minster with his racist remarks, his prolific lieing and his inability to give an interview without making up lies and trotting out the same crap over and over again that he will get brexit done because he thinks people are thickos and if you create a slogan like that and say it over and over again he thinks people will believe him. What's hilarious is his party have totally failed at delivering it hence why we keep having to set a new date. He avoids being interviewed by people he knows will challenge him like Andrew Neil but his party will happily laugh at Jeremy corbyns interview. At least he had the balls to do it! All Boris does is trash Corbyn when he himself and his party have brought this country to its knees.
There are endless accounts from people who work in the NHS who say its at breaking point. There are endless accounts of those that work in social care telling people how it's being it's being destroyed.

I would take corbyn any day over Boris, in fact I have more faith in my dog that Boris in running a country.

RhinoskinhaveI · 11/12/2019 10:38

This is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant

peachescariad · 11/12/2019 10:45

He's vile

BertrandRussell · 11/12/2019 10:49

I am absolutely not a Corbynista-not least because I think he is one of the reasons Labour will not be elected. But I find it very strange to see him characterised as anything but a decent, well intentioned man. That is one of the tragedies of his leadership. You don’t have to be nice to be a good prime minister, of course but can anyone imagine Johnson in this scenario ?

MorganKitten · 11/12/2019 10:54

I find Boris Johnson's sexist, homophobic, racist, hatred of poor people, lack of acknowledgement of how many children he actually has behaviours deeply unsettling.
Knowing he used to smash up restaurants with his mates as ‘sport’ then chuck money at the owners is disgusting.
