It seems like the stories about the old silver fox are ramping up. Feel like there's more mileage in this one that we know...

I was a fan of TM and liked Phil & Holly, I was taken in by it all when it was announced on Friday, shows how naive I am Blush

I can’t watch them now, knowing that there is a big coverup going on and as has been mentioned on here numerous times, treating the viewers like we are stupid. It’s so frustrating, it’s a huge elephant in the room and no one addressing it or being truthful is making it all so much worse.

I’ve a feeling they will, but I really hope ITV don’t get away with this.

WhatKatyDidNot · 13/02/2020 13:13

They will unless we all start asking them what their safeguarding procedures are like and whether or not their presenters are required to abide by social media behaviour standards - for example, not initiating contact with minors online, as PS is alleged to have done. If he's being protected, who else is there? The BBC hasn't provided any lessons for ITV as far as I can see.

HangingOffYourCloud · 13/02/2020 13:27

They are though aren't they? At least they are at the moment.

Greydove28 · 13/02/2020 15:04

I just remember how nasty he was to Kim Woodburn. He is such a snide. I dont watch itv now as sick of seeing him and Holly everywhere.

Krazykitty · 13/02/2020 15:11

I wish something could be done. I want to send an email to ITV but know I’d be wasting my time, urgh I might anyway.

IrmaFayLear · 13/02/2020 15:15

It would be interesting to see the recent bank transactions of the young man concerned...

Greydove28 · 13/02/2020 15:33

@Krazykitter perhaps set up a petition to get new presenters on ITV. Im sure we will all sign!

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 13/02/2020 17:17

It would be great for once that 'justice' is done, rather than treating the viewers as idiots and actually giving support and some form of closure to the young man.

Doubt that will ever happen though.

DarkDarkNight · 13/02/2020 17:22

PM looks after number one so no surprise he won’t bite the hand that feeds him. It shows him up for the Dick he is when he is so outspoken and vitriolic about so many others in showbiz but silent about thi.

PS is trying so hard to look relaxed and nonchalant but it’s not really working. I’ve been sad enough to have a skip through TM on catch-up a couple of times this week after work and watched the first few minutes of DOI which I don’t normally watch. He has never had a smile off his face, he is trying very hard to look comfortable, relaxed and at-ease but it’s really not working.

I’m quite angry at ITV that they think they have made it all go away. It’s like being back in the studio system in old Hollywood. They are taking the public for fools. It’s even more ridiculous that they think they can get away with it with Twitter and other Social Media.

ooooohbetty · 13/02/2020 17:27

PM won't be allowed to say a thing because of a super injunction. That's why.

Sowhatywhaty · 13/02/2020 17:45

What about a twitter campaign for a mass boycott of TM? I admit I've been watching just waiting for the car crash or the caller to reference his shenanigans. Then I watched in wonder at the sheer cheek of it! How can he conduct earnest interviews with people that have been through hardship or abuse now? He's not the honest family man he has been portraying is he, he's a seedy old man that has at best had an inappropriate relationship, at worst has groomed a child for his sexual gratification. I dare say it will be the end of his 'spend it well' series as well - all happy home life!

BeyondReasonablyDoubtsLots · 13/02/2020 17:46

Irma, I can imagine that bank staff in such situations must be absolutely bursting to tell someone (and obviously controlled under data protection laws so they can't tell).

Imagine (theoretically!) following this and knowing that some named person has had say a million pounds paid into their account in the last few days!

FoxRedBitch · 13/02/2020 17:58

But do we know this is actually true or are we putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5?

Hmm, this profile does not exist.

aloneinthenight · 13/02/2020 20:22

From this week's Popbitch

"Whatever his reasons for doing so, we have to admit that Phillip Schofield's decision to drop his coming out statement like a new Beyoncéé_ album was pretty slick. That he managed to time it ten minutes after we'd sent out last week's Popbitch was an especially neat touch too.

There's been a lot of speculation swirling in the week since – so if you're wondering why the press reporting hasn't quite matched up with whatever you may have read on social media, rest assured that it's less to do with any rumour of shadowy superinjunctions and probably more to do with the IPSO warning that was sent out to newsdesks this week reminding them of the Editors' Code of Practice and its stance on privacy and harassment.

Whether or not the papers are going to play ball in that regard, we'll no doubt find out in due course. All we'll say is that if Schofe truly meant it when he said there was nothing forcing his hand to come out, then good for him.

Because, historically, that's rarely turned out to be the case whenever ITV's other primetime stars have suddenly felt an urge to give highly personal tell-all exclusives to the Sun on Sunday...

bobstersmum · 13/02/2020 20:25

Was there a delay on the phone in today? For the purpose of stopping anyone upsetting Phil?

fortunatelynot · 13/02/2020 20:33

I love(d) George Michael with all my heart and at a time when homosexuality was less accepted, he managed to deal with everything so well.

PS on the other hand is a smug, annoying, self-centred git. I don't give a damn about his sexuality but after that debacle on TV last Friday, I think he should certainly have a strong word with himself.

Interesting, it did when I linked to it. He’d called out PS for being gay back in July and touched on the rumours we’ve covered here. He had a fb account saying the same thing... wonder if that’s gone too...?

Hairydilemma · 13/02/2020 21:03

Sorry, both first paras above were meant to be bold, quoting @Muddlingmackem.

If this works it’s the same post, only on his fb (seemingly from last July).

I thought he showed his true colours that day. Never liked him since.

SalmonOfKnowledge · 13/02/2020 21:14

Wow, just watching this clip now. Phil was basically telling her she deserved being excluded because she's not likeable.

Come on Kim, tweet what you know!

Oh no, two more posts to go.

GoFiguire · 13/02/2020 22:21

And that was one of them.
